LOGINNaya’s POV
My palms were slick with sweat by the time I reached the clinic desk. “I… I need to see Doctor Claire,” I said quietly. The nurse barely glanced up at first. “Name please?” “Naya,” I replied. “Naya Rowenfall.” Her head snapped up. Her eyes widened. For a heartbeat, she just stared at me like she was seeing a ghost. “T-the doctor is in her office,” she said quickly, standing halfway from her seat. “She’s… been expecting you.” My stomach dropped. “Expecting me?” I echoed. “Why?” The nurse swallowed. “Doctor Claire will explain better.” That was all she said before returning to her work. No comfort. No reassurance. Just that. I nodded stiffly and turned away, my legs already trembling as I walked down the hallway. Every step felt heavier than the last. The corridor stretched too long, the silence pressing in around me. What was going on? I stopped in front of the door marked “Resident Doctor.” My hand hovered in the air. If I walked in there, denial would die. But denial was a luxury I couldn’t afford… not with my life at stake. Living in denial would mean suicide. I knocked. No answer. I pushed the door open. Doctor Claire sat behind her desk. She smiled when she saw me but it wasn’t warm. It was strained. Tired. Fear sat heavy in her eyes, barely masked. Her office looked… wrong. Drawers half open. Papers scattered. A lamp knocked askew like someone had searched the place in a hurry. “Miss Naya, come on in” she said softly. “Please… sit.” I did. My knees bounced uncontrollably as I folded my hands together in my lap. “I was here six weeks ago,” I began quickly, not giving myself time to lose courage. “For a Pap smear examination.” She nodded. “I was told this morning by a healer from my pack that I’m pregnant.” I let out an awkward laugh. “Funny, right? Because I’m still a virgin. So unless there’s another explanation, I believe the test is wrong.” My laughter died in the silence. Doctor Claire adjusted herself in her chair. Leaned forward. Exhaled slowly. “Miss Naya,” she said, voice trembling despite her effort to keep it steady, “I’m afraid the result is accurate.” The room tilted. My legs stopped shaking, only because they’d gone numb. I stared at her. Then I laughed again, breathless and hollow. “Doctor, This isn’t funny anymore, I just told you I’m a virgin. I’ve never been with anyone.” She dropped her gaze. “I wish it was a joke,” she whispered. My chest tightened painfully. “I… I made a mistake,” she continued. “A terrible one.” She clasped her hands together, fingers trembling. “There were two patients scheduled that day. You… and another woman. Nai.” She swallowed. “The files were mistakenly switched.” My ears rang. “She had been screened and approved,” the doctor continued, her voice shaking now. “She was contracted to be Alpha Zane’s surrogate.” My stomach dropped. “And you?” she whispered. “You were supposed to undergo a Pap smear examination same day.” I stared at her, numb. “I… I mistakenly inseminated you instead.” The words slammed into me like a physical blow. Inseminated. That was it… The sharp pain. The word implantation I hadn’t understood then. “Oh, Goddess,” I breathed. “No…” I whispered, shaking my head violently. “No, no, no… this can’t be happening.” Tears burned my eyes as panic consumed me. “I’m just a slave,” I cried. “I belong to Mystic Falls royal family. If they find out I’m pregnant, my masters will have my head. You don’t understand…” “I do understand,” she said quickly, reaching for me. I recoiled. “Then fix it!” I sobbed. “Please! You have to fix it! I can’t carry this child… please.. just.. just abort it!” The word hung in the air. Her face drained of color. Before she could respond… The door slammed open. “Who dares threaten the heir of Moonveil?” The voice was cold. Commanding. Absolute. My heart plummeted into my stomach. Slowly, I turned. And there he stood like something carved from myth. My heart began to beat uncontrollably. He looked like a God… Clean-shaved. Low-cut hair. Hazel eyes sharp enough to cut through bone. A body built like a god of war.. broad shoulders, lethal calm, power rolling off him in suffocating waves. A screech echoed in my head. “Heir of Moonveil.” My blood ran ice cold. If this child is Moonveil’s heir… Then the man before me could only be… ALPHA