LOGINNaya’s POV
The sun was unforgiving. It beat down on my skin as I walked toward the pack house, each step heavy, unsteady, like my body hadn’t caught up with the fact that I was still alive. The afternoon heat pressed against my bruises, making every mark ache, every breath feel deliberate. “You’re Pregnant.” The word wouldn’t leave me alone. It echoed in my head, louder than my footsteps, louder than the world around me. Pregnant… how? I’d never been with anyone. I mean.. I’m still a virgin… Never even been kissed. I had spent 16 years of my life doing absolutely nothing but work in obedience and silence. I cleaned. I served. I practically stayed invisible. So how? My hands shook by my sides as my thoughts spiraled. My chest tightened, panic creeping back in. “How the hell could this even be possible?” I muttered in frustration and stopped walking. The healer’s voice drifted back to me, clear and calm, cruel in how easily she’d said it. “From the look of things, you’re about six weeks along.” Six weeks? Six weeks…! My breath caught. That was… ***Flashback*** I lay stiffly on the examination bed, my fingers twisting together over my stomach as I stared up at the ceiling. The clinic smelled of antiseptic and herbs, clean and cold. The door opened. The doctor walked in, flipping through a file. “Miss Nai,” she said, picking up my file with a casual air, “Everything looks good. You’re in perfect condition.” I blinked. Miss Nai? Who.. me? She continued, almost casually, “If the implantation is successful, we should see positive results in about a month.” I blinked. “Implantation?” Before I could ask what she meant, she snapped a pair of gloves onto her hands. “Please spread your legs.” Confusion flickered through me, but some how I obeyed. A moment later, discomfort turned into sharp pain. I gasped, fingers clutching the sheet as something cold and invasive pressed inside me. Then… Just as quickly as it started, it stopped. “Done!” She declared tearing the gloves off, my legs shook from the brief pain as I tried to process what had just happened. “I’ll need you to return in a month for the first round of testing,” she added, already moving toward the door. And just like that, she was out of the room, while I still clutching my knee in disbelief. I had nothing to worry about, right? ***** “Hey.. you!” I stumbled forward as someone shoved me hard between the shoulder blades. I gasped, barely catching myself before I fell. My heart slammed against my ribs as I turned. It was Gwen. Lady Ruby’s right hand. I swallowed hard. Her expression was sharp, unyielding, eyes flicking pointedly ahead of me. “Eyes forward,” she snapped quietly. Dread pooled in my stomach. I turned back slowly. Lady Ruby Thornton stood a few steps away, regal and terrifying in her elegance. Her posture was perfect, her presence suffocating. Power rolled off her in waves after all she is My Alpha’s mate and the Luna of Mystic falls My gaze dropped instantly to the ground. “So,” she said coolly. “This is the dirty wolfless slut my Alpha wants to fuck.” My head snapped up. I shook my head frantically, words caught in my throat. I couldn’t even force a denial past my lips. Her eyes flicked to my neck. To the bruises. To the claw marks. Shame burned through me. I lifted a hand, trying to hide them with my hair. Too late. Her wolf surged forward. I felt it before I saw it… the pressure, the threat, the sharp scrape of claws as she stepped into my space. Her hand shot out, fingers clamping painfully around my cheeks, forcing my face up. I whimpered as pain shot through my jaw. “Those marks you’re trying so hard to hide,” she said softly, dangerously, “will be the least of your worries if I ever see you anywhere near my Alpha again.” Her eyes bored into mine. “From now on, you’re confined to kitchen duties. You will not step foot near the main pack house unless I say otherwise. Am I clear?” I nodded violently, tears blurring my vision. “Yes… yes, Luna,” I choked out. She shoved me away, her wolf receding as quickly as it had appeared. She turned to Gwen. “Make sure she’s removed from the main house today.” “Yes, Luna.” And just like that, they were gone. I almost collapsed where I stood. The sob tore out of me before I could stop it. My body shook as fear, humiliation, and despair crashed over me all at once. Lady Ruby was ruthless. Every slave knew it. We’d witnessed her destroy Alpha Louise’s mistresses without pity. And now she sees me as a threat to her marriage. “Oh Goddess..” To think that this wasn’t even the worst part. My hands trembled as I pressed them to my stomach. I’m Pregnant. If word spreads… if Lady Ruby catches wind of it.. she might think the child is Alpha Louise’s… Oh Goddess.. I'm done for. She would not hesitate to kill me. And the baby. I sucked in a shaky breath and forced myself to stand. I have to fix this… I need to find out how I'm pregnant and whose child I'm carrying. And to do this I have to return back to that Clinic.. That is the only place I might find the answers that could save my life.Naya’s POVThe first thing I noticed was the smell.Antiseptic.Medicine.Clean sheets. It was so different from the scent of the forest that for a moment, I wondered if everything that had happened had only been a nightmare. Then the pain hit.A sharp ache spread through my side, forcing a groan from my lips.My eyelids fluttered open. The ceiling above me was white.Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting soft rays across the room.“…Arthur.”The name escaped my lips before I even realized it.My head snapped from side to side. The crib beside my bed was empty.Panic shot through me.“Arthur!”I tried to sit up.Pain immediately exploded through my stitches, but I ignored it.“My baby!”The door burst open.“Naya!”Nikolas hurried inside with Winnie close behind him. Both of them looked relieved.“Easy,” Nikolas said, gently helping me back against the pillows. “You’re going to reopen your wound.”“My son!”I grabbed his arm.“Where’s Arthur?”“Is he alright?”“Please tell m
