The whole legal access thing for Korean webnovels is still a bit of a mess, isn't it? I remember hunting for this a while back. The original Korean publisher is D&C Media, and the official English licensee is Yen Press. So, any site selling it needs to be partnered with them. I'd steer clear of any 'read online free' sites that pop up first on Google—they're almost always pirated. Your best legal bet is to go directly to a major retailer's ebook storefront. I used Google Play Books because I had some credit. The experience was fine, though I missed the color illustrations from the physical edition. At least you know the translation team got paid.

Goodreads says the physical copy is published by Yen Press, so I checked their website. They usually list where you can get digital versions. For 'Solo Leveling 1', the main legal digital outlets seem to be Google Play Books, Apple Books, and Amazon Kindle. I grabbed mine from Kindle. The formatting is clean, you own it, and it syncs across devices. It's not a 'read online for free' situation, but it's a one-time purchase and you're done. Some libraries might have it through services like OverDrive or Hoopla, but that's really hit or miss depending on your local library's catalog.

Tappytoon and Manta are the main apps for the official webcomic, but for the light novel version of volume 1, you'll need to buy the ebook. Check Amazon, Barnes & Noble's Nook store, or Kobo. It's usually around nine or ten dollars. Just search for 'Solo Leveling 1 Yen Press' and you'll find it. I bought it, read it in a weekend, and don't regret the purchase at all.

I actually read the entire first novel through a subscription service called Tappytoon. They've got the official English translation under the title 'Solo Leveling: I Alone Level-Up'. It's a pretty straightforward app; you buy coins to unlock chapters or use a subscription pass. The translation quality is solid, way better than some of those sketchy aggregator sites that just machine-translate everything. The artwork for the character stats and the notifications is integrated too, which is a nice touch since it keeps the webcomic's vibe.
I know some people are frustrated that it's not on Kindle Unlimited or something with a flat monthly fee, but honestly, supporting the official release is the only way we're gonna get more stuff like this localized. It’s worth the few bucks to read it properly and not have your eyes bleed from terrible formatting.

When the apocalypse came, she lost everything. Starving, hunted, and desperate, she trusted the one man she loved… only for him to betray her in the cruelest way possible. He stole her last supplies to please another woman and left her to die in a sea of the undead.
But death wasn’t the end.
She woke up days before the world collapsed.
After cutting ties with her ungrateful ex and his parasitic family, a mysterious voice awakens in her mind, LUS, a Level-Up System designed to help her survive the coming end.
With knowledge of the future and a system guiding her every move, she begins to prepare. She stockpiles resources, builds a base, and learns how to fight back against the horrors that once destroyed her.
And when the apocalypse arrives again… she’s ready. But survival isn’t the only thing waiting for her in this new life.
A silent killer who watches her like prey.
A manipulative genius who wants to unravel her secrets.
A gentle protector who sees the girl she hides.
And a dangerous man who thrives in chaos.
As the world burns and power shifts, they’re all drawn to her, each with their own motives, each with their own darkness. Even her past refuses to stay buried.
Because now, the man who once abandoned her is back, broken, desperate, and begging for a second chance. Too bad she has no time for regrets.
Not when she’s busy rising to power… and building a kingdom in the ruins of the world.
A thirty-year-old office lady, who got into an accident and is now trapped inside a novel series she loves. She was reincarnated into one of the side character extras of the story and meets in person the tyrant magician, the playboy prince, and the clueless female lead of the story.
Evy was a simple-minded girl. If there's work she's there.
Evy is a known workaholic. She works day and night, dedicating each of her waking hours to her jobs and making sure that she reaches the deadline.
On the day of her birthday, her body gave up and she died alone from exhaustion.
Upon receiving the chance of a new life, she was reincarnated as the daughter of the Duke of Polvaros and acquired the prose of living a comfortable life ahead of her.
Only she doesn't want that. She wants to work.
Even if it's being a maid, a hired killer, or an adventurer. She will do it.
The only thing wrong with Evy is that she has no concept of reincarnation or being isekaid. In her head, she was kidnapped to a faraway land… stranded in a place far away from Japan. So she has to learn things as she goes with as little knowledge as anyone else.
Having no sense of ever knowing that she was living in fantasy nor knowing the destruction that lies ahead in the future. Evy will do her best to live the life she wanted and surprise a couple of people on the way. Unbeknownst to her, all her actions will make a ripple. Whether they be for the better or worse.... Evy has no clue.

Bima is just an introverted, scrawny kid used to living behind a gaming screen and being a constant target for body shaming. But his life takes a drastic turn when he wakes up in a ruined city crawling with zombies. In the midst of the chaos, something even stranger than the apocalypse emerges: the "Single Survival System," which hits him with absurd missions likes maintaining an ideal BMI, getting revenge on his bullies, and landing his first kiss. Every mission isn't just a ridiculous challenge; it’s a matter of life and death.
Forced out of his comfort zone, Bima must face his dark past. He crosses paths with Donny, his former bully who is now a zombie, and Kevin, an ex-gym influencer who has transformed into a fanatical cult leader obsessed with the perfect physique and extreme protein intake. Amidst the chaos, Bima meets Lia, a tough convenience store clerk who harbors a deep-seated trauma toward food. Together, they survive nonsensical threats, ranging from zombie food vloggers obsessed with livestreaming death to grotesque mutants lurking underground.
But the madness is only the beginning. Bima’s reckless actions catch the attention of a far more dangerous entity: the Master AI Fitness Freak, an artificial intelligence that views humans as inefficient unless they meet extreme nutritional standards. With the help of Riska, an AI with cold, business-like logic that shares a secret connection to Bima’s past, the battle shifts into a clash of ideologies: perfection versus happiness.
In a world that worships muscles, protein, and ruthless efficiency, Bima fights back in an unexpected way, using Indomie as a symbol of balance, hope, and humanity.
'Zsystem' is where I found myself as the sole survivor of the apocalypse.
The system is supposed to be my mother's "in sample" antidote to cure the virus. She was a mad scientist of the base where uninfected humans habitats to survive from the outer world.
While she is burying herself with works, I decided to be the useless child and the only one she has. Isn't it amusing! Being treated as the daughter of a crazy woman who is obsessed with antidotes. Even after failing hundreds and thousands of times.
She should know my well-being but she didn't. No matter how much of a genius I am, it's worthless! I am still garbage in her eyes...! I tried so hard to make her proud but all she cares about is the antidotes and saving humanity!
She even left me under my aunt's care. Not looking back even
once...!
Well, that is what I thought before the zombies conquer the base and being forced to drink a certain red liquid which is the antidote! Alast, being thrown
into a foreign system.

Willingly dying at the hands of his only teacher to repay all his debt, Hubert simultaneously plans his reincarnation and finds himself in the body of an 'evil' cultivator named wanted by one of the three strongest power of the Douluo Continent— Spirit Hall.
But hope isn't lost. His trait from his previous life never left his side and now he will make missions in the Douluo Continent and live another life, this time, a life not owed to anybody.
Finding the first volume legally is pretty straightforward if you know where to look. It's a 'light novel,' so the digital edition is your main option. I got mine from Amazon Kindle—it was just there, ready to download. The official publisher is Yen Press, and they usually have their titles on all the major platforms like Apple Books, Google Play, and Kobo too.
I'd avoid random websites claiming to have free PDFs. They're almost always pirated, and the translation quality is dodgy at best. The official version is worth the few bucks; the art reproduction is clean, and you're supporting the creators. Last I checked, it wasn't on any subscription services like Kindle Unlimited, so you'll likely have to purchase it outright.
