I'm a little contrarian here because I think focusing only on 'websites' might be limiting. Most dedicated novel apps like WebNovel or Inkitt are essentially websites in an app shell, and they're built for the chapter-by-chapter experience with notification bells and everything. That said, if you're adamant about a browser, Wattpad's a classic for a reason, even if you have to sift through a lot to find the gems.

My personal hack has been using the reader forums on NovelUpdates. It doesn't host anything itself, but it's an incredible tracker. You find a series you like, and it links out to maybe five different translation group sites where the chapters are posted. You end up discovering these smaller, passion-project websites you'd never find otherwise. The quality can be hit or miss, but the dedication is real.

Been reading web novels for years and this question pops up constantly on forums. My main spots have shifted from random Googling to a few tried-and-true hubs. Royal Road is massive for progression fantasy and litRPG, chapters get scheduled updates and the community comments are half the fun. For translated stuff, Wuxiaworld is basically the original official source for a lot of Chinese cultivation novels, though they've moved more to full-book apps, their site still has chapter-by-chapter serials.

Don't sleep on Scribble Hub either, it's a bit more niche but you can find some stellar ongoing stories there that aren't on the bigger platforms. The update frequency is shown right on the story page which is a lifesaver. Honestly, I bounced off a lot of aggregator sites because the formatting was terrible and half the chapters were mislabeled, so sticking to the known author hubs saved my sanity.

It really depends if you're after original English stuff or translations. The ecosystem's totally different for each.

Check out sites that specifically cater to serialized fiction. Kindle Vella is one, though it's pay-per-chunk. For free chapter-by-chapter, Tapas and Radish are huge, especially for romance and slice-of-life. The model is literally built on daily or weekly episode drops. Sometimes the wait between updates kills me, but that's part of the serial game. I got hooked on one fantasy series there and just left the tab open permanently.

Where to find websites that read me a book chapter by chapter?

I love audiobooks and often rely on websites that read books chapter by chapter. My go-to is Librivox, which offers free public domain audiobooks read by volunteers. The selection is vast, especially for classics, and the community vibe makes it feel personal. Another favorite is Audible, though it’s a paid service. The quality is top-notch, with professional narrators bringing stories to life. For free options, YouTube surprisingly has many channels dedicated to audiobook chapters, though the legality can be murky. I also use Scribd, which has a subscription model but includes tons of modern titles. These platforms are perfect for bedtime listening or multitasking.

Can I find the 11 chapter of the novel on the publisher's website?

Finding specific chapters of a novel on a publisher's website can be tricky. Most publishers don’t upload full chapters, especially not individual ones like the 11th chapter. They usually provide sample chapters, often the first one, to give readers a taste of the book. If you’re looking for the 11th chapter, I’d suggest checking if the publisher has a 'Look Inside' feature or a downloadable excerpt. Sometimes, authors or publishers share bonus content or specific chapters on their blogs or social media, so it’s worth exploring those avenues. If all else fails, libraries or bookstores might have a physical copy you can browse.
