Underground villages? Not exactly. But Elden Ring's subterranean worlds are something else. Siofra River feels like a dream—endless starry skies below the earth, ruins that whisper of a fallen empire. Nokron is even weirder, with its upside-down buildings and ghostly nobles. The closest you get to 'villagers' are the few surviving Nox monks, but they're more like tragic remnants than a community. It's a brilliant twist—instead of cozy hobbit holes, we get sublime desolation. Makes you wonder what happened to these places. No merchants, no blacksmiths, just echoes of greatness long faded.

Elden Ring's world is packed with hidden gems, and the underground areas are some of the most fascinating. There isn't a village in the traditional sense underground, but places like Siofra River and Nokron, Eternal City feel like lost civilizations. Siofra River especially gives off this eerie, mystical vibe with its glowing blue skies and ancient ruins. It's more of a solemn, abandoned realm than a bustling village, but the architecture and ambiance make it feel like a place where people once lived. The way FromSoftware builds these spaces makes exploration incredibly rewarding—every corner tells a story without a single line of dialogue.

Nokron, on the other hand, is a proper city, albeit long deserted. The towering structures and ghostly echoes of its past inhabitants make it one of the most memorable locations. If you're hoping for an underground village with NPCs going about their daily lives, you won't find that, but the sense of discovery in these areas is unmatched. The closest thing might be the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, but even that's more of a sinister stronghold. Elden Ring's underground is more about haunting beauty than cozy settlements.

I love how Elden Ring's underground zones subvert expectations. When I first heard about an 'underground' area, I imagined something like a dwarven city from fantasy novels—warm, lantern-lit, full of life. Instead, we got Siofra River, a breathtaking but lonely expanse with remnants of a forgotten culture. The Ancestor Spirits wandering there add to the melancholy vibe. It's less 'village' and more 'sacred burial ground.' Nokron and Nokstella are grander, but still devoid of living communities. The only real 'underground dwellers' are the Mimic Tears and those creepy silver orbs.

That said, the lack of a traditional village makes the underground feel more mysterious. If there were friendly NPCs selling items or giving quests, it would lose some of its otherworldly charm. The silence and isolation make stumbling upon a lone merchant or a wandering spirit feel like a rare, intimate encounter. FromSoftware's design philosophy clearly prioritizes atmosphere over convenience, and it works.

To reach the location, simply head east from the point of grace till you reach a ravine. You’ll find a tree at the southern side that helps you climb across the ravine and into the cave.
