Gerard POV

At fifteen to noon, I make my way to Medallion for lunch with Trina. It’s only a block away, so I will be on time. I don’t think this is going to be a pleasant conversation, but I need to be up front and honest with her. I don’t want to complete a mate bond with her and there be any secrets with her.

As I made my way to the restaurant, my phone buzzed and I see it’s my mother. “Hello mother.” I said.

“Since when do you call me mother?” She laughed.

“Does parental unit work?” I chuckled.

“You brat! To you I will always be mom. Don’t make me remind you who I am young man.” She said jokingly.

“Okay, okay. What’s up?”

“Trina said you need to talk to her. Is everything okay? You aren’t planning on breaking up with her a week before the ceremony, are you?” My mother asked.

“No, mom. Nothing like that. I am almost at the restaurant to talk to her now. I’m definitely looking forward to the ceremony.” I said.

“Good. Trina is a good girl. I don’t think anyone will be better suited to stand by your side. Treat her well, Gerard.” She warned me light-heartedly.

“Don’t worry mom, I intend to treat her like the Luna she is to become at my side.”

“Good. Don’t forget the suit fitting tomorrow.”

I sighed into the phone, “I won’t mom.” I said exasperated. If one more person reminds me about the damn suit, I may have a conniption. “I see Trina. I have to go, mom. Bye!” I said quickly and ended the call.

I see Trina and she looks beautifully elegant in a deep wine colored, skirt suit. The skirt goes just above the knees and shows off her incredible legs. Her dress shirt buttons are open just enough to see her ample cleavage, and I would love for those red heels to be on my shoulders right now.

“You look stunning.” I said.

“You look handsome. I like the gray suit on you. It looks serious but comfortable. You wear it well.” She said, smiling.

“Shall we?”

“We shall.” She said, linking her arm in mine as we go into the restaurant.

As the hostess seats us at an open table near the window with a view of the park across the street, we grabbed the menus and start scanning what we would like to eat. After the waitress comes to our table and grabs our order, Trina then looks at me expectantly.

Okay, here goes. “Thank you for meeting me for lunch, babe.”

“I admit I have been very curious about what you want to discuss. You said I was important.” She reminded me.

“It is. Before I say anything, I want you to know that I am in no way, shape, or form wanting to call off the ceremony. I love you and I can’t wait to have you by my side.” I said.

This earned me a soft smile from Trina. “Well, then tell me what’s going on already.”

I take a deep breath and begin. “Remember how Erik wanted to go out with me to celebrate our upcoming ceremony?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, so we will. Apparently, there were other she-wolves there. They were drinking and invited us to drink. They put aconitum in the liquor, and I may have gotten drunk last.”

“By ‘may have’, you mean you did get drunk.” She said, easily cutting through the bullshit.

“Yes. I ended up taking one of the she-wolves with me to a hotel.” I said quietly, unable to look her in the eyes.

I hear her suck in a breath, and when I look up, she looks like she might cry. “You slept with her.” She said as a matter of fact.

“Yes. I was drunk and my senses were completely clouded from the aconitum. I don’t even remember anything. I didn’t realize what I did until this morning.” I said.

I see her blinking back tears and I feel gutted. I never wanted to hurt her, but I was not going to keep things from her either. I tried to reach for her hand, but she pulled back.

“What did she say when you woke up?” She asked.

“She was already gone when I woke up. I didn’t even get her name, and I gave her a fake name. I did that before I was too drunk, so I remember that much.” I said.

“Is that all?” she asked.

I start feeling a cold sweat break out through my forehead. “Not exactly.”

“Oh, Goddess, what else, Gerry?” She asked.

“Well, I had already been drinking, but not enough to be drunk. Aconitum messes with your senses, but not for our wolves, apparently.” I started.

“Gerry, if you don’t get to the point, I will tear this entire place down, with you in it.” She snapped at me.

That is the first time she has ever spoken to me like that, and honestly, after my conversation with Erik today, it’s a relief. She isn’t maintaining that perfect image right now and it just further solidifies my decision that she will make a perfect Luna. I just hope she still wants to be my Luna after this.

“It turns out that whoever that girl was, she’s, my mate.” I said quickly, like ripping a band aid.

Shock crossed her beautiful face, followed by fury. “Did you both mark each other in this drunken, one night stand?” She asked, trying not to yell.

I feel my Adam’s apple bob up and down my throat as I look down again. “Yes.”

Trina sat back and looked up. I see tears swelling in her eyes and her jaws clenching. “You are unbelievable.” She whispered angrily.

“Baby, I’m sorry. I never would have even thought about crossing such a line if I were sober.” I said quickly.

“Don’t you dare fucking ‘baby’ me. You cheated on me. You marked another woman. You did this a little over one week before the Luna Ceremony. How could you?!” she yelled at me in hush tones again.

“Trina, I know this is bad. Would you rather I hide it from you, and you find out later? I told you I don’t want to cancel the ceremony and I mean it. I do love you. I want you by my side.” I said. “I made a stupid mistake, and you can punish me, right here, right now, and I wouldn’t fight you. As long as you forgive me. I didn’t want to go through the ceremony with this enormous fuck up, completely on my part, weighing on me.” I said, my voice pleading with her to understand.

“I need to think. I need air. I need you to give me some space, Gerard.” She said, using my actual name instead of calling me babe or Gerry, like she usually does.

“I understand. How about we talk tomorrow night after you have had a chance to think about things?” I asked.

“Fine. I’m leaving.” She said, getting up and walking out of the restaurant.

Just as I see Trina leave, I thought I saw a familiar red head walking down the sidewalk across the street.

