Will Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 3 Have Remastered Graphics?

the Master Collection releases have been a mixed bag so far. Vol 1 had some upscaling but no full remasters, just emulation with tweaks. Considering Vol 2 is rumored to focus on 'MGS4', which desperately needs modernization, I doubt Vol 3 will suddenly shift to full remasters. Konami seems more interested in preserving the original experience than overhauling graphics. If they were going to do proper remasters, they'd likely market it as a separate project like the 'Metal Gear Solid Delta' remake. My bet is Vol 3 will follow the same pattern: resolution bumps and frame rate improvements, but no ground-up visual upgrades.

That said, I'd love to be wrong—imagine 'Metal Gear Solid 3' with ray tracing and rebuilt textures! But given Konami's track record with collections, I'm keeping expectations low.

From a technical perspective, the likelihood of Vol 3 having remastered graphics is slim. The Master Collection line appears to be Konami's way of repackaging existing emulated versions with quality-of-life upgrades rather than delivering true remasters. The more probable scenario is that Vol 3 will match the previous collections: 4K upscaling, trophy support, and maybe some new bonus content. True remasters would compete with their own 'Delta' project, so it makes business sense to keep these collections distinct.

Konami's approach to the Master Collection seems clear: they're prioritizing accessibility over graphical fidelity. Vol 3 will probably include 'Peace Walker' and maybe 'Portable Ops', but expecting remastered graphics contradicts their current strategy. The first two volumes established a pattern of basic HD upscaling with original assets intact. Full remasters require significant investment, and Konami appears to be testing waters with these collections before committing to full remakes like 'Delta'.

That doesn't mean the games won't look better. The Switch version of Vol 1 proved they can optimize older titles for modern hardware, even if it's not a visual overhaul. Vol 3 will likely benefit from similar technical improvements—better anti-aliasing, consistent frame pacing, and maybe even mod support on PC. But true remasters would involve reworked models, lighting, and textures, which we haven't seen in previous volumes.

For context, compare Capcom's approach to 'Resident Evil' remakes versus their classic collections. Konami is firmly in the latter camp right now.
