Tremor's backstory in 'Mortal Kombat X' is one of those hidden gems that makes you appreciate the depth of the franchise's lore. Originally introduced as a palette-swapped ninja in 'Mortal Kombat: Special Forces,' he was just a generic lackey until the 2015 game gave him a proper identity. In 'MKX,' Tremor is a Black Dragon mercenary with a unique twist—his body is infused with molten rock, granting him earth-shaking powers. What I love about his evolution is how he’s no longer just a brute; he’s a calculating warrior with a sense of pride, even if he’s working for the wrong side. His alliance with Kano and the Black Dragon adds a layer of criminal intrigue, making him more than just a punching bag for the heroes.
What really stands out is Tremor’s design—NetherRealm Studios went all out with his lava-like veins and seismic abilities. His moveset reflects his backstory perfectly, from summoning boulders to liquefying the ground beneath his opponents. It’s a brilliant way to tie gameplay to narrative. Plus, his interactions in the story mode hint at a deeper loyalty to the Black Dragon, even if they’re mostly used as comic relief. Tremor might not be the central figure in 'MKX,' but his presence adds a gritty, elemental force to the roster. I’ve always had a soft spot for underdeveloped characters who get a second chance, and Tremor’s glow-up is one of the best in the series.

She gave up, she gave in. She forgot that she was on an airplane that was now accelerating for take-off. She was far more interested in her own personal take-off – one that Hunter was controlling with hard, deep thrusts inside her as his thumb gently stroked her clit. She opened her mouth against his throat, her breath coming out in pants now.
As she approached climax, Sully gripped her chin between his fingers, forced her face up to his. Her release was muffled against his mouth and he swallowed her gasps and tiny whimpers; when she relaxed and sighed, he held her close, absorbing the aftershocks into his own body. Cordelia floated next to him, dizzy and breathless. ****

Tremor's power in 'Mortal Kombat' is one of those abilities that just feels brutally satisfying to use, especially if you love earthbending-style attacks or sheer raw force. As a character who started as a hidden boss in 'Mortal Kombat: Special Forces' before becoming fully playable in 'Mortal Kombat X,' Tremor’s whole vibe revolves around manipulating earth and stone. His moveset is packed with crushing, seismic strikes—everything from hurling boulders like they’re pebbles to summoning spikes from the ground to impale opponents. It’s like playing as a walking natural disaster, and the impact of each move sounds as heavy as it looks, thanks to those deep, rumbling sound effects.
What makes Tremor stand out, though, is how his abilities can shift depending on the variation you pick in 'MKX.' For example, 'Crystalline' turns him into a defensive tank, encasing himself in rock armor that reduces damage and even reflects projectiles. 'Aftershock' leans into his seismic theme, with shockwaves that disrupt enemy movements and extend combos. And 'Metallic'? Pure, unadulterated aggression, with metal-infused attacks that add extra brutality to his already hard-hitting style. The way his powers blend practicality with spectacle is what keeps me coming back to him—there’s nothing quite like landing a full-screen boulder toss and watching it crumple someone mid-air. Plus, his design in 'MKX' nails that 'ancient warrior fused with the earth' aesthetic, complete with glowing veins of magma under his skin. Absolute chef’s kiss for fans of elemental fighters.
The possibility of Tremor making a comeback in 'Mortal Kombat 12' is one of those topics that gets the fanbase buzzing with theories and hopes. Tremor, the earth-bending ninja, has had a pretty wild journey in the franchise—from being a obscure character in the 'Mortal Kombat: Special Forces' spin-off to finally getting his moment in the spotlight in 'Mortal Kombat X.' His unique geokinetic abilities and that sleek black-and-gold design made him an instant favorite for a lot of players, myself included. The fact that he was DLC in 'MKX' but didn’t appear in 'Mortal Kombat 11' left a lot of us wondering if NetherRealm Studios had bigger plans for him down the line. Given how the studio loves to rotate roster spots and surprise fans with deep cuts, I wouldn’t rule out his return at all.
What makes Tremor’s potential return so exciting is how much room there is to expand his gameplay and story. Imagine if they leaned even harder into his earth magic—maybe giving him seismic shockwaves or the ability to summon rock armor like a literal tank. And narratively, there’s so much untapped potential. Is he still loyal to the Black Dragon? Could he have a rivalry with someone like Geras, who also manipulates the earth but in a time-bending way? The devs have a knack for reinventing classic characters, and Tremor feels like he’s just waiting for another chance to shine. Whether he’s base roster or DLC, I’d be thrilled to see him back—his absence in 'MK11' was definitely felt, and 'Mortal Kombat 12' could be the perfect stage for his resurgence. Fingers crossed for that brutal, rocky comeback.
