Piracy talk makes me nervous for the community. Authors like H.D. Carlton rely on sales to keep writing. Finding loopholes or free downloads feels icky when it's a living artist's work.

Check out Chirp Books. They don't have a subscription; they just have daily deeply discounted titles. 'Hunting Adeline' might pop up there on sale for a few bucks someday. It's not free, but it's closer.

My library's waitlist for 'Hunting Adeline' was like 12 weeks long. I ended up just using an Audible credit because my patience ran out. Maybe your local waitlist is shorter, though!

The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Michelle Sparks is next-level. It's the kind of performance you want to support, you know? Makes the hunt for a free copy feel a bit wrong when the work is that quality.

Every girl at the age of eighteen, if left unmated, is forcibly volunteered for the Alphas Hunt. Hazel is no exception and also the only one who sees it, not as a chance to find a strong Alpha to take care of her, but rather as a ceremony that strips you of your free will and sends you out into the woods to be hunted like a deer.
If she is claimed, she will be His. If she is not, she will return home in shame and be shunned from her pack.
Hazel knows the ways of the Alphas, being the daughter of a Beta, but what she doesn't count on is the presence of the Lycan King. The leader of all is participating in his first-ever hunt, and she is his prey.
***Warning: This book contains a LOT of mature content such as strong language, explicit s*x scenes, Consensual & non-consensual BDSM, etc.***

Khalid Adio: I tried to do what was right. I wanted to protect my family. Even my mother. My misguided need to save both my mother and sister ended in death. Now I'm on the run from the Bloodmoon Pack and my guild. I still want to protect my sister, but I've had to look elsewhere without my usual resources.
Daniela Chávez: A hunter is the last person I expected to find myself indebted to. This one is different, though, or so he wants me to think. I don't believe it. But a debt is a debt, and I pay my debts. Now I'm dealing with hunters and werewolves for this fool.
This is the fourth book in the Bloodmoon Pack Series. You can read this as a standalone or in series order. Some events in this book happened in The Reluctant Alpha as they overlap.

Evelyn Vale was raised to fear the woods—and to kill what lives within them. As the daughter of the most feared werewolf hunter alive, she’s spent her life hidden behind high walls, reading stories of love and freedom she’s never known. But when she strays too far into the trees one fateful evening, she’s captured by the very monsters her father trained her to hate.
Alpha Rafe Blackthorn has blood on his hands and vengeance in his heart. The last thing he expects is to discover that the human girl trespassing on his land is his fated mate—the daughter of the man who slaughtered his parents. Claiming her could tear apart the fragile line between peace and war. But denying the bond may destroy them both.
Held hostage in a world of teeth and moonlight, Evelyn becomes a symbol of everything the pack despises—and everything Rafe cannot let go. As tensions rise and war looms, Evelyn must choose between the family that raised her and the bond she never asked for. And Rafe must decide if love is worth risking his pack… and his heart.
Enemies by blood. Bound by fate.
Can love rewrite the laws written in war?
On her eighth birthday, Lyra Ashwood watched a monstrous wolf slaughter her parents before her eyes.
From that day on, she hated werewolves.
Raised by her grandfather in the secluded forests of Mystique Village, Lyra spent the next ten years training for one purpose: revenge. But on her eighteenth birthday, her entire world shattered when she discovered the impossible truth.
She wasn't a hunter.
She was a wolf.
Determined to uncover the truth behind her parents' deaths, Lyra disguises herself as a powerless, wolfless Omega and infiltrates Dravenford Manor as a maid.
Her mission is simple.
Earn their trust.
Get close to Alpha Cole Dravenford.
Then destroy the family she believes murdered her parents.
What Lyra never expected...
Was to become the Alpha's fated mate.
Cold, ruthless, and feared throughout the werewolf world, Cole has spent his entire life protecting his pack. The last thing he expected was for fate to bind him to a seemingly wolfless Omega. The more he tried to reject the mate bond, the stronger it became.
As the bond pulls them closer together, Lyra begins to question everything she has believed for the past ten years. The wolf she has hunted her entire life may not be her parents' killer, and the Alpha she came to destroy may be the only one capable of revealing the truth.
With powerful enemies lurking in the shadows, Lyra must decide what matters more.
The revenge she has lived for.
Or the Alpha's heart she never intended to steal.
Evangeline has a destiny...to be the greatest hunter ever born. Trained by her father, Evangeline has learned to be as cold and remorseless as the werewolves she hunts until her 18th birthday when everything changes. Meeting a strange wolf awakens something within her and Evangeline finds herself pitted against two worlds: the one she was raised in and the one that she was taught to loath. Has destiny played a cruel joke on her and she's fated to a wolf? Or is there another hunter hidden within her waiting to escape?
I judge an audiobook service by its sleep timer function. I need one that has increments like '30 minutes' and 'end of chapter'. The Audible app is okay, but Libby's is simpler.
Wherever you get it, make sure the app's features suit your listening habits. If you fall asleep listening, you don't want to lose your place. Both major platforms have the title.
Yes, you can. All the standard audiobook platforms allow it. I use Scribd occasionally, and even they allow downloads for offline listening on their mobile app. For a purchase on Audible or Apple Books, it's even more straightforward.
Just find the title in your library, and there should be a clear download or save offline button. I've done this so many times it's second nature. It's the best way to ensure you can listen anytime, anywhere, without worrying about your internet connection.
It’s on Audiobooks.com as well. I compared a few places when I bought it; sometimes one has a discount or an extra credit offer. Shopping around the legit stores is fine, just don't go to the shady free sites.
Before you hit play, look up Cat and Mouse Duet. 'Hunting Adeline' is Book 2. You absolutely must listen to 'Haunting Adeline' first. The audio production builds from the first book, and the character voices are consistent. Starting with the second would be utterly confusing and ruin the entire emotional arc.
Also, the author, H.D. Carlton, has very specific content warnings. Take them seriously. We're talking graphic depictions of SA, torture, trafficking, and violence. The audio doesn't shy away from any of it. It's a lot to process auditorily. I found pausing during the heaviest parts to be necessary for my own mental space.
My two cents: don't forget about the physical library's website. Sometimes you need to search and place the hold on the library's main website before it even shows up in the Libby app. I've had that happen. The website portal is more powerful.
Once you place the hold online, it'll sync to your Libby app. Also, libraries sometimes have 'Lucky Day' collections for popular items with no waits, but those are usually ebooks. Still, worth glancing at the audiobook 'Lucky Day' section if your library has that feature. You could get lucky!
