Is there even a confirmed order? I've seen three different lists on various fan wikis, and none match perfectly. This is why I usually wait for a series to be complete before diving in; the piecemeal release of webnovels with bonus content creates a mess. The author sometimes releases sidestories on their blog that aren't collected neatly.
My advice is to read the main arc from start to finish, then search for any sidestories with the main couple's tag. Trying to integrate every little extra as you go will interrupt the flow for minimal payoff.

I tried to get into it but found the first few chapters slow. A friend told me to skip ahead to chapter 15 where the intrigue really starts, then loop back. It worked for me. Sometimes a strict order isn't conducive to engagement. If you're struggling, it's okay to jump to a hook point and then read the setup with the context of why it matters. It's a heresy to purists, but it keeps you reading.
Do what works for your attention span.

I've compiled a personal ePub with everything in what I believe is the optimal order, based on narrative flow and emotional beat. It weaves the sidestories in at points where they provide the most thematic resonance, not necessarily where they were published. It transformed the reading experience for me. I'd share it, but copyright, obviously.
If you have the time and own the chapters, try creating your own curated version. It's a fun fandom project.

Elina thought she had hit rock bottom.
She lost her job. Her therapy session dredged up memories of the ex-boyfriend who stalked and traumatized her. The only thing she had left to look forward to was the finale of her favorite fantasy series, Moonbound Faith.
Then the show ended.
The heroes won. The villain died. Everyone got their happily-ever-after.
That same night, a knock at her door shatters what little peace she has left.
Her ex is standing outside.
The man who was supposed to be in prison.
Forced to flee into a storm, Elina runs until she reaches the edge of a cliff with nowhere left to go. Faced with a choice between death and returning to the man who destroyed her life, she jumps.
But instead of dying, she wakes up inside Moonbound Faith.
Not as the heroine.
Not as a side character.
But as Luna—the infamous villainess whose tragic death she celebrated only hours before.
Determined to survive, Elina plans to use her knowledge of the story to change her fate. But everything she thought she knew begins to unravel when a small boy tugs on her sleeve and calls her one word:
“Mom.”
The original story never mentioned a child.
And when Elina uncovers the truth behind his existence, she realizes something terrifying.
The villainess was never the villain.
The story lied.
And the ending she remembers may not be the ending waiting for her at all.
Yan Zi, a botanist and author, accidentally transmigrated into her own historical novel as the notorious villainess. She meets Xu Kai, the handsome Co-Commander of the Imperial Military Guards, who is attracted to her during their dangerous missions together. However, knowing that she will not have a happy ending as a villainess, Yan Zi refuses to fall in love with Xu Kai. But somehow after escaping an unexpected intruder attack, watching the stars under the waxing moon, and spending a sweet and sweaty night together, everything starts to change..
Cho Sarang, the famous kpop idol and actress, finally, for the first time, decided to live out one part of her life, saying goodbye to her empty and lonely life and start anew.
But fate seems to be playing a cruel joke on her when an unexpected accident took her life, making all her dreams and hopes shattered into dust.
On top of that, she found herself transmigrated into the last novel she read, as the pitiful villainess, Belladonna Reigna Astaseul. The abandoned princess who died miserably after attempting a coup d'etat.
She died once in fire while the man she loved watched her burn without a single step forward.
Elena Vale was the villainess of a romance novel—written to be hated, destroyed, and discarded at the end of the story.
And she did die exactly like that.
Until she woke up at the beginning of it all.
The night of the Arden Charity Gala.
The night everything was supposed to start.
This time, Elena remembers everything—every betrayal, every humiliation, every moment she was written to lose.
But instead of begging for survival…
She chooses revenge.
Because if the world insists she is the villainess, then she will become one they cannot control.
A woman who does not beg for love.
A woman who builds power instead of tears.
A woman who turns her ending into a beginning of destruction.
And as she rises, something strange begins to happen.
The male lead who once ignored her starts watching.
The heroine who was supposed to replace her starts trembling.
And the system that once promised her survival begins to warn her:
[WARNING: Villainess behavior exceeds original plot limits.]
But Elena is no longer afraid of the story.
She is rewriting it.
And this time… she will be the one they fear.
The comic adaptation is so popular that many think it's the source material. If you're coming from the manhwa, the transition is seamless. Find a site that lists which web novel chapter corresponds to the end of the latest manhwa episode. Start reading the web novel from there. That's the most common and painless order for people discovering the story visually first. The comic does a fantastic job of capturing the aesthetic and key scenes, so you'll have a strong visual foundation moving into the prose. The novel's internal monologues will then add incredible depth to the characters you're already picturing. This hybrid approach is arguably the most effective and enjoyable for the majority of new fans in 2024.
My favorite part is how her modern-world perspective sneaks in. She'll compare a situation to a movie trope or make a reference nobody gets. The love interest who starts picking up on these strange comments and is fascinated by them, rather than confused, is the one for me. It's him accepting the part of her she can never fully share or explain.
The lack of a clear 'big bad' is unsettling. The antagonist is an abstract concept—the story's timeline. There's no evil wizard to defeat, no corrupt noble to expose. The conflict is against inevitability itself. This makes the struggle feel both epic and strangely intimate, a battle fought in drawing rooms and ballrooms over subtext and social cues.
It's a psychological and philosophical enemy, which is a massive departure from the physical threats and clear villains that dominate the genre. The horror is existential, not visceral.
There's a fascinating moral ambiguity at times. To survive, she sometimes has to make ruthless choices—letting a minor antagonist take a fall, withholding help from someone to serve her long-term goals, or using emotional manipulation herself. The story doesn't always paint her as purely heroic; she's a survivor first. This gray area makes her journey more compelling than if she were just a saint outsmarting villains.
My two cents: the order is obvious, but the platform choice influences the experience. Reading it on an official app gives you clean translation, consistent numbering, and sometimes author notes. Reading it on a sketchy aggregate site might present chapters out of order because they scraped them wrong.
So, the practical 'order' advice is: pick a reputable source and trust its layout. If you read on Tappytoon, the order is preset. The story itself doesn't have hidden sequences or alternate endings. It's a heartwarming (and sometimes heart-wrenching) linear progression of a mother trying to rewrite a tragic script. The chapter numbers are your guide, and they mean exactly what they seem.
Hmm, I feel like I need to re-read the story to give a proper answer. I remember the broad strokes but not the specific supporting cast who shifted. My memory's fuzzy on who did what after the halfway point.
