I’ve been following Kim Harrison’s work for years, and her latest release, 'The Witch King,' came out on June 13, 2023. It’s the first book in her new 'Mortal Powers' series, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. The story follows a half-witch, half-demon protagonist navigating a world where power is everything. Harrison’s world-building is as immersive as ever, blending urban fantasy with political intrigue. If you’re a fan of her 'Hollows' series, you’ll love this fresh take on magic and morality. The book’s been getting rave reviews for its complex characters and fast-paced plot.
Kim Harrison’s latest novel, 'The Witch King,' was published on June 13, 2023. This marks her return to the urban fantasy genre after a brief hiatus, and it’s already making waves. The book introduces a new universe with a half-witch, half-demon protagonist who’s caught in a dangerous power struggle. Harrison’s signature blend of dark humor and intricate plotting shines through, making it a must-read for fans.
For those unfamiliar with her work, Kim Harrison is best known for 'The Hollows' series, which ran for 13 books. 'The Witch King' feels like a natural evolution of her style, with richer world-building and deeper emotional stakes. The book’s release was highly anticipated, and it didn’t disappoint. Early readers have praised its unique magic system and the way it tackles themes of identity and survival. If you’re into urban fantasy with a gritty edge, this one’s for you.
Harrison has also hinted at more books in the 'Mortal Powers' series, so there’s plenty to look forward to. Her ability to craft compelling, flawed characters is on full display here, and I’m already counting down the days until the next installment.
I was thrilled when Kim Harrison’s 'The Witch King' dropped on June 13, 2023. It’s her first book in a new series, and it’s packed with everything I love about her writing—complex characters, a vividly realized world, and a plot that keeps you guessing. The protagonist’s struggle between his witch and demon heritage adds layers to the story, making it more than just a typical fantasy adventure.
Harrison’s 'Hollows' series set a high bar, but 'The Witch King' proves she’s still at the top of her game. The book’s mix of action and introspection makes it a standout in the genre. If you’re looking for a fresh take on urban fantasy, this is it. The release date was a highlight of my summer reading list, and I’m already eager for the sequel.

"It wouldn't be the first nor the last time any one of you Titan Gods had affairs with ‘Greek Gods’ you know," Thaelia twisted her lips.
Lukas face hardened and he tried to keep it like that, but one look at her face and a smile broke out of him and he's laughing hard. She accompanied him and chuckled softly, adorably, and it drove the son of Helios crazy. "Didn't know moon princesses could contain that much spite."
"What can I say?" She lowered her voice, licking her lips.
Her beauty was much more obvious, with her eyes the color of the sea, lined with gold, and lips rose. It was enough to make him realise he's drowning again, only this time it's on the color of her eyes.
"You... inspire me."
"Inspire you?"
"Yes," She smiled sweetly
***
There's two things that strikes Talia as she starts reading the book of her past—Lukas was a reckless son of Helios, Ajaxson was the son of Ajax who's head over heels in love with her while she was a moon princess desired by both of them. To add a Greek Goddess Hera made it impossible for her to stay happy with Lukas. It was just not written in the stars.

so I totally get the excitement for her new releases. Last I checked, she hasn't announced anything super recent, but her latest book 'American Demon' came out not too long ago, and it was a blast revisiting Rachel Morgan's world. Harrison tends to take her time crafting stories, so I'd keep an eye on her social media or website for updates. If you're itching for something similar while waiting, maybe try 'Dead Witch Walking' by Kim Harrison again—it's always fun to re-read with fresh eyes!
I can share that her latest book, 'Bridge of Gold', was released on March 1, 2022. This heartwarming story continues her tradition of blending faith, hope, and adventure, much like her previous works such as 'Hope Rising' and 'Blind Hope'.
Kim Meeder has a unique way of crafting narratives that resonate deeply with readers, often drawing from her own experiences with horses and personal challenges. 'Bridge of Gold' is no exception, offering a poignant tale of redemption and courage. If you're a fan of inspirational stories with strong emotional cores, this book is definitely worth checking out. Her ability to weave real-life lessons into compelling fiction is truly remarkable.
I’ve been a huge fan of Kim Harrison’s 'The Hollows' series for years, and I’ve always wondered if it would ever get a TV adaptation. So far, there hasn’t been any official announcement or release of a TV series based on her books. The series, which follows Rachel Morgan, a witch bounty hunter in a world where supernatural creatures live openly alongside humans, feels perfect for a screen adaptation. The rich world-building, action-packed plots, and complex characters would translate amazingly to TV. I’ve heard rumors over the years about potential interest from studios, but nothing concrete. Fans like me are still holding out hope that one day we’ll see Rachel, Ivy, and Jenks brought to life on screen. Until then, I’ll keep rereading the books and imagining how epic a 'Hollows' series could be.
