Starting out my teens in the 2000s, I first came to know of American teenage popular culture with High School Musical, which was a revolution. One song that stays in my mind is "When There was Me And You". The lyric is very moving and beautifully brings up what feelings in love as teenager - this song just makes you realize the truth afresh. Looking turned specifically at class work from out-of-study type classes meant you still felt like a young teenager--hence this song. Gabriella Montez, played by Vanessa Hudgens, sings the song in order to express her sadness and confusion at her love for Troy Bolton. A touching melody accompanied by words that carry great emotional weight. It is as if the long letter of a teenage girl's heart can be heard through this song. It was the song for those many people including myself who were in their first of broken hearts.

One song that perfectly captures high school heartbreak is 'When There Was Me and You' from 'High School Musical'. The lyrics express Gabriella's pain and the realization that Troy might not feel the same way about her. Definitely a go-to song for heartache.

I remember teenager's Anthem, 'When There Was Me and You' from 'High School Musical'. Sung by Vanessa Hudgens's character, Gabriella, it paints a vivid picture of first love and heartbreak in the lyrics. The lines 'It’s funny when you find yourself looking from the outside, I’m standing here but all I want is to be over there', have resonated with countless teenagers facing first-time heartbreak.

This song expresses all too well the pain of adolescent love gone wrong; he's a real fan. These lyrics describe in every detail the heartache Gabriella feels in this break-up. Now through the verses "I Can't believe that I could be so blind..." she expresses everything wrong about having misjudged Troy once more in darkness full force and agony. The perfect song for heartbreak days.
