Chapter 1

When Whitney Sands and her best friend arrived at the scene, the noisy hall turned quiet instantly. Everyone was afraid that Whitney would lose her temper and inflict innocent bystanders. After all, they were aware of how bad her temper was.

Whitney was the heiress to the Sands and was brought up pampered. She was spoiled, stubborn, and could never accept any mistakes. She would constantly create a huge public commotion over something she did not agree with.

Henry Jordan frowned at the sight of Whitney. "Are you following me, Whitney? Didn't you claim to no longer care about me? Why did you secretly follow me if that's true? I explained to you before that Lexie and I are…"

"I know that you've fallen in love with Lexie Fontaine, who was meant to be my replacement when I was in a coma for three years, and I know that you have a child with her," Whitney interrupted him with a small smile.

"You want her to abort the baby, but she escaped from the hospital instead to give birth to it. Now that the baby is born, you can't abandon it, which is why you're having a party to welcome it to the world. I know," Whitney said calmly without any anger.

However, Lexie trembled with fear as she fell to her knees at Whitney's feet with the baby in her arms. "I'm so sorry, Mrs. Jordan. I didn't do any of this on purpose. I just can't bear to hurt an innocent little life. I'm a religious woman who can't go against her belief to abort this baby. Please forgive me!"

Whitney ignored her and reached to touch the face of the baby in Lexie's arms, but Henry flung her hand off the moment she touched the baby. "What are you doing?! That's my child! He's innocent! Come at me if you're upset."

Henry's parents chimed in as well, "She's right, Whitney. This is just an accident. No one knows when you would wake up from your coma, and the Jordans can't be without an heir! The baby's arrival won't affect your status as Mrs. Jordan. You'll still be Henry's legitimate wife."

Whitney smiled. "Just take a look at yourselves. Why are you all looking so tense? Did I say anything about hurting the baby?"

She took out a thick envelope filled with cash and a small golden pendant and placed them in the baby's swaddle. "Be good, little boy. I hope you grow up happy and healthy."

Everyone was stunned by Whitney's action, and even Henry frowned. "Aren't you mad?"

"No, I'm not." Whitney smiled. "It's a good thing that Ms. Fontaine produced an heir for the Jordans. Why would I be mad about that? All right, I won't disturb you any further. Don't let me stop you from continuing to have fun at this party."

Whitney left the hall and walked out into the cold air. It was the end of spring, and there was still a slight chill in the air. She walked very quickly, and her best friend, Summer Thompson, caught up from behind in eight-inch heels.

Summer got into the Rolls-Royce parked at the side of the road when she saw Whitney getting into the car. The first thing Summer did was feel the temperature on Whitney's forehead. "You don't seem to have a fever. Your temperature is normal. What's wrong with you, Whitney? Why are you acting like a changed person after that accident?

"Why aren't you reacting to the fact that your husband had a baby with another woman? That's your husband, Henry Jordan! You've loved him for ten years, and the old you would have run up to that woman to give her two hard slaps!"

Whitney pushed Summer's hand from her forehead and smiled. "You said it yourself that the old me would have done that. The old Whitney Sands died in that accident."

No one knew that Whitney had entered a parallel universe during those three years when she was in a coma. She had lived with Henry there for thirty years, during which Henry cheated on her with Lexie and had a baby with her.

Whitney had caught them cheating, and she went crazy, destroying everything at the party. She ran up to Lexie and then slapped her hard several times, and wailed at Henry, crying at him to get rid of Lexie and the baby.

When Henry refused, Whitney did everything in her power to get rid of them, but all she got in return was Henry's revenge. He had used every resource at hand to destroy the Sands, bankrupting them in the end. It dealt a huge blow to her parents, and they committed suicide because of it.

As for Whitney, she was so badly tortured that she could no longer take it and jumped off a building.

When she opened her eyes next, Whitney found herself back in the real world. She initially thought that whatever happened during her coma was just a dream until she saw Henry with the woman, who was supposed to be a substitute for her. That was when Whitney realized what had happened.

She had been given a chance by the heavens to start things over, and it was an opportunity she did not want to waste. Henry was a jerk, and Whitney decided that garbage like that should be dumped. After all, she was Whitney Sands, and she did not lack suitors.

Whitney took out her phone to message the man in the parallel universe who had given her a proper burial. [I'm divorcing Henry Jordan in seven days. Are you interested in getting married?]

