Miho Okasaki! She’s Rimuru’s Japanese VA, and honestly, her cute-but-deadly voice is half the reason I stuck with the series. The way she switches from goofy ('Megiddo!') to chilling ('I’ll destroy you') gives me chills. Plus, her chemistry with other VAs (like Tempest’s founders) feels so natural.
As a longtime seiyuu fan, I geek out over Miho Okasaki’s work as Rimuru. Her voice has this bubbly, gender-neutral quality that’s perfect for a slime-turned-overpowered-being. What’s fascinating is how she subtly changes tone post-evolution—less naive, more regal—without losing Rimuru’s playful quirks. Compare episode 1 Rimuru to season 2 Rimuru; it’s like listening to a different persona layered over the same core. Also, her comedic timing with Great Sage’s dry replies? Gold.
Man, the voice of Rimuru in 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' is just *chef's kiss*! Miho Okasaki absolutely nails the dual nature of the character—playful yet powerful, innocent but wise. Her range shifts seamlessly from adorable slime noises to commanding demon lord speeches, which is why Rimuru feels so alive. I binge-watched the dub and sub back-to-back, and honestly, Okasaki’s performance is iconic. It’s wild how she captures Rimuru’s growth from a curious blob to a charismatic leader without losing that core charm.
Fun side note: Okasaki also voices other sweet-but-deadly characters like Karyl in 'Princess Connect! Re:Dive,' but Rimuru’s role is on another level. The way she balances humor and depth makes me replay scenes just to catch nuances. Also, props to the sound directors for picking her—imagine if Rimuru sounded generic!
Rimuru’s VA, Miho Okasaki, is low-key one of my favorite parts of the anime. She makes the slime’s internal monologues hilarious ('Souka…' lives in my head rent-free) while selling emotional moments like the Orc Disaster arc. Did you know she’s relatively new to major roles? Her breakout was as Karyl, but Rimuru skyrocketed her fame. The dub’s Brittney Karbowski is great too, but Okasaki’s original performance has this... effortless versatility? Like, you *believe* Rimuru is both a dork and a ruler.

Rimuru Tempest is this ridiculously charming protagonist who starts off as your average salaryman in modern Japan—until he gets stabbed and wakes up in a fantasy world as a slime. Yeah, a slime! But not just any slime; he’s got this insane ability called 'Predator' that lets him absorb and mimic anything he eats. In Volume 1, we see him name himself after the storm that forms when he befriends Veldora, this legendary dragon sealed in a cave. The whole dynamic between them is hilarious—Veldora’s this over-the-top, dramatic guy, and Rimuru’s just vibing, taking it all in stride.
What’s wild is how quickly Rimuru adapts. He’s not some overpowered hero from the get-go; he’s clever, using his slime form to experiment and grow. By the end of the volume, he’s already forming bonds with monsters in the Jura Forest, setting up the foundation for his future nation. The way he treats everyone, even goblins, with respect makes you root for him instantly. It’s like watching a cozy, chaotic family come together, and you can’t help but grin at his antics.
Man, diving into 'Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan' always feels like revisiting an old friend. Rikuo Nura, that half-human, half-yokai protagonist, is brought to life by the incredibly versatile Daisuke Kishio. His voice work here is *chef's kiss*—perfectly capturing Rikuo's duality, from the awkward schoolboy to the fierce yokai leader. Kishio's range is nuts; he also voices other iconic roles like Nagisa in 'Free!' and Accelerator in 'A Certain Magical Index,' but Rikuo stands out for how he balances vulnerability and power.
What’s wild is how Kishio makes the daytime Rikuo sound so gentle and hesitant, then flips a switch for night form Rikuo with this commanding, gravelly tone. It’s like two characters in one! I remember rewatching scenes just to appreciate the nuance. Plus, the way he delivers lines during emotional moments—like confronting his grandfather or protecting his human friends—adds so much depth to the story. Kishio’s performance is a big reason why Rikuo remains one of my favorite protagonists in supernatural anime.
'Slime Silver' has such an interesting cast! The protagonist is brought to life by Yuki Kaji, who's famous for his ridiculously wide vocal range. You might recognize him as Eren from 'Attack on Titan' or Meliodas in 'The Seven Deadly Sins.' What's wild is how different Silver sounds from his other roles - it's this perfect mix of playful and philosophical that matches the character's weird journey from blob to hero.
Kaji's performance really carries the show's tone shifts too. One moment he's doing these adorable squishy noises as a slime, next he's delivering emotional monologues about mortality. I love catching his cameos in other isekai shows now - his voice has this distinct energetic warmth that makes even exposition scenes fun.
I couldn't help but geek out when I first recognized the voice behind Rudeus in 'Mushoku Tensei'—it's Yumi Uchiyama, and she absolutely nails the role! Uchiyama has this incredible range, shifting seamlessly from Rudeus's childish whimpers to his more introspective moments. What really blew me away was how she captures the character's emotional complexity, especially in scenes where his past-life trauma bubbles up. I've followed her work in other shows like 'March Comes in Like a Lion,' where she voices Rei, and the contrast between those roles just highlights her versatility.
Fun tidbit: Uchiyama also voices Paimon in the Japanese dub of 'Genshin Impact,' which is wildly different from Rudeus. It's like hearing two completely different people! Her ability to switch between high-energy, comedic roles and deeply nuanced performances makes her one of my favorite seiyuu. If you haven't checked out her other work, I'd definitely recommend digging into her filmography—she's a treasure.
