In What Order Should I Read Alyssa Maxwell’S Lady And Lady’S Maid?
My friend just gave me her copy of Lady and Lady's Maid by Alyssa Maxwell, and I'm a bit lost. The series has multiple installments, and I don't want to start in the wrong place.

Alyssa Maxwell's 'Lady and Lady’s Maid' mystery series is best enjoyed in publication order, starting with the first book 'Murder Most Malicious.' That way you follow the characters' development and any overarching threads chronologically. For a different take on a servant-noble dynamic but with a paranormal twist, 'The Alpha's Maid' plays with that upstairs-downstairs tension in a werewolf pack setting where the maid's hidden strength becomes key to the pack's survival.
My two cents: the publication order feels organic because the world expands naturally. You start in the polished, established world of Lady Phoebe, and then the maid books peel back the curtain to show you how that world really works. The revelation feels more impactful than if you saw the gritty truth first.
The class commentary is sharper if you read them interleaved. You go from Molly barely scraping by to Lady Phoebe worrying about which gown to wear to a ball, and the juxtaposition is powerful. Reading all of one series blunts that effect because you get used to one perspective.

I tried reading one of the holiday novellas first and got bored. The main novels have better pacing. Start with 'Murder at the Breakers' and circle back to the short stuff only if you're hooked.
