In The Hunger Games epilogue, fans debate whether Katniss and Peeta’s kids get actual names or just symbolic roles in the narrative. It's never clearly stated.

In the epilogue of 'The Hunger Games', Katniss and Peeta's daughter is named Willow and their son is named Rye. It’s a quiet, hopeful ending that really contrasts with stories that crank the family drama up to eleven. For a wild shift in tone, I recently read 'Alpha's Eight Secret Babies', where the hidden children trope gets a ridiculous, over-the-top treatment—the sheer logistical chaos of eight secret toddlers suddenly appearing is the entire driving force of the plot. It’s definitely not a subtle family reunion.
I turned back to the epilogue of 'Mockingjay', the final book in the 'Hunger Games' series to scribe down potential names of Katniss and Peeta's children. The thing is: Suzanne Collins cleverly leaves their names open to the reader's imagination. This allows readers to go deeper into her world and make themselves part of it; you can almost feel the sweat on your skin there in a CGI 3D movie villa.
The children are never named, but can have several names for them. You might give them your grandparents 'names, the chocolates you adore or even Downton Abbey but they will always be just that in your imagination. Sufficiently described, the two kids are called 'their son' and 'their daughter', and I find it ironic that - just like how Katniss and Peeta were 'tributes' once upon a time - the preference is clearly for indefinite nomenclature.
As a devotee of 'The Hunger Games', I enjoy dwelling on the 'happily ever after' that Katniss and Peeta get. After all the harrowing experiences, they deserved it. The names of their kids are never explicitly mentioned in the series, but they are often referred to as 'the boy' and 'the girl'. The boy has Peeta's blonde curls and blue eyes, while the girl is a spitting image of Katniss with her dark hair.
On the surface, there might not seem to be much to Katniss and Peeta’s relationship post 'The Hunger Games'. For their children, Suzanne Collins deliberately left their names out. This kind of technique always gets me thinking. Maybe she wanted us, the readers, to fill in the blanks. Or perhaps it is a poignant nod to the anonymity of regular life after spending so much time in the harsh spotlight of the Hunger Games. Either way, Katniss and Peeta’s children, a little girl and an older boy, represent a new generation untouched by the horrors of the games.

Casually scrolling through the news, a headline made me stop dead in my tracks.
[Shocking! Illegitimate Daughter Provokes Meyer Family Heiress, Teacher and Classmates Punish Her!]
In the video, my daughter Maeve stood in the freezing snow wearing nothing but a tattered dress, her body covered in bruises. She was being forced to endure the cold, her little frame shivering uncontrollably.
A female teacher poked at Maeve's head, ordering the entire class to call her a shameless illegitimate child.
Maeve sobbed, insisting she wasn't, but all she got in return was crueler, more mocking laughter from everyone around her.
Then a chubby little boy ran up and slapped her across the face.
"Your mom's a mistress, and you're a filthy illegitimate child! You're both just gutter rats!"
The teacher didn't stop him—she clapped her hands in approval.
"That's right! The Meyer family heir isn't something just any nobody gets to pretend to be."
"Besides, Mrs. Meyer picks up Clarisse every single day. Look at her—so elegant, clearly classy. And your homewrecker of a mother? Pathetic. She's not even in the same league."
When I heard that last line, I slammed my laptop shut, shaking with rage.
I turned to my assistant.
"Book me the fastest private jet home. I want to see for myself exactly when Aaron, that worthless husband of mine, managed to father an illegitimate child."
Riven is carrying the last child the world was never meant to see.
An outlawed Omega, swollen with a forbidden pregnancy, he’s been hunted from the moment he drew breath—his scent alone enough to drive Alphas into madness. He’s survived by hiding, running, and trusting no one.
Until he stumbles into the territory of Cazriel Vane.
The Hunter Alpha. Ruthless. Unyielding. Bred to spill blood and erase threats like Riven from existence. But when Cazriel catches him, trembling and defiant, something ancient snaps into place. Something primal. Something irreversible.
Now bound by a curse that defies every law, the coldest Alpha alive finds himself tethered to the boy he was meant to kill.
And protecting him might be the only thing that saves what’s left of his soul.
The world wants Riven dead.
Cazriel wants him safe.
And the child growing between them? It might burn the entire kingdom to the ground.
Katniss and Peeta Mellark are together in the end of "The Hunger Games" series. "The information is intense! "They were forced together in the life anddeath realization of the Games, and thus they grew a powerful bond between them.
And while Katniss and Gale have many differences--Peeta's unwavering devotion to her, leaves no room for her to be with him except in his arms. This subtle nature of their relationship is beautifully sustained through the whole series. No matter what Katniss says, Peeta always loves her.
But with Gale, though there is an obvious chemistry between them and the two will share bodily warmth as well as day-to-day activities in which they care for each other, is their relationship fleeting under the errors created by both? In the end, Little Pebble attains Katniss’ heart, and they build a life together.
The answer you seek is amongst one of the best-crafted characters in the YA dystopian series 'The Hunger Games'. Created by the ingenious Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen, the arrow-slinging heroine of the series, has a younger sister. The sister is an element of purity and innocence amidst the harsh cruel reality of the dystopia - her name is Primrose Everdeen. Often addressed fondly as Prim by Katniss, her character is like a beacon of light in the dreary District 12. Prim's innocence and Katniss's fierce protective love for her serve as crucial elements in pushing the plot forward.
In 'The Hunger Games' series, written by Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen's mother is an essential character, although her full name is never directly mentioned in the books. She is referred to throughout the series as 'Mrs. Everdeen.' As a former apothecary, she has healing knowledge and skills, which she passes on to her daughters, Katniss and Prim, to help them survive in the harsh environment of District 12.
