No, Yuji isn't a Death Painting. Death Paintings are the nine special grade cursed objects born from Kenjaku's experiments with a woman with a cursed womb lineage. Yuji is a normal human who became a vessel for Sukuna, which is a completely different phenomenon. That whole area of the story—unnatural beings and the rules binding them—is pretty fascinating. It actually made me think of 'Bound By The Living Yama', where the main character finds herself magically bound to serve a terrifying lord of the underworld, with the contract's magic forcing her compliance in a really visceral way.
In 'Jujutsu Kaisen', Yuji Itadori isn't a death painting. You might be confusing him with the three death painting brothers, Choso, Eso, and Kechizu. These three are the cursed wombs who share a special bond due to their unique circumstances.
Yuji, however, is a brave young boy with immense strength and is the host of Sukuna, who carries a set of his own unique challenges and burdens. Yuji, with his unconventional formidability, challenges the status quo in a world riddled with curses.
My knowledge's adept in 'Jujutsu Kaisen', and Yuji isn’t a death painting in the story. He's a high school student who becomes conduited by the King of Curses, Sukuna. You may be getting mixed up with Choso, Eso, and Kechizu, the trio of brothers who happen to be the death paintings in the storyline, resultant of curses. Each with their own idiosyncratic stories, remember Yuji, for he got Sukuna, a different form of curse dwelling within him.
Looking at 'Jujutsu Kaisen', you might have the characters mixed up as Yuji Itadori isn't one of the death paintings. That title is for the three brothers, known as Eso, Kechizu, and Choso. Yuji, although burdened with a terrifying curse himself, as he's Sukuna's vessel, doesn't fall under the death painting category, but his journey is certainly intriguing.
Clarifying about 'Jujutsu Kaisen', Yuji Itadori isn’t one of the death paintings. Those are reserved for the trio - Eso, Kechizu, and Choso. Yuji’s role is that of Sukuna’s vessel.

I was a sketch artist acting for the police.
On a secret mission, I was discovered by a murderer. My eyes were gouged out, and my body was dismembered, unceremoniously dumped in a garbage bin.
On the brink of death, I called my boyfriend, a criminal investigator. However, he hung up on me because he was busy accompanying his first love to a prenatal checkup.
A few days later, he received a painting that was a vital clue to finding the murderer, but he thought I was playing tricks on him.
In his anger, he tore that portrait to shreds.
After he found out the truth, he spent the whole night searching through the garbage to piece it back together.
My family has always considered me a harbinger of misfortune. It's all because I can see a countdown to my relatives' deaths.
I tell them when my grandfather, father, and mother will die. It all comes true due to various accidents. My three brothers hate me to the core because they think I cursed my parents and grandfather. My mother actually dies after giving birth to my younger sister, but my brothers dote on her to no end.
They say she's their lucky star because everything goes well for the family after she's born. But didn't Mom die while giving birth to her?
On my 18th birthday, I see my death countdown when I look at myself in the mirror.
I buy an urn I like and prepare a meal. I want to have one last meal with my brothers, but none of them show up even when the timer hits zero…

I die in the basement after being burned by acid. My family doesn't recognize me, and they don't call the cops.
My mother picks up the scalpel that hasn't been used in years and debones me. My father excitedly mixes my skeleton with concrete and turns me into an exquisite statue. My sister uses the sculpture she's made out of my flesh and portrays herself as a genius sculptor whom everyone admires.
Later, the sculpture is shattered, revealing half a broken finger inside. That's when everyone panics.
Thya, the daughter of Duke D'Arcy, has the cursed power of being able to see others people's deaths by looking at them in the eye. After all the disgrace that happened to the people around her, she sees her best frien, Avyanna, the next Queen of the Maximillian Kingdom's dying because of a uncurable disease, but she can't tell that to anyone.
When her best friend ends up dying a year after that, her brother, Daisuke, ascends to the throne as the new Crown Prince and is set to get his revenge on Thya for hiding his sister's disease from everyone and 'causing' her death. But Thya refuses to interact with anyone for years, blaming herself for having such ability.
Later on when the Crown Princess Trials are announced, Daisuke made his parents summon Thya so she is obligated to participate. But afraid that she might end up dying while spending a year in the Imperial Palace, she decides to look at herself in the mirror and confront her fear.
To her dismay, she saw her dying by Daisuke's dagger two years from that moment. And that puts her on edge. After all her efforts to runaway go to waste, she has to go and face her best friend's brother and sworn enemy.
But little did they know that hatred is the closest feeling to love.
After I fail in my mission, I am about to be erased by the system and will disappear from this world completely.
In the final 24 hours before I am erased, I agree to donate a kidney to my younger brother, Zachary Durham. My wife, Judith Sanford, hugs me excitedly and says she will not divorce me anymore.
When Zachary plagiarizes my design, I take the blame and admit that I am the one who copied it. My parents nod in satisfaction, saying I have finally become sensible.
Finally, I become the good husband and son they always wanted.
But when they see my lifeless body sometime later, they all lose their minds.
I'm a huge fan of the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen." I get wheeled Yuji Itadori, and it's just a joy to watch his development. When Yuji swallowed the finger of Sukuna and died, I believe all of us were startled.
However, there is no reason for concern; Yuji is far from done. With Sukuna in possession of his body, he rises from the dead-narrative twist which is both a relief and cause for concern among friends and teachers at Jujutsu High School.
As an anime enthusiast, I can tell you that the fate of Yuji Itadori in 'Jujutsu Kaisen' is a major plot twist. Does he die? Yes, he does - at least, for a while. In a daring narrative move, our beloved protagonist faces death early in the series. But fret not, his determined spirit and the mysterious circumstances of his origin lead to his revival, which just deepens the series' plot.
Of course, he is not the bearer of the “Cursed Womb” Yūji is a naturally strong individual whose life intersects with curses when he inadvertently swallows a finger of King Curses Sukuna and becomes his host. Cursed wombs, themselves transmutated evil spirits, are a result of accumulated negative human currents or even curses.