Silja POV“Ged!” I screamed. The guards help him inside the truck, and his skin is cold. He is not responsive.“Get us to the hospital, NOW!” I ordered.“Yes, Luna.”We took off, and I’m holding Ged’s head in my lap. Romy is looking at us, and she is quiet, but I know she is nervous.“Call Erik. Tell him what happened to Gerard, and we are on our way to the hospital,” I said.Romy snaps out of it and grabs her phone.“Erik,” she says with her voice shaking, “We are on our way to the hospital. We won the case and went to eat. Then, when we were getting into the SUV, Gerard passed out. He isn’t responsive, and he looks pale. Silja ordered the guard to take us to the hospital.”There was a pause, and then she said, “Yes. That’s where we are going.”Another pause as Erik said something else to her, and she responded. “Okay.”They hang up, and she looks at me. “Erik is coming to the hospital. Nolan is going to stay behind an extra day before going to Jaul. Nolan will call him to explain eve

Gerard POVI walked with Silja towards the bathroom. On the way, we were discussing where we would go for lunch.“I could really go for some Hibachi!” she said excitedly.“You and your Asian food,” I chuckled.Romy and Silja both looked at me like I wasn’t seeing the obvious. “Sils could eat her weight in Asian food, Mr. Sinnett.”I laughed. “You are right about that. Am I ordering Shumai?”Silja smiled. “Damn right, you are. Shumai and a Singapore Sling!”I shook my head, smiling. She is very happy, and I am glad. Having this defamation case behind us is a great step. As we approached the bathroom, I saw Trina’s mother outside.“Let’s get out of here, Silja. If Trina’s mother is standing outside, then Trina is in there. I don’t want you alone with her.”She and Romy both stopped smiling. Romy grabbed Sils' free hand, and we turned around to leave. As we are walking away, I hear Mrs. Mayer call my name.“Ignore her, Ged. Nothing good will come from talking to her,” Silja said, and hone

  • Alpha's Picture of Regret   Chapter 123: Hearing

Silja POVThe uneasy feeling I’m getting from Trina is only growing the longer we sit here waiting for the judge to come in. Romy notices and whispers in my ear, “Biatch, don’t get yourself worked up. This could be a tactic.”I took a deep breath. “I know you are right, but something feels off, Romy.”“Breathe, Sils. Remember, you answer only what you are asked. Do not elaborate more than needed.”Finally, the judge comes in, and we all stand.“Be seated,” the judge said.“This case is Sinnett v Mayer. Defamation,” the bailiff said as he handed the folder to the judge. He turned to Romy and me and asked us to explain the alleged defamation. Romy went on to explain that Trina publicly claimed I didn’t deliver the desired product, which ruined my reputation and cost me my job. She said it caused irreparable damage to my career and blacklisted me from the industry unjustly.“Do you have any proof to show the desired product was delivered and accepted?” The judge asked.Out of the corner o

Silja POV“You are not going by yourself, Sils,” Gerard said with finality.“Gerard, the Luna Guard will be with me, and so will my beta female. She’s my attorney after all.”“No. I’m coming with you. I don’t know what kind of stunt Trina is going to play. I haven’t forgotten what Larken said.”Larken did say she was planning something. “I don’t think she would try something in the courthouse, Gerard.”“I won’t take any chances. She could try something before or after the hearing. She could have something set up outside. I’m not risking your safety, Silja. I’m coming with you.”I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, conceding. “Okay. Then we'd better get going in the next hour.”I kissed him gently, and then he deepened the kiss. When he pulls away, he looks me in the eyes. “I want her, her scheming, and anything else she is plotting behind us, Silja. My dream hasn’t changed, and I am nervous that you are going to leave me and take our son with you. It will break me, Sils. You a

  • Alpha's Picture of Regret   Chapter 121: Advancing

Silja POV It has been three months since Lennox was born. All has been quiet. Gerard and I have been living in peace with our son. Jaul and Ged talked about Kiercy staying at Night Crown, and Ged categorically shut that down. He called Elder Starling himself and said no. He told him what happened to Romy and how Kiercy was involved. Whether by force or intentionally, Kiercy hurt his beta female and is not welcome to stay in the pack. Romy has gotten a lot of documents prepared for the upcoming council hearing with Larken to have him put away for good. She is also working on getting my court date in the city to sue Trina for defamation. All in all, she has kept busy. She said that after the court hearing with Trina, she and Erik will start trying for a pup. She has gotten baby fever watching Ged and me with Lennox. Of course, Erik has been smiling and laughing nonstop, watching Ged stumble through feedings and getting thrown up on by his son. “Wait until it’s your turn, Erik. You a

  • Alpha's Picture of Regret   Chapter 120: Tell me what happened

Trina POV I finally got a call from Kiercy. Larken arranged for her to be my point of contact since I couldn’t be his plus one. He said bringing Kiercy would throw Romy off, and that was what he wanted for himself. He also said that would make me less suspicious. “Kiercy, I’ve been waiting for your call,” I said with a smile she obviously cannot see. Kiercy whispers, “I don’t have long, Trina.” “Why are you whispering?” “Because things didn’t go as expected,” she answered. “Tell me what happened.” “Larken goaded Romy. But she isn’t the same person she once was. She is smart and has proof of everything Larken had done to her. During the exchange, things got heated, and Larken threw Luna Silja across the room and against the wall. She’s very pregnant, and she was in pain. Alpha Gerard rushed her out of there and took her to the pack hospital. Then Alpha Jaul challenged Larken for Golden Dawn. There was an elder present, and he approved the challenge,” she said quickly. That pompo
