Stephanie's POV:

At 6’5”, Tyler towered over most people, his height and presence immediately commanding attention in any room. His broad shoulders and athletic build gave him the appearance of a man who is both powerful and capable, while his chiseled jawline and neatly groomed stubble add a rugged sophistication to his look. His dark brown hair, slightly wavy, was styled back neatly, revealing a high forehead and adding to his mature yet striking appearance. His hazel eyes are deep and intense, often flickering with a quiet confidence that makes him stand out.

He wore a tailored charcoal gray suit with a crisp white dress shirt, the top button left undone for a slightly relaxed look. A black leather watch sits on his wrist, and his polished black dress shoes complete his effortlessly elegant appearance.

Standing at 6’4”, Nicholas is just slightly shorter than Tyler but no less striking. His jet-black hair is tousled and styled to perfection, giving him a casual yet polished look. His sea-blue roving eyes are mesmerizing, their warmth and playfulness setting him apart from his colder twin, Alex. He had a strong jawline, high cheekbones, and a lean, muscular frame.

Nicholas was dressed in a navy-blue suit with a subtle plaid pattern, paired with a light gray shirt and no tie, giving him a refined but laid-back vibe. His brown leather loafers and a matching belt complete his outfit.

Alex, like Nicholas, stands tall at 6’4”, with a physique that mirrored his twin’s lean muscular build. However, Alex’s presence was far colder and more intimidating. His jet-black hair was longer than Nicholas’s, slicked back meticulously to enhance his sharp, angular features. His sea-blue, roving eyes are piercing and icy.

A faint scar that I hadn't noticed the night before cut through his left eyebrow, adding to his dangerous appeal, while his perfectly straight nose and high cheekbones give him an almost statuesque appearance. Alex was wearing an all-black ensemble: a sleek black suit, a matching black shirt buttoned to the top, and polished black oxford shoes. He must really have a thing for black.

Aiden, standing at an imposing 6’3”, is the embodiment of a rebellious bad boy. His silver platinum hair is styled in a messy, carefree manner, with strands falling over his forehead in a way that seems intentionally undone. His piercing gray eyes are filled with mischief and intrigue, framed by thick lashes that make his gaze impossible to look away from. His sharp jawline, slightly hollow cheeks, and perfectly arched brows give him an edgy and striking appearance. Aiden’s tattoos snake up his neck and arms.

Aiden wore a black button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to reveal his tattoos, paired with slim-fit black trousers and leather boots. He wears no tie, leaving the top buttons of his shirt undone, and finishes the look with a silver chain around his neck.

At 6’3”, Caden matches his twin’s height but stands out in every other way. His dark brown hair falls in soft, natural waves, framing his softer and more youthful features. His honey-brown eyes are warm and thoughtful, filled with an intelligence and gentleness that contrast sharply with Aiden’s edgy demeanor. His facial features are less angular, with a rounded jawline and a softer nose, giving him an approachable, almost boyish charm.

Caden wore a classic white button-down shirt tucked into beige slacks, paired with brown leather loafers. Over his shirt, he layers a light gray cardigan, giving him a more relaxed and scholarly appearance.

Guess I was too busy last night, running for my life, to notice how hot they all were.

And at that moment, I knew I wanted them.

No, something in me, something I couldn't describe. Something threatening to push its way out of me wanted them.

"My mum needs to be rushed to the hospital." The sight of the cut on her head snapped me out of my thoughts. They exchanged glances with each other before turning to look back at us.

"I'm fine, Stephanie. It's just a minor accident," my mum said, brushing off my concern.

"This is not a minor accident. You need to go to the hospital and get a checkup to make sure no vital organ was damaged," I insisted, but she remained as stubborn as ever.

"Stephanie, I'm fine. The important thing right now is getting everything ready for breakfast. You should go back to your room and change into the dress I left for you," she said, her voice calm but resolute.

I couldn’t believe her. After what had just happened to her, the only thing on her mind was having her perfect family meal together. She didn’t even care about her own safety. I was beyond irritated. Maybe this was why she left me all those years ago—to chase after a perfect man who could give her a perfect family.

"I won't be joining breakfast. I’d rather eat alone than sit with you and your fake family," I snapped, turning away to leave. But her next words stopped me in my tracks.

"I have an explanation for everything. It's time for you to know the truth. Your life will never be the same after you hear it, but it's better than being kept in the dark for twenty years. If you want to know the truth, you should join us for breakfast."

Without saying another word, I stormed out of the dining room, my anger boiling over.

