It's Light Novel Volume 1 onward. The manga's way behind, and the original web novel is mostly in Japanese unless you find a fan translation, which can be spotty. The LN is the only version getting consistent English releases. I'd stick with that.

Alright, so you're trying to tackle 'Assassin's Skill in Another World: Strongest'? I spent a weekend sorting this out because honestly, the naming and release order is a total mess across sites. You're probably looking at the web novel origin, then the light novel, and maybe even the manga adaptation—they all tell the same core story but with different pacing.

Start with the web novel. It's the raw, unfiltered version the author posted online, usually on sites like Kakuyomu or Shousetsuka ni Narou. That's the foundation. After it gained popularity, it got picked up for a light novel release with illustrations, edited prose, and sometimes extra side stories. The light novel volumes are your main 'official' read. Finally, there's a manga adaptation that follows the LN plot pretty closely, but it's obviously way behind. My advice? Read the light novels from Volume 1. If you get impatient for new content, jump back to the latest web novel chapters.

Man, I just binged this whole thing last month and the order is simpler than people make it seem. Forget the web novel unless you're a completionist or can read raw Japanese; the official English translation is only for the light novels anyway. So just grab 'Assassin's Skill in Another World: Strongest' light novel Volume 1 and go from there. The manga is fun but it's barely adapted two volumes worth of material, so it's more of a visual supplement.

I tried reading the web novel after the LN and the differences aren't huge for the early arcs—just some rougher writing and less polished world-building. The light novel is the definitive version, and since it's still being published, that's the reading order you should care about: LN Vol. 1, 2, 3, and so on.

What is the reading order for isekai cheat kaitakuki volumes?

Just ran into this myself after grabbing volume 3 on a whim, then realizing the story was already in the thick of things. The core series, the one with the guy building up his territory, that's just 'Isekai Cheat Kaitakuki' on its own. It starts with volume 1 and goes straight up from there. But here's where it gets a bit tangled. There's a prequel series called 'Isekai Cheat Survival Seikatsu'. It's about his life right after arriving in the other world, before the whole 'kaitakuki' nation-building thing kicks off. Some folks say you should read that first for the full backstory, but honestly, jumping into the main series at volume 1 works just fine. I did it and wasn't lost at all. There are also some side story volumes and manga adaptations floating around, but for the core narrative, stick to the numbered light novel volumes of the main title. The official English release by J-Novel Club follows the main series order, which is probably the safest path.
