Just imagine that you're browsing a social media comment section and, all of a sudden, you come upon the acronym ‘pfp’. Sounds like some secret code--right?
Well, fear not my friend, because it’s really not all that cryptic!'pfp' is an abbreviation for ‘profile picture’. It’s the photo you pick to represent yourself around the digital world. College students might use their portrait headshots, while others might choose a picture of something they like from a particular era.
And really hardcore fans? We often select a favorite anime character as our mascot from the game we’ve clocked countless hours on, or that one comic panel that made us roll in the aisles. The 'pfp' is more than just an image, but is part of our digital personality.
Among the various chatting online and social network platform, pfp is widely acknowledged as an acronym for 'profile picture'. It represents who you are with an image being the sole contact made on your home page.
As a 'pfp' these days is usually consisting of anime such as Naruto, game characters like Super Mario Brothers or real-life scenes in historical comic strips; one might be considered old-fashioned if one does not have little taste for these things that will be popular in the future.

On the day of my birthday, my best friend, Bella Johnson, gifted me a polaroid camera. I took that to the zoo.
I took some photos of the animals in the zoo.
In my past life, I took the polaroid camera she had gifted me and happily took photos for my whole family.
Unexpectedly, after a week, my mother got into a car accident and passed away.
My father suffered from a stroke, which left half his body paralyzed even after treatment at the hospital.
The company that I was managing ran into problems and almost went bankrupt.
In merely a month, my hair had gone gray. There were wrinkles and red marks on my face. I gained a lot of weight due to the stress.
My boyfriend felt that I was jinxed. He claimed that it was my bad luck that had caused my family to fall apart. He broke up with me.
I was ranting to Bella when I accidentally discovered that she had suddenly become a millionaire. Her parents, who were hospitalized, suddenly became healthy again. It was as if they had not been sick to begin with.
I almost lost my mind when I found out about that. On my way to the hospital, I was run over by a car and died.
After I died, I found out that everything had happened because of the polaroid camera that Bella had gifted me. She had already been having an affair with my boyfriend for a long time.
When I opened my eyes again, I was transported back to the day Bella gifted me the polaroid camera.

Claire, her family, and the people who they'll meet will continue to meet good and bad people along the way, but will they survive in this world ruled by the dead? Have you ever wondered how you will survive when a zombie outbreak comes?

How quickly everything ended by just a single day, I was just like any other girl in the world- laughing and hanging out with friends, taking endless selfies, having crushes on bad boys and nerds included. I never thought or cared about how I look. It was just mine. Normal and Easy.
But everything changed in one single moment- a moment filled with fire, screaming metal, and a blur of terror that rewrote my life.
I survived. Everybody says I'm lucky but this, this doesn't feel like survival it feels like a punishment, a curse. A curse that am willing to carry all my life. The accident left me with permanent facial disfigurement, and ever since, I've been stuck behind a mask I never asked to wear. My face is the first thing anyone sees, and sometimes, it feels like the only thing they see. I avoid mirrors now. I no longer go out; I can't risk being stared at.
Friends faded. Invitations stopped. Of course they would stop, who would want to invite the hideous me. I would scare everyone, worse, ruin their appetite. They would move away from their tables. What did I expect? Life moved on for everyone but me.
My mom is the only person in my life right now, shes' become my anchor. Even with her love, it's still hard to silence the voices in my head, the ones saying I'm hideous, broken, unworthy. I miss my old smile. I still haven't done anything in life. And this isn't about my appearance it's about my self- esteem, my confidence, my ability to feel like I belong anywhere.
This is a constant battle with the mirror, with the world, and with yourself. And most days, I'm trying to find the strength to look up to.