Aiden’s POV:My gaze stayed locked on Stephanie as I waited for her answer, every muscle in my body pulled tight like a wire about to snap.It would be no. It had to be no. Stephanie had no business with the Argento brothers, none whatsoever. Ares was bluffing, he had to be. That was the kind of stunt he would pull: barge in, stir chaos, then stand back and enjoy the fallout. I just needed Stephanie to say it. One word. No. That was all it would take to ease the pressure building inside me, to stop the storm gathering in my chest, to keep me from doing something reckless. She looked startled, like she hadn’t been expecting his accusation. Her brows pulled together slightly, her lips parted, and for a brief second, relief washed over me. That reaction told me everything. I knew it. There was no way she had called him. No way she would willingly drag those brothers into this. Ares was lying—twisting something, manipulating the moment like he always did.I turned toward him, ready to ca

Caden’s POV: I could hear my heartbeat—loud, uneven, almost deafening, as our bodies collided. It wasn’t just contact. It felt like an impact, like something inevitable finally happening after being held back for too long. My hands found her waist, gripping her more firmly than I intended, like I needed to anchor myself to her or risk losing control completely. She held onto me just as tightly, her fingers curling into my shirt, clutching me like she was afraid I might disappear. The moment our skin touched, something ignited. Not just sparks, no, this was different. It was a wildfire. It rushed through me, sharp and consuming, burning through every ounce of restraint I thought I had. In the past, moments like this had always stirred my wolf. It would react, sure—restless, eager, drawn to her. But this… this wasn’t the same. This time, my wolf wasn’t just reacting. It was losing its mind. It surged forward inside me, clawing at the surface, desperate, no, demanding, to

Tyler’s POV:“Steph, wait!”My voice echoed down the hallway, sharper than I intended, but she didn’t slow down. Not even a flicker of hesitation. She just kept walking, dragging that box behind her like it weighed nothing, like everything she was leaving behind meant even less. The sound of it scraping against the floor grated on my nerves.“Steph, please,” I tried again, my pace quickening as I followed her. “Just stop for a second. Let me explain.”Nothing.She didn’t turn. Didn’t speak. Didn’t even acknowledge that I was there. It was like I had already become part of her past, something she had decided to walk away from without a second glance. And that hurt more than I expected. The more I watched her, the rigid set of her shoulders, the way her back stayed straight like she had locked herself into that decision, the heavier something in my chest felt. It wasn’t just frustration. It was panic. Because I could see it now, clear as day: she wasn’t bluffing. She wasn’t trying to ma

Aiden’s POV:I reached for the door handle, fingers barely brushing the cool metal, but Tyler beat me to it. His hand closed over it like he’d been expecting this exact moment, like he’d rehearsed it. For a split second, neither of us moved, just two statues frozen in the same terrible second. Then the door clicked open from the other side. The sound was quiet, almost harmless, but it hit me like a gunshot. My gaze lifted, and there she was.Stephanie.She stood in the doorway, one hand gripping the edge of it, the other dragging a box that looked heavier than it should have been. Or maybe that was just how she carried it, like it held more than clothes, more than things. Like it held everything she’d decided not to say.My stomach dropped. Why?The question surfaced instantly, sharp and desperate, but I already knew the answer. I just didn’t want to face it. I didn’t want to name it, because naming it would make it real. She was leaving. What else could it be?Still, some stubborn pa

Stephanie’s POV:The world outside the window blurred into long, smeared strokes of color—greens melting into soft grays, buildings and trees stretching and snapping back into place as we passed. I watched it all without really seeing it, my eyes fixed but my mind somewhere far from the moving car. It felt like I had slipped just slightly out of myself, like I was sitting beside my own body rather than inside it.The hum of the engine droned on, steady and almost hypnotic. Normally, I would have filled the silence but this afternoon, words felt heavy in my throat, like they would come out wrong no matter how carefully I chose them.Everything replayed in fragments. The way I felt staring realizing they were my mates. It was the best feeling in the world but I couldn't allow myself to experience it or feel good about it. It doesn't change the fact that they lied to me. It only means one thing. They didn't want me. I could help but wonder if their kindness to me was all an act because

Tyler’s POV:“Stephanie, wait,” I called after her, my voice catching somewhere between urgency and regret. She didn’t slow down, didn’t even turn her head. It was as if the sound of my voice had been carefully shut out, like a door she had no intention of opening again.I quickened my pace, my steps growing uneven against the pavement. At first, it was just a brisk walk, then something more desperate. Before I fully realized it, I had broken into a run, my chest tightening as I tried to close the distance between us. There was a time when reaching her had been the easiest thing in the world. Now, every step felt like I was chasing something already lost.“Stephanie!” I called again, louder this time, hoping, maybe foolishly, that she would stop, that she would turn around and give me something, anything, to hold on to.She didn’t.Just as I stretched my hand forward, my fingers inches away from brushing her arm, someone stepped in front of her. Stephanie came to an abrupt halt, her m

Stephanie’s POV:When I first stepped onto the field, I froze at the sight before me. Real people, actual human beings were being used in this challenge. My stomach churned with unease, but I had no other option but to participate. I couldn’t afford to back out now, not when so much was at stake.

Tyler’s POV:The hunt was going better than expected.
