MasukThe next day, I took a shower with a joyful heart. My happy voice echoed in the spacious bathroom as I soaped my body in slow motion, imagining whose hands I wanted doing this.
I danced a little under the stream of warm water, imagining Gabriel's face as he drove Selly from this house. My hands fumbled for the shower head, trying to adjust the water flow, but in my overzealousness, I pulled it too hard and broke it.
"AAH!"
The broken shower head gushed water like a small waterfall, drenching my entire body and flooding the bathroom floor. I slipped, grabbing onto the shower curtain to steady myself.
In less than ten seconds, the bathroom door swung open.
"Seraphina!"
Gabriel stood there with a panicked expression. His eyes immediately took in the scene: the water flooding the floor, the broken shower head, and me standing there soaked and completely unclothed.
In a few quick strides, he approached the main tap and turned it off. The gushing water finally stopped.
I snapped back to reality and panicked, then I grabbed the nearest towel and hurriedly wrapped it around myself.
"I'm fine. I'll get ready to go to the psychologist," I said, walking towards the door.
But before I could pass him, his strong hand pushed me roughly towards the cold tiled wall. My back hit the hard surface, making me gasp. The towel I held tightly almost came loose.
He moved closer, his large, warm body almost pinning me down. I could see the water droplets still clinging to the hair on his chest, see the lines of his tense abdominal muscles.
"After playing with the shower, what's the next game, Seraphina?"
"It was an accident," I replied.
His other hand rose, and I thought he would slap me, but instead he planted his palm on the wall beside my head, fully trapping me.
"You think these childish feelings of yours are a joke?" he asked.
"They're not childish! You're the one who refuses to see me! You're the one hiding behind your Alpha and Daddy roles!"
He moved even closer, until I could feel his warm breath on my face. "You want me to stop being your Daddy? How do you want me to treat you? Like a grown woman?"
My chest rose and fell rapidly beneath the towel, my heart pounding wildly. I saw his tense jaw, his sharp gaze, and the wild energy radiating from him. This was a different Gabriel.
He raised his other hand and touched the edge of the towel I was clutching. His warm fingers almost touched my skin.
"You started this game and you don't even know the rules."
He pulled on my towel and the fabric loosened. I didn't know what was louder, the beating of my heart in my ears or the sharp hiss of Gabriel's breath as my lips touched his. I had prepared myself to be rejected, pushed away, even yelled at, but his reaction completely shocked me.
One hand left the wall and grabbed the base of my thigh with a strong grip, then pulled my body closer until there was no gap between us. The towel, which had been my pitiful protection, was trapped between us, wet and messy.
And his mouth... oh, his mouth finally responded.
His lips crushed mine, his teeth nibbled gently before his tongue slipped in, exploring every corner of my mouth. This was a Gabriel I had never known. Gabriel the Alpha, relinquishing all control to me.
My hands now gripped his hard shoulders, my nails digging into his skin through his thin pajama top. I responded with equal wildness, then bit his lower lip, hearing him grunt in pain.
He was the first to draw breath, breaking the kiss with a rough movement, but his forehead still rested against mine, his heavy breaths mingling with mine. His eyes were tightly shut, as if trying to collect himself. His body still pinned me to the wall, trembling slightly with either anger or passion, I couldn't tell.
"What have we done?"
He opened his eyes and looked at me as if searching for an answer.
I didn't answer. I just stared at him and realized the towel was almost open.
He took a step back, then two steps away from me. He leaned his head against the wall opposite, his hands covering his face.
"Get out of here now," he said, as if regretting the heated kiss.
Instead, I stepped closer and let the towel fall to the wet floor.
"You can't deny it anymore, Gabriel. You want me just as I want you."
He lifted his face, and in those blue eyes, I saw him beginning to falter. He saw me, truly saw me, not as the child he saved, but as a grown woman.
"You are the worst thing that has ever happened to me," he murmured.
I couldn't let him go. With my heart pounding, I slammed the bathroom door open and ran after him. He was almost at his room.
"Gabriel, wait!"
I kept running and my arms wrapped tightly around his body from behind, pressing my wet cheek against him. I could feel his entire body stiffen.
"I love you, I truly love you, Gabriel. Not like a child loves her father," I said.
He stood still, his breath heavy. He remained silent for a long time, before finally, with a slow movement, he loosened my embrace and turned to face me.
"Love is never enough in our world. You know that."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because you are human! Our Pack's law, rules that are centuries old, are very clear. An Alpha must not, and will never, take a human as his official mate, as his Luna."
"I don't care about the Luna title!" I cried, holding him tighter.
He raised his hand and lifted my chin, forcing me to look directly at him.
"It's about your life. Your life would be in danger as an Alpha's mate." His fingers traced my jawline. "But there is another way."
I stared at him seriously, as if there was still hope of having his love.
"No one can know," he whispered, bringing his face closer, until his breath fanned my lips. "This will be our secret," he said.
"You'll accept me?" I whispered, almost in disbelief.
He didn't answer with words. Instead, he bent his head, and his lips touched mine once more. A few seconds later, he pulled away, his eyes looking deeply into mine as if branding my image into his memory.
"From now on, whenever you call me 'Daddy' in public, only you and I will know the true meaning behind it."
