Chapter 2

_{Catalina commended their work, saying "good job," amidst the post-work high-fives and packing.}

_{“Be here promptly at eight tomorrow,” Catalina said. With nods of agreement, they quickly ran away, Catalina then went to join her parents, taking a seat between them.}

_{“Hey, what are you two talking about,” Catalina asks?}

_{“We talking about what a great teacher you've become. Stroking her hair, her mother said.}

_{Catalina declared, “I’ve learned a great deal from my three best teachers.”}

_{“Catalina, it's good to know; please cover for your grandfather today and teach the teenagers the pack's history. “I trust you with this, knowing you’re aware of the reasons,” William said.}

_{Catalina's nod conveyed her thorough understanding of the pack and its ideals. The Black Vendetta Pack, established by her grandfather, was almost 45 years old. Teaming up with two close friends, he initiated this with Alphas from a different pack; eventually, they formed a brotherhood.}

_{Standing out as the most extensive pack in Michigan is its inclusive acceptance of all refugees, including omegas, rogues, and others searching for a place where they can belong without fear of judgment for their history.}

_{Just as he had taught William when young, Logan taught Catalina this principle: "Judge no one on their past, lead them to a better future."}

_{"Yes, Dad, teaching young people would be an honor. Catalina hinted, "Despite my youth, they must understand our principles."}

_{“I appreciate it so much”.}

_{Catalina said, “Dad, there’s no need to thank me; we all need to contribute for the greater good.”}

_{William asked, “How did you become such a good child?”}

_{"That's from my family side," Vanessa interrupted.}

_{“Vanessa, remember that my father and I both contributed to this. You know, she’s the spitting image of my mother.” William sighed.}

_{“That’s where I got my hair color, right?” Catalina asks.}

_{William responded, "Because you were born with that color, I genuinely think so," as he leaned back and considered how his mother looked. His memories were limited because he was only five when she died. He may forget many things, but he never forgets her hair color. Her white hair, a beacon against the dark gray winter sky, made her look like a beautiful goddess as the wind blew. Just the idea of his mother made him cry.}

_{The Alpha's pain was noticed by both Vanessa and Catalina, who then consoled him. Catalina switched seats with William, leaving William in the middle. With Vanessa’s comforting words, “It is okay, William. Release it,” they held him close.}

_{“Sweetheart, it’s a challenge to do that while upholding my alpha image and avoiding showing weakness.”}

_{Addressing her father, Catalina declared, "You are not weak, Dad. You are one of the strongest men I know.  Shame on you if you think crying is a sign of weakness!"}

_{“William, you're not weak, our daughter is correct. Your father's influence helped shape you into a strong, kind, and selfless person. My love for you is not because of the moon goddess, it's because of who you are. I found you because of my heart, and I'm eternally grateful to the moon goddess for you, my Luna,” Vanessa expressed.}

_{Looking at his wife and daughter, William couldn't help but smile, embracing them happily. He counts himself fortunate to have a family that cares so deeply for him. Even when things are tough, he can always count on his family. As they embraced, a man interrupted, saying, “Alpha, I'm sorry to interrupt, but Beta Taylor needs you.”}

_{Before answering, William smirked. "Jacob," he said, "you don't need to call me Alpha so often.Plus, I've known you your whole life. We consider you like the son we always wanted.}

_{Deep down, both Alpha and Luna longed for more children while Luna carried Catalina. Due to childbirth complications and the doctor's recommendation against future pregnancies, they decided not to try for another child.}

_{"In any case, Jacob," Vanessa stated, "I recall you and Catalina, as children, always going to the toilet together."}

_{With a red face, Catalina said to her mom, "That is so embarrassing."}

_{"It's amazing how quickly time passes, and seeing you two all grown up, ready to be our future Alpha and Beta, is the best thing ever," Vanessa sighed.}

_{William said, “Vanessa, imagine these two getting married someday.”}

_{"Dad, Jacob and I are only friends, that's it; I don't think anything more is going on."}

_{“Catalina, you never know, sometimes friendships turn into something more, like your mother and me. The decision rests solely with the moon goddess.” William informed them.}

_{Jacob winked at Catalina; then, time flew by, and William suddenly realized what Jacob had said. “Okay, I need to go to a meeting,” he explained, “so I mustn’t be late. Catalina, don't forget you're teaching class today.”}

_{"You're right, Jacob.  Will you join me?"}

_{“Of course, since I have nothing else to do, I might as well join in while you teach,” Jacob implied.}

_{Catalina nudged Jacob playfully, saying, “Let’s go! Bye Mom and Dad, see you later!” Catalina spoke as they walked away.}

_{William and Vanessa simultaneously said, "Later."}

_{As Catalina and Jacob walked on, Vanessa could not help but smile; William put his arm around her and said, "My love, I see only greatness in them."}

_{Vanessa looked at them once more and chuckled at William, saying, "I agree."}