ZANE! The ruthless Alpha who murdered his own father just to become Alpha. The Alpha who razed packs to the ground without mercy. The Alpha whose name was whispered in fear. “What the fuck…” my mind whispered. He stepped closer. “Is this the one carrying my heir?” he asked. My body shook. “Yes, Alpha,” Doctor Claire muttered behind me. His gaze never left me. “So! You are Naya,” he said. Hearing my name on his lips did so many wrong things to my insides. My stomach green flutters and my cheek flushed on its own. I nodded. He leaned in. I froze. He inhaled deeply. Then straightened. “Anyways, I have no need for you,” he said coldly. “All I need is my child.” My eyes widened.. wait… what? was he going to kill me? My legs gave out. I collapsed to my knees. “Please!” I sobbed. “Please, Alpha… spare me!” He ignored me. “I hear you are a Thornton slave,” he continued calmly. “No Ashfang blood will be raised in a traitor's land… You will return to Mystic Falls, gather your belongings, and return here before noon tomorrow. I will come for you.” He turned to Doctor Claire. “Ensure everything is in order before my arrival.” He didn’t give me a second glance he turned and bolted. Just like that. I collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. How fast had I moved from frying pan to fire. If I was scared of what Lady Ruby would do to me if she found out I was pregnant, I cannot imagine what Alpha Louise would do if he finds out I’m carrying Alpha Zane Ashfang’s Blood. Death waited on every path. “I’m so sorry, Naya,” Doctor Claire whispered behind me. I grabbed her hand desperately. “Please help me. Please… you have to abort this child, I can’t….” She shook her head violently. “If that child so much as bleeds,” she whispered, “Alpha Zane will kill every person in this clinic. Please Naya, do this for us all” My hand flew to my stomach. In that moment of panic something stirred. I felt movement and I knew it was the pup. This child… It hadn’t done anything wrong. It’s only offense was carrying a monster’s blood Could I sit and let this child grow up in blood and war? Of course not. Besides, this child is mine too I slowly stood. I couldn’t sit and let these people decide my fate, i have to at least try to save myself and save this child growing inside me. “There’s only one way out,” I thought. “I have to run….” I mumbled Doctor Claire leaned forward. “What did you say?” I didn’t say a word. I simply walked out of the office. And out of the clinic. Into the approaching darkness. I didn’t know where I was going. But I knew one thing with absolute certainty I wasn’t returning to Mystic Falls nor was I going to Moonveil. I would keep this little one away from all you monsters. No matter the cost.Naya’s POVThe first thing I noticed was the smell.Antiseptic.Medicine.Clean sheets. It was so different from the scent of the forest that for a moment, I wondered if everything that had happened had only been a nightmare. Then the pain hit.A sharp ache spread through my side, forcing a groan from my lips.My eyelids fluttered open. The ceiling above me was white.Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting soft rays across the room.“…Arthur.”The name escaped my lips before I even realized it.My head snapped from side to side. The crib beside my bed was empty.Panic shot through me.“Arthur!”I tried to sit up.Pain immediately exploded through my stitches, but I ignored it.“My baby!”The door burst open.“Naya!”Nikolas hurried inside with Winnie close behind him. Both of them looked relieved.“Easy,” Nikolas said, gently helping me back against the pillows. “You’re going to reopen your wound.”“My son!”I grabbed his arm.“Where’s Arthur?”“Is he alright?”“Please tell m
Naya’s POVEverything stopped. The forest. The wind.Even my own breathing. My eyes locked onto the tiny silver blade pressed against Arthur’s fragile neck.He was crying. His tiny hands waved helplessly through the air as Valkyra held him like nothing more than a bargaining chip.My heart shattered.“Arthur…”His cries grew louder the moment he heard my voice. He knew I was here.He knew his mother had come.Tears burned my eyes.“Please…”My voice trembled despite every effort to steady it.“Don’t hurt him.”Valkyra laughed. It wasn’t the confident laugh I’d heard so many times before. This one was different.Broken.Desperate.“You finally know fear.”She tightened her grip on Arthur, causing him to cry even harder.“I’ve lost everything because of you!”I didn’t answer.I couldn’t.Every instinct inside me screamed to attack her.To rip her apart. To end this nightmare once and for all.But one careless move…One wrong step…And Arthur would pay the price.Behind me, I heard movem
