The catch is that the original Japanese light novel series was sadly left unfinished after the author's passing, so there are only 6 main volumes. The anime adapts the first four, more or less, but it does shuffle some arcs around and adds its own filler. After the 6th volume, there are a couple of short story collections, 'Kaze no Stigma: Ignition' and 'Kaze no Stigma: Excitement', which are just side stories and don't advance the main plot.
