The symbol inside the Hollow burned into my vision. The compass. My compass. Identical. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “That… can’t be possible,” I whispered. Yet the truth pulsed through the bond, undeniable. The Hollow wasn’t simply born from imbalance. It had once been balance itself. The creature roared, its massive body writhing as silver, gold, and white light clashed against the darkness surrounding it. Cracks spread across its form, revealing flashes of the same radiant energy glowing within me.

The Hollow King’s shadows darkened violently. “You do not speak to her.” The eye ignored him completely. Its attention remained fixed on Eleanor. “The first vessel corrupted the bloodline through attachment.” Cold spread through Eleanor’s chest. First vessel. The Hollow King laughed bitterly. “There it is. Even now you cannot say my name.” The eye remained emotionless. “You ceased being what you were created to be.” The mountain shook harder. The Hollow King’s expression sharpened. “You mean I became capable of choice.” Silence followed. Terrible silence.

The others wait behind me in breathless silence. I can feel their tension like a physical thing. Caelan is the only one who steps forward, positioning himself beside me without hesitation. His palm brushes mine, and the contact sends electricity up my arm. A shape begins to form from the ash and shadow. He’s taller than I remember from my dreams. Cloaked in bones that gleam like polished ivory, crowned with antlers that drip with silver moss like tears, the Hollow King emerges from the veil between worlds. His eyes are empty sockets that should hold nothing but darkness.

With a vein suddenly burgeon her hand and in the forehead, White Crow suddenly flew sidewards and bumped strongly in the wall, when Zitrey aimed at her waist which she failed to block it. The Raven flew upwards away from them, yet rest on the roof watching.

I need to hurry. As I was barely on time, I was running towards the lift and suddenly I bumped into a hard wall. Wait... wall doesn't wear suits, do they? I just look upward, from seeing the suit and the material I felt, I can tell it must have worth a fortune and the logo on the pocket confirmed it for me. I slowly looked up and saw the greyest eyes I have ever seen in my life... They are staring at me with rage...'what have I done?' and who is this man with so beautiful grey eyes? I was staring and he was getting angrier. I should apologize before he turns into a grey hulk. So I quickly said what I can.

He looked around at the new world around him frantically, obviously confused. “Lady Abigail,” I heard from behind me and turned around. “Hermes,” I wondered where he had gone. “Hermes, please, tell me what happened.” I rose and walked to him, he no longer had his golden staff with wings. He seemed just as confused as the warrior I just healed, “I was in the heavens, staying away from the battle, then suddenly I came here, and now I am unable to open the portals and the device is missing.”

Its eyes burned like molten obsidian. The ritual ended with a sound like a crack of thunder inside the earth. Kane opened his eyes, and for a heartbeat, I didn’t recognize him. His gaze was still his… but rimmed with shadow. His skin seemed to drink in the light. Then the Hollow came. It tore itself from the fissure, massive and terrible, a shape of shifting stone and shadow bound together by a core of blinding hunger. Its eyes, that’s if they could be called that locked on me, and I felt its intent as clearly as if it had spoken: I was prey.

I got to the library, where the noise came from, and pressed a discreet button under one of the shelves. The shelves gave way in two, revealing the dark hallway that led to the dungeon. I was right. Dante Alvarez was right there on the floor, battered and bloodied, being kicked around and punched viciously, by the hefty, tattooed men that were in the dungeon with him. As I approached the dungeon doors, the men mounted there came towards me, brandishing the golf clubs in their hands menacingly, and I let out a dry scoff. It wasn’t like they stood a chance against me with those…

He kissed her forehead gently, offering a silent promise of protection, of love. Meanwhile, Kane and Bree had ventured to investigate the Hollow Fang relic. The moment they laid eyes on it, they saw that it was no longer the impenetrable object it had once been. It was fully cracked now, split cleanly in two. The fissure ran from top to bottom, and the relic no longer hummed with the power it once did. Something was wrong. And yet, it wasn’t just the relic that had changed.