SERA'S POVI stared at the evening sky that was beginning to turn orange, the same color as when Gabriel first took me for a walk on the beach in Fiji years ago. Time passed so quickly, but every moment felt like it was just yesterday."Do you remember when we first met?" Gabriel asked.I laughed softly. "How could I forget? I was still a child. You came to my uncle's house with an angry face covered in blood. I thought you were a monster.""And now?""Now I know you are a monster. But a monster that I love."Gabriel laughed. "I'm a lucky monster.""We're both lucky."From inside the house, I heard laughter. Lucas and his wife, Elena, were playing with their two year old daughter. Ethan and his partner, a beautiful werewolf named Rhea, were helping prepare dinner. Noah and his wife, Mia, a human who had managed to steal my quietest son's heart, sat in the corner of the living room, talking softly while occasionally laughing."Mom! Dad! Dinner's ready!" Ethan shouted from inside. We st
SERA'S POVWe laughed, joked, and enjoyed the warm evening. I looked at my little family, Gabriel beside me, Lucas who was beginning to show signs of maturity, Ethan who still had his childish enthusiasm, and Noah who was quiet but attentive. They were everything to me. They were the reason I survived through every storm."Mom," Lucas called suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence."Yes, sweetheart?""I want to ask you something."I looked at him, seeing the serious expression on his face. "Of course, son. What is it?"Lucas hesitated for a moment, then spoke. "Do you ever regret it? Marrying Dad? Going through all of this?"The question hung in the air. I could feel all eyes on me, Gabriel beside me, Ethan and Noah across the table. They were all waiting for my answer.I took a deep breath, then smiled. "No, Lucas. I never regretted it. Even in the darkest moments, when I thought I would lose your father forever, I never regretted choosing him."Lucas blinked. "Really? Even though
SERA's PovI was silent. Elder Beatrice's words echoed in my ears. A decades old ban, a law deeply rooted in pack culture, was about to be lifted. I couldn't believe it. I almost couldn't believe it."Are you serious?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.Elder Beatrice smiled, her eyes sparkling with warmth I rarely saw on the elders' faces. "I'm serious. For years, we have seen the suffering caused by this ancient rule. We saw how Gabriel almost lost you. We saw how true love was destroyed by fear and prejudice. We don't want that to happen again."I felt my chest tighten. For thirteen years, Gabriel and I had to fight against that rule. We had to hide, run, and almost die just because we loved each other. And now, that rule would be abolished. By the elders' own decision."What made you change your minds?" I asked.Elder Beatrice sighed. "We saw you. We saw how you fought for your children. How you survived even when everything seemed impossible. We saw how Gabriel changed from a co
SERA's PovThe days after Selly's trial felt like a weight slowly lifting from our shoulders. The small house on the edge of the forest was once again filled with laughter and jokes, as it should be. But there was one thing that bothered me, something I couldn't explain. Maybe because I was used to the tension for so many years, or maybe because there was a feeling I couldn't ignore. One night, while Gabriel was reading in the living room and the kids were asleep, I sat beside him. He looked at me for a moment, then closed his book."You have something on your mind," he said."Have you ever thought about the future, Gabriel? About what will happen after all of this?"He put his book down on the table. "I always think about the future. But this time, I'm not just thinking about it, I'm planning it. With you."I smiled faintly. "I'm serious. We've been through so much. Betrayal, separation, battles, death. Aren't you afraid that something bad will happen again?""I'm afraid, Sera. But I
SERA's Pov.It had been over a month since we returned from our honeymoon.Days passed quickly, full of activity and togetherness. Gabriel was busy fixing the company that had been nearly destroyed under Marcus's leadership, while I helped reorganize the administration and made sure everything ran smoothly. Lucas, Ethan, and Noah were also involved, each finding their roles in the family and the pack. But today was different.I woke up earlier than usual. In the kitchen, Gabriel was already sitting with a cup of coffee, his face serious."What happened?" I asked, sitting beside him.He looked at me, his eyes heavy. "Selly was captured. Today she goes on trial."I fell silent.Selly, the woman who used to be Marcus's right hand. The woman who helped plan the betrayal, who helped separate us, who almost destroyed our family. After Marcus's death, Selly fled and went into hiding. But eventually, the pack found her."Today?" I asked."At ten. I have to be there as Alpha."I nodded. "I'm c
SERA's Pov."You two need to go on a honeymoon."I nearly choked on my coffee when Lucas said that. We were having breakfast together on a bright morning, Gabriel beside me, Lucas across from me, Ethan next to him, and Noah at the end of the table with a book in his hand."What?" I asked, putting down my cup."A honeymoon," Lucas repeated patiently. "You and Dad never had one, right? Back then you were busy with babies, then Dad left, and now you're together again. It's time for you two to go away together."Ethan nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, Mom! We're grown up now. We can take care of the house ourselves. We can even cook.""I remember the last time you cooked, the kitchen almost caught fire," Noah said without looking up from his book."That was because the stove was broken!""The stove was fine. You forgot to turn off the heat."I laughed. Lucas and Ethan often argued about small things, but that's what made the house feel alive. Noah, as usual, was the sharp observer.Gabriel
The next day, the decision to go with Gabriel to his workplace felt like the only logical choice. The alternative was to spend the day alone in his luxurious apartment that felt like a marble-clad prison, obsessing over David, my uncle, and all the threats out there. At least, amidst the bustle of
Sweat still dampened my skin as I stepped out onto the balcony. The cool night air touched my body, which had just been shaken by pleasure, making me shiver slightly. There, standing with his back to me, was Gabriel. His sharp silhouette was perfectly carved in the moonlight, his cigarette smoke da
From behind the glass door, I heard Elena’s voice.“I will return home tomorrow, but before that, I will make sure that human girl is sent away from here.”I pulled the blanket around my body tighter, trying not to make a sound.“I already told you, she will move house, but tomorrow because it is a
Night fell quickly. The streetlights outside seeped through the gaps in the curtains. I was sitting on the living room floor when the sound of a turning key was heard. The door opened, and Gabriel entered alone, without his guards. He carried a large paper bag."Dinner," he said shortly, placing it