Naya’s POVEverything stopped. The forest. The wind.Even my own breathing. My eyes locked onto the tiny silver blade pressed against Arthur’s fragile neck.He was crying. His tiny hands waved helplessly through the air as Valkyra held him like nothing more than a bargaining chip.My heart shattered.“Arthur…”His cries grew louder the moment he heard my voice. He knew I was here.He knew his mother had come.Tears burned my eyes.“Please…”My voice trembled despite every effort to steady it.“Don’t hurt him.”Valkyra laughed. It wasn’t the confident laugh I’d heard so many times before. This one was different.Broken.Desperate.“You finally know fear.”She tightened her grip on Arthur, causing him to cry even harder.“I’ve lost everything because of you!”I didn’t answer.I couldn’t.Every instinct inside me screamed to attack her.To rip her apart. To end this nightmare once and for all.But one careless move…One wrong step…And Arthur would pay the price.Behind me, I heard movem
Naya’s POVPain. It was everywhere.Every breath burned like fire inside my lungs. The silver dagger buried in my side felt as though it was melting through my flesh, poisoning every nerve in my body.I couldn’t move.Couldn’t think. All I could hear was my own ragged breathing and the frantic pounding of my heart. Then…A cry.Arthur.The faint sound of my son’s cries reached my ears.My eyes shot open.He was there.Only a few feet away.Wrapped tightly in a blanket, lying inside a wooden basket beneath one of the ancient trees.“My… baby…”I tried to crawl toward him.But a heavy boot slammed into my shoulder, forcing me back to the ground.Valkyra.She looked down at me with a cruel smile.“You really are pathetic.”She kicked me again.“You had all that power… yet you still lost.”Across the clearing, I heard another painful grunt. My head snapped toward the sound.Zane.Fenrir had him pinned against the trunk of a massive oak tree.Dark vines wrapped around his arms while Fenrir
Naya’s POVThe cold air rushed against my face as I crouched behind the thick oak tree, my pulse pounding so loudly I could barely hear anything else.Damn it.I had been discovered. The moment Elder Fenrir’s gaze landed on the tree I was hiding behind, I knew there was no point pretending anymore.A slow smile spread across his wrinkled face.“I thought I smelled something…” he chuckled darkly. “Turns out our little Luna decided not to listen.”My fingers curled into fists.Zane slowly turned. The instant our eyes met…His face drained of color.“Naya…”The disappointment in his voice hurt more than I expected.I stepped out from behind the tree, refusing to hide any longer.“I’m sorry.”His jaw clenched so tightly I thought his teeth would crack.“I told you to stay in Moonveil.”“I couldn’t.”“You promised.”“I never promised!” I fired back, my own emotions spilling over. “You asked me to stay… but Arthur is my son too! How do you expect me to sit in that castle while my baby is ou
Naya’s POV The steady hum of the SUV beneath me did little to calm the storm raging inside my chest.Curled beneath the thick blanket on the back seat, I forced myself to breathe as quietly as possible. Every bump in the rough forest road tugged painfully at my still-healing wound, but I ignored it.Pain meant nothing now.Arthur.That was all I could think about. My little boy…Was he crying? Was he hungry?Did he think I had abandoned him?The thought alone nearly shattered me.I bit down hard on my lower lip, refusing to let a sob escape.No.I had to stay focused.I had to.Outside, I could hear the muffled voices of Zane and Nikolas from the front seats. Their conversation drifted back to me over the low growl of the engine.“…we’re almost there.”“I don’t trust this.”“Neither do I.”The SUV slowed. My heartbeat quickened. We had arrived.A moment later, the engine went silent. The driver’s door opened. Then the passenger’s.Their footsteps crunched against the leaves outside.
Naya’s POVI couldn’t breathe. The note trembled violently between my fingers as every word carved itself deeper into my heart. If you want to see your child alive…The sentence replayed endlessly until everything around me became muffled.“Naya?”Zane’s voice sounded distant.“Naya… what’s in the letter?”I looked up at him, but nothing came out.My throat had completely closed. The room blurred behind the tears gathering in my eyes, and without saying a single word, I slowly stretched my trembling hand toward him.He frowned before taking the folded paper from me.His eyes moved across the page.Once.Then again.I watched the exact moment his expression changed. His jaw locked. His breathing became heavier. The veins around his neck stood out as his pupils flashed gold. Then—A deafening roar exploded from his chest. The entire nursery shook.Furniture rattled violently as his Alpha aura burst free, thick enough to make every guard instinctively lower their heads. His wolf surged s
