Are There Any Kim Stone Novellas Or Short Stories To Fit Into The Order
As a huge Angela Marsons fan, I'd love to slot in any Kim Stone novellas or Detective Stone short stories I've missed into my proper chronological reading order.

The team banter feels more natural in the novellas. With less extreme, high-pressure drama, there's more room for the dry, cynical humor that defines their office interactions. You get a better sense of them as people who work together every day.
Those moments of levity are what make the darker parts of the main books bearable. The novellas remind you that this team, despite everything, can still make each other laugh.

The 'also bought' section on Amazon is your friend. If you click on any main Kim Stone novel, scroll down. You'll see the novellas pop up in that carousel of recommendations. It's an algorithmic way to find them, though not necessarily in order.
It's how I discovered 'Broken Bones' existed. I saw the cover, thought 'I don't remember this one,' and clicked. Lo and behold, a missing piece of the series.

The tone shifts in the shorter stories. They're less about the procedural grind and more about a single, haunting idea. 'Six Graves', for instance, has this oppressive, claustrophobic feeling that lingers.
It proves Marsons can build a terrifying atmosphere even without the page count of a full novel. If you're a fan of mood and tension over complex plotting, the novellas might actually be your favorite part of the whole series.

Is there a collected volume? I hate buying short e-books individually; I always feel like I'm overpaying for page count. If the author released a 'Kim Stone Case Files' with all the novellas bundled, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
Until then, I'll probably just wait. My to-read list is long enough without hunting down bite-sized stories that might not be available on my preferred platform.

Honestly, I just go by publication date. The author writes them in the order she envisions the overall arc. So, check the copyright page or Amazon listing for the original publication year. Line those up with the main series books' publication years, and that's your reading order. It's never failed me for any series, not just Kim Stone.
My two cents: the match is 100%. I've never been confused by a timeline gap or an unexplained reference. The continuity editing must be phenomenal. In a series this long, that's an achievement. As a reader, it allows you to fully immerse without second-guessing when something is supposed to be happening.
I see some folks listing the order with the novellas integrated. I'd advise against that for a first-time reader. The novellas are nice bonuses, but they can disrupt the pacing of the main arc. Read the core novels first to get the full narrative thrust.
After you're done, if you're craving more, then seek out the short stories like 'Six Graves' or 'First Blood'. They're like deleted scenes or character studies. They add color but aren't essential plot bricks.
I judge a series by the quality of its Wikipedia entry. A solid, well-maintained page with a complete 'Bibliography' section in a table? That's a series worth reading. The Kim Stone page is exemplary. It shows the author takes her work seriously enough to have a documented publishing history, and the fans care enough to maintain it. When I see a sparse or non-existent Wikipedia page for a long-running series, I get suspicious about its consistency or popularity. So your search for the order led you to a good sign about the series' overall health and fan engagement. The list is just the first benefit of that ecosystem.
I feel like if there were important short stories, the fan community would be all over them. On the forums and fan sites, the discussion is 99% about the novels—plot theories, character arcs, predictions. The short stories barely get a mention. That's a strong indicator they're peripheral. The fandom's energy and analysis are focused on the novel-length stories. That's where the real meat is.
The collections are poorly organized, frankly. They jump around the timeline. I'd love a properly curated chronological collection, but we don't have one. This haphazard presentation itself tells you the publisher doesn't consider a strict order important for enjoyment.