Naya’s POVPain. It was everywhere.Every breath burned like fire inside my lungs. The silver dagger buried in my side felt as though it was melting through my flesh, poisoning every nerve in my body.I couldn’t move.Couldn’t think. All I could hear was my own ragged breathing and the frantic pounding of my heart. Then…A cry.Arthur.The faint sound of my son’s cries reached my ears.My eyes shot open.He was there.Only a few feet away.Wrapped tightly in a blanket, lying inside a wooden basket beneath one of the ancient trees.“My… baby…”I tried to crawl toward him.But a heavy boot slammed into my shoulder, forcing me back to the ground.Valkyra.She looked down at me with a cruel smile.“You really are pathetic.”She kicked me again.“You had all that power… yet you still lost.”Across the clearing, I heard another painful grunt. My head snapped toward the sound.Zane.Fenrir had him pinned against the trunk of a massive oak tree.Dark vines wrapped around his arms while Fenrir
Naya’s POVThe cold air rushed against my face as I crouched behind the thick oak tree, my pulse pounding so loudly I could barely hear anything else.Damn it.I had been discovered. The moment Elder Fenrir’s gaze landed on the tree I was hiding behind, I knew there was no point pretending anymore.A slow smile spread across his wrinkled face.“I thought I smelled something…” he chuckled darkly. “Turns out our little Luna decided not to listen.”My fingers curled into fists.Zane slowly turned. The instant our eyes met…His face drained of color.“Naya…”The disappointment in his voice hurt more than I expected.I stepped out from behind the tree, refusing to hide any longer.“I’m sorry.”His jaw clenched so tightly I thought his teeth would crack.“I told you to stay in Moonveil.”“I couldn’t.”“You promised.”“I never promised!” I fired back, my own emotions spilling over. “You asked me to stay… but Arthur is my son too! How do you expect me to sit in that castle while my baby is ou
Naya’s POV The steady hum of the SUV beneath me did little to calm the storm raging inside my chest.Curled beneath the thick blanket on the back seat, I forced myself to breathe as quietly as possible. Every bump in the rough forest road tugged painfully at my still-healing wound, but I ignored it.Pain meant nothing now.Arthur.That was all I could think about. My little boy…Was he crying? Was he hungry?Did he think I had abandoned him?The thought alone nearly shattered me.I bit down hard on my lower lip, refusing to let a sob escape.No.I had to stay focused.I had to.Outside, I could hear the muffled voices of Zane and Nikolas from the front seats. Their conversation drifted back to me over the low growl of the engine.“…we’re almost there.”“I don’t trust this.”“Neither do I.”The SUV slowed. My heartbeat quickened. We had arrived.A moment later, the engine went silent. The driver’s door opened. Then the passenger’s.Their footsteps crunched against the leaves outside.
Naya’s POVI couldn’t breathe. The note trembled violently between my fingers as every word carved itself deeper into my heart. If you want to see your child alive…The sentence replayed endlessly until everything around me became muffled.“Naya?”Zane’s voice sounded distant.“Naya… what’s in the letter?”I looked up at him, but nothing came out.My throat had completely closed. The room blurred behind the tears gathering in my eyes, and without saying a single word, I slowly stretched my trembling hand toward him.He frowned before taking the folded paper from me.His eyes moved across the page.Once.Then again.I watched the exact moment his expression changed. His jaw locked. His breathing became heavier. The veins around his neck stood out as his pupils flashed gold. Then—A deafening roar exploded from his chest. The entire nursery shook.Furniture rattled violently as his Alpha aura burst free, thick enough to make every guard instinctively lower their heads. His wolf surged s
