Audible has it. The audiobook is decent. The ebook is on Kindle. Check your library's OverDrive or Hoopla too, sometimes you get lucky. I borrowed it that way last year.

Audible and Kindle are the most straightforward places. I downloaded a sample of the audiobook to see if I liked the narrator's voice before committing a credit. The pacing is slower than I usually prefer, but it grew on me. The ebook is also on Kobo and Barnes & Noble's Nook store.

A heads-up: I saw a few free PDF versions floating around on random sites, but they looked super sketchy and probably violate copyright. The official versions aren't that expensive, especially if you catch a sale.

I'm a huge fan of anything Wonderland-related and have read a few of these modern takes. For 'Dream in Wonderland', my go-to was my local library's digital app. I use Libby, and they had both the ebook and audiobook available to borrow. The wait wasn't too long, maybe a week or two.

The audiobook narrator does this really soft, dreamy voice for Alice that I found perfect for the mood, but I could see it lulling someone to sleep if they listen while driving. The ebook formatting was clean on my tablet. If your library doesn't have it, you can suggest a purchase. I've done that before with other niche titles and they often add them.

So I went looking for this myself last month. Ended up checking all the major platforms. It depends a little on what region you're in, but I found the ebook pretty widely available.

Amazon's Kindle store has it, of course. Apple Books and Google Play Books do as well. I noticed the ebook sometimes gets bundled with different editions of 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' since 'Dream in Wonderland' is a direct retelling, so check the description before you buy to make sure you're getting the standalone version.

The audiobook was trickier. I found a professional narration on Audible, read by someone named Imogen Church, I think? Her performance is quite whimsical, which fits. But there's also a version on Spotify if you have a premium subscription, though I'm not sure if it's the same narrator. I'd lean toward Audible for the higher audio quality, personally. I listened to a sample and liked the vocal characterizations for the Cheshire Cat and the Queen of Hearts.

Does book in dream have an official audiobook version?

I recently checked 'Book in Dream' because I was hoping to listen to it during my commute. From what I found, there isn’t an official audiobook version available yet. I searched through major platforms like Audible, Google Play Books, and even the publisher’s website, but no luck. It’s a shame because the story’s surreal atmosphere would be perfect for an audio experience. Maybe in the future, they’ll consider producing one—fingers crossed! Until then, I’ll stick to the physical copy, which is still a fantastic read. If you’re into audiobooks, you might want to explore similar titles like 'The Starless Sea' or 'Piranesi' in the meantime.

Where can I read Dream in Wonderland online for free?

Let me start by saying I completely get the urge to find 'Dream in Wonderland' for free. Books can be pricey, and trying before you buy or accessing out-of-print titles is a real reader's dilemma. I've been down this rabbit hole myself. Your absolute best and most legal bet is to check your local library's digital offerings, like Libby or OverDrive. I've found so many titles there I thought were impossible to get. If you have a library card, you just sign in and search. It's not always instant—sometimes you have to place a hold—but it's completely free and supports authors through library sales. If that fails, sometimes older titles end up on sites like Project Gutenberg, but that's usually for works whose copyright has expired. For a more modern novel, that's unlikely. I'd advise steering clear of any site that promises a direct PDF download without any login or library connection; those are almost always piracy hubs and can be riddled with malware. The search can feel like a treasure hunt, but a safe one is worth the patience.
