Most of the decent crossover fics I’ve seen actually originate from AO3. The tagging system there means you can combine ‘Gilmore Girls’, ‘Rory Gilmore/Tristan Dugray’, and then any other fandom tag you’re curious about. Want them in ‘Bridgerton’? Filter for it. It’s that straightforward. I’d avoid Wattpad for this specific request; the tagging is chaotic and it’s mostly modern AUs, not true crossovers where the worlds blend. Sometimes you get luckier searching for ‘Tristan Dugray’ as a character across all fandoms on AO3, because he occasionally pops up in fics where he’s a Slytherin or something, separate from Rory. It’s a deep cut, for sure.

Try searching the term ‘Rogy crossover’ on Tumblr. A lot of fic writers will promo their work there with specific tags, and sometimes you’ll find moodboards or snippets leading to a full story on AO3. The community for this pairing is small but dedicated; if you ask in a ‘Gilmore Girls’ fanfiction Discord, someone might have a bookmark collection. I’ve found a couple where Tristan is a vampire from ‘The Vampire Diaries’ world who enrolls at Chilton—the tone was all over the place, but it was a fun read for the novelty.

Check the ‘Gilmore Girls’ section on FanFiction.net and use the ‘Crossover’ category dropdown. Then, just… read a lot of summaries. It’s not efficient, but I once found a forgotten ‘Gilmore Girls’/‘One Tree Hill’ fusion where Tristan was a River Court rival. It was wildly out of character, but the crossover premise was fun. For such a specific ask, broad searches and manual digging are unavoidable. The good stuff is usually buried.

Honestly, it’s a desert out there. I love the potential of Rory/Tristan in a new setting—that academic rivalry with underlying tension could translate so well to a law drama or a fantasy competition. But finding it executed well is rare. I’ve had minor success by looking at authors who write a lot of ‘Gilmore Girls’ crossovers in general and checking if they’ve ever dabbled with Tristan. Often, they haven’t. The fandom moved on to Logan years ago. You might find some ancient LiveJournal-era fics via Google searches, but links are often dead.

I’ve spent way too much time trying to hunt down good Gilmore Girls crossovers, especially for Rory/Tristan. It’s a tough niche because they’re a ‘what if’ ship from one season, so writers often toss them into other worlds to explore their dynamic. Archive of Our Own is your most reliable spot—tag filtering is a lifesaver. Search for the pairing (‘Rory Gilmore/Tristan Dugray’), then use the ‘Crossovers’ filter or add fandom tags like ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘The O.C.’.
FanFiction.net is messier, but you can sometimes find gems by searching ‘Gilmore Girls Crossover’ and then manually scrolling for stories that feature them. The summaries are key; look for author notes mentioning ‘Rory/Tristan’ or ‘Rogy’ (their old ship name). I’ve found a few solid ones where they’re both at Yale but in a universe with supernatural elements, or one hilarious one where they’re rivals at Sterling Cooper in a ‘Mad Men’ fusion.
Don’t sleep on smaller, forum-based sites dedicated to the ship either, though they’re often archives of older work. The real trick is patience—you’ll wade through a lot of Logan and Jess fics to find the crossover Tristan content.

YELENA:
I didn't think twice when I accepted my parents’ offer to marry our Alpha. He was a man every she-wolf in our pack wanted… I thought marrying him would mean love, protection, and respect.
Instead, it meant betrayal.
Tristan Crosswood, my husband, the Alpha of Blue Moon pack never wanted me. I was just a Luna by contract, replacing his empty title. He chose his mate repeatedly when she found her way back to the pack while I was foolish to reject mine the first time I saw him.
I was such a fool… and I suffered for it.
So, I did the only thing left for me to save myself.
I filed for a divorce, and Alpha Tristan signed the papers happily. I walked away broken but free, and when I started to heal, I discovered that I was carrying his pup.
Now Alpha Tristan wanted me, the Alpha who signed my freedom with his own hands became the Alpha who regret divorcing me.
But what he didn't know was that… I wasn't the desperate Luna he discarded.
It feels like half the Rory/Tristan fics from the mid-2000s vanished when Geocities went down. That specific era had this raw, experimental energy that’s hard to replicate. The slow burns from that time, like 'The Aspen Sojourn' or 'Chilton Chronicles: Reconsidered,' built tension through letters and missed calls, playing with the pre-smartphone distance in a way modern AUs just can’t capture. They made you feel every single week of waiting.
Today’s tagging system sort of ruins the surprise of a genuine slow burn. You see the ‘Slow Burn’ tag and your brain starts pacing it out. The ones that still work for me are the canon-divergence stories where Rory stays at Chilton after season one. 'A Different Latitude' has them as uneasy academic rivals for years before anything cracks, which feels painfully true to their characters. The author nails Tristan’s defensive arrogance and Rory’s stubborn moral high ground.
Avoid anything that jumps to them hooking up during her Yale phase right away. The magic of this pairing is the foundation of shared, intense history. The best fics make you believe the animosity is just a language for something else entirely. I sometimes reread 'Prodigal' by Verbosity when I need that specific ache—it’s archived on an old blog, but worth the hunt.
People really sleep on the fact that these two were built for classic teen soap dynamics. The kind where their parents are a mess and it bleeds into school hallways. 'Inheritance' by PenHalcyon nails this—it's set in a world where Tristan's father loses everything, so he's forced to attend Chilton on a scholarship, and Rory's mom is dating his dad's rival. It's not just sneaky glances in the library; it's about trying to hold onto status and dignity when everything's crashing down. The angst comes from how they weaponize each other's family secrets in public, then fall apart privately.
Another one that handles social pressure well is 'Lines We Cross' on FF.net. It makes Tristan the one struggling academically, which is a nice reversal. Rory becomes his reluctant tutor, and the drama stems from their friend groups clashing violently over it—Paris leading a campaign to have him expelled, Madeline and Louise spreading rumors, the whole Chilton gossip mill in overdrive. The angst isn't just romantic; it's the suffocating weight of everyone's expectations. I remember reading it years ago and feeling that specific high school dread in my stomach.
Honestly, a lot of the best material for them is on smaller archives now, like the old Gilmore Gazette site. Authors there weren't afraid to let them be truly messy—cheating scandals, vandalism, expulsion threats. Modern fics sometimes sand the edges off to make them more palatable, but the real high school drama lives in those jagged, imperfect plots.
Rory and Tristan? From 'Gilmore Girls'? Honestly, I think their fanfiction is less about the two of them specifically and more about using their dynamic as a vehicle to explore class and parental expectation themes that the show only hinted at. Tristan’s whole deal is being the troubled, rich kid shoved into a prep school by a distant family, while Rory is the small-town prodigy with a tight-knit but sometimes smothering single mom.
A lot of the fics I've read project a lot of adult anxieties onto them. They'll age them up and have them reconnect in their twenties, still haunted by their upbringings. Tristan’s conflict is usually about breaking free from his family's legacy and money, often portrayed as cold and manipulative. Rory’s is more subtle—dealing with the pressure to be 'perfect' that Lorelai unconsciously placed on her, and how that perfectionism clashes with a messier reality.
It's interesting because the show itself dropped Tristan pretty early, so fanfic writers have this blank canvas. They can make his family as monstrous as they want to explain his behavior, and they can make Rory rebel against Stars Hollow’s idyllic image in ways she never really did on screen. The pairing becomes a way to write about two different kinds of golden cages.