Henry kept yelling outside the door, as if he could stop Whitney from marrying another man if he shouted his objections with all his might, but Whitney ignored his yelling. All she did was look at the priest and answer with conviction, "I do."It broke Henry's heart, and he fell to the ground, sitting there while tears streamed down his face. "Why? Why would you marry him?""The groom may now kiss the bride," the priest announced, and Lucas lowered his head to kiss Whitney's soft lips. Everyone applauded, and the couple hugged each other as everyone shouted their blessings.Henry went crazy at the sight, and he tried to barge into the church. "Whitney!""Please leave, Mr. Jordan, or we'll be forced to take action against you."The bodyguards tried to hold him back, but Henry refused to budge. They had no choice but to resort to more violent measures. While they were punching Henry, Whitney was holding Lucas' arm, smiling as she accepted the blessing of her guests. "Whitney! I w

"She's marrying Mr. Grant today, and it's the attention of everyone citywide… I don't understand how Mrs. Jordan changed into another person in just a few short days. She used to love you so much…""Whitney isn't to blame." Henry looked up slowly. "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have been with another woman while she was in a coma. If she hadn't pushed me away in that car accident, I would have been the one in a coma. She saved my life, but I repaid her by sleeping with another woman. "I promised to break ties with that woman once Whitney woke up from her coma, but I did not keep the promise when I saw how indifferent Whitney was about my adulterous relationship. It never occurred to me that Whitney had been thinking about leaving me! I was stupid. I knew Whitney was never one to tolerate such situations."You should leave, Jake. The company has gone bankrupt, and you don't need to work for me anymore."Jake Lehman, his assistant, looked at him worriedly. "Are you alright being

Whitney thought about it for quite a while before finally getting the maids to invite Henry into the house. Henry was drenched, and the floor became covered in rainwater the moment he stepped inside. Whitney looked at him with disdain and got the maids to clean up the floor and give Henry a towel. She did not plan on letting him inside for a hot bath and a change of fresh clothes."I remember I still have several pieces of clothing left here. Can I have a hot bath here and change my clothes?""Those clothes have been thrown out long ago." Whitney did not expect him to make the request. "Also, I'm about to get married, so it isn't convenient for me to let you in for a hot bath."Henry stood silent for a long time. Whitney never used to be like this. She would always get anxious the moment he got slightly wet in the rain, but now, all she felt for him was disdain. "I don't know what I did to make you hate me so much, Whitney. I've told you before that what happened with Summer was j

"You don't need to visit me every day, Whitney. I'm feeling much better. I'm fine." Summer was not in a good place emotionally, and she stayed in bed every day, refusing to move. Her family had no idea that Summer lost her arm to save Whitney, and they felt grateful every time they saw Whitney at the hospital, lamenting about what a good friend she was.Whenever Whitney heard this, she would look at Summer's empty sleeve and start crying. "I'm sorry, Summer. If it weren't for me…""Don't be silly. This isn't your fault." Summer forced a smile at her. "I heard Lexie Fontaine is in prison now. That's great news. It's good enough to be considered revenge for both of us." "Five years in prison is letting her off too easily." Hate flashed in Whitney's eyes. "I won't let Henry get away with this either. Lucas has been planning ways to buy out his company. I'll get revenge on your behalf, Summer. I won't let them have it easy!""Stop beating yourself up about this. Have you forgotten tha

Whitney went to the hospital to visit Summer after visiting her mother, and Lucas volunteered to go with her. When they arrived outside Summer's hospital room, they bumped into Henry, who was there to see Summer as well.Henry had just left the police station. He had spent one night there after being arrested and was only allowed bail the next day. As for Lexie, she was not able to escape prison. In the dimly lit corridor, Henry saw Whitney hugging another man's arm right away. The sight hurt his eyes, and he quickly approached them to pull Whitney away from Lucas to stand right in front of him. "Do you know what you're doing, Whitney? Why are you clinging to another man in bright daylight?""Another man?" The look on Lucas' face changed as he reached out to pull Whitney back into his arms. "Are you talking about me, Mr. Jordan? Have you forgotten that you and Whitney are divorced, and she's now my wife? It's normal for a wife to hold onto her husband's arm."Henry looked at him an

The next day at the Sands', Whitney was sitting on the couch, watching television, while her mother, Diana, kept staring at her. It unsettled Whitney, and she turned off the television to look back at her mother. "Is there something you'd like to say to me, Mom?" Diana hesitated for quite a while before asking, "I heard you made a police report to have Henry arrested. Is that true? What about that post you made on social media? Have you really divorced Henry and married Lucas Grant instead?" It shocked Diana to see the post online, especially when Whitney and Henry had been married for years, and it was doubtful that things between them could get so serious. "It's true that I called the police about him, but he's pretty resourceful to have avoided prison, hasn't he?" Whitney's eyes narrowed as a cold look flashed in them. "He should consider it lucky that I didn't make him and Lexie Fontaine pay for what they did to Summer with their lives.""So, it's true that Summer's arm was
