Gerard POV

“Come on, what else do you remember about her?” Erik asked. “Think man.”

I sat back and started thinking about my mystery mate. “She has long red hair. It was wavy and in a ponytail at the bar. She had on a dress that showed off her incredible body. Her skin was pale, but not in a pasty way. More like a porcelain doll kind of way. She was tall for a woman. Maybe five foot eight inches. Her eyes were like a hazel green color.”

“Okay, did she tell you anything about herself?”

I put my head in my hands, willing my mind to remember. ‘Terk, do you remember anything?’

‘She has a small tattoo on her right hip of a daisy. She said it was in memory of someone special to her.’

I looked up and told Erik what Terk just said to me.

“Cute. A daisy.” He said exasperated. “That doesn’t help us. Unless the woman is walking around a bikini, we won’t see her tattoo. Before you started drinking, was there anything she said about herself that could help us identify her?”

“She said something about her camera. I can’t remember what she said though.”

“Phone camera, a film camera, and professional camera?”

“Man, I don’t know. What do you want me to tell you? I can’t remember shit.”

“Fine. I will see what I can dig up.” He said standing.

“Also, go to the bar and see if anyone knows who she is and if there is any security footage.”

“On it.” He said walking to the office door. Just as he is about to open the door, it swings open.

In walks my pain in the ass half-brother Jaul. He is older than me, but he is illegitimate. We share the same father, but my father was fooling around with some she-wolf and got her pregnant. He never acknowledged Jaul as his son until he was seventeen, when his own mother passed away. My dad ended up taking him in. After he came to live with us, my mother became distant with my father, and they haven’t been the same since.

“Hello brother.” Jaul said.

“Jaul, what do you want?” I asked.

“My inheritance and rightful place in the family, but we know it won’t happen.”

“I mean what is the purpose of your visit, asshole.” I said, clearly irritated by his presence.

“I’m here to remind you that you have a suit fitting for Trina’s Luna Ceremony. Father asked me to remind you since your phone seems to be off.”

I grabbed my phone and sure enough it’s off. “Fuck, I didn’t even realize I turned off my phone.”

After turning it back on, notifications started coming at record speed. I see several missed messages from Trina and guilt is rising in my heart. I got drunk and cheated on her. I am still wrapping my head around everything.

I look at Jaul and I want him out of my office. “I’ll be at the fitting tomorrow. You can leave now.”

“Oh, dear brother, I’ve never been that easy to get rid of, you know that.” He said with a smirk. “You seemed stressed. Are you getting cold feet with my future sister-in-law?”

“Not that it is any of your business, but no. I can’t wait to solidify her position in the pack.” I said.

“You’re only twenty-one. Still young enough to find your fated mate. Are you sure you don’t want to wait to find her?” He asked.

Clearly, he is up to something. What that is, I don’t know. I need to have someone keep an eye on him until I make Trina my Luna.

“Trina is intelligent, beautiful and exactly the kind of woman I need by my side to solidify my position as Alpha. She will make an exceptional Luna.” I say confidently.

“Very well brother. I will leave you to it then. Remember not to be late tomorrow for the suit fitting.” He said as he walked out of my office.

I ran my hand over my face and sighed heavily. I need to talk to Trina. I can’t have her believe I would hide things from her. I grabbed my phone and dialed her number.

After a couple of rings she picks up, “Thank the Moon Goddess. I was getting so worried about you, babe. Where have you been?”

“Hey honey. Listen, I need to talk to you. It’s important. Can we meet for lunch?” I asked. Better to be in public so she doesn’t murder me when I tell her about last night.

“Sure. Is everything okay?” she asked.

“I’m sure you will tell me.” I said. “I’ll meet you at noon for lunch. How about Medallion?”

There is a slight pause, “Are you having second thoughts about the Luna Ceremony?”

“No. I’m definitely not having second thoughts. I do need to talk to you though.” I said.

“Okay. Then I will meet you there at noon. Love you, babe!” She said happily.

“Love you too.” I said and I hung up.

I called Erik back into my office while I started going through some of the paperwork on my desk.

“You rang?” Erik said, amused.

I look at him seriously. “Jaul came here to tell me to be on time for my suit fitting tomorrow. But something about the exchange feels off. Can you have someone keep an eye on him until I get through the Luna Ceremony next week?” I asked.

“Think he will try to ruin the day for you?”

“I don’t want the day ruined for Trina.” I said. “It’s not fair to her. We have been seeing each other for two years and she has waited for this moment. If he tries to pull anything, shut him down.”

“You got it. I will have someone tail him and report anything suspicious.” Erik said.

“Good. I’m having lunch with Trina at noon. We are meeting at Medallion.” I said.

“Ah, public location with good lighting. Making sure she doesn’t shred you alive?”

I chuckled, “It’s better to have witnesses I guess.”

  • Alpha's Picture of Regret   Chapter 126: My Decision

Silja POVI walked out of the emergency room and into the waiting room. Romy, Erik, and Nolan all stand up and look at me expectantly. But I’m numb. How did this happen? Trina wasn’t at the restaurant. She wasn’t close to Gerard and didn’t have contact with him inside the courthouse. Now, the memories Ged and I have made in almost a year’s time have her replacing me in his memory. Our first time in my apartment, the way he would cook for me, seeing Lennox via the ultrasound, the Luna Ceremony, our one-night stand, everything is being replaced with Trina. How? That’s what I don’t understand. I get that it’s a dark magic potion, but how did she get to him?“Silja?” Nolan called gently, bringing me back to reality.I looked at Romy, and her eyes were full of tears. She can sense I’m numb and in pain at the same time. I lose my battle with tears, and Romy hugs me.“Silja, whatever it is, it will be okay. I promise. What’s wrong with Gerard?” she asked.I looked up, fat, ugly, tears slidin

Silja POV“Ged!” I screamed. The guards help him inside the truck, and his skin is cold. He is not responsive.“Get us to the hospital, NOW!” I ordered.“Yes, Luna.”We took off, and I’m holding Ged’s head in my lap. Romy is looking at us, and she is quiet, but I know she is nervous.“Call Erik. Tell him what happened to Gerard, and we are on our way to the hospital,” I said.Romy snaps out of it and grabs her phone.“Erik,” she says with her voice shaking, “We are on our way to the hospital. We won the case and went to eat. Then, when we were getting into the SUV, Gerard passed out. He isn’t responsive, and he looks pale. Silja ordered the guard to take us to the hospital.”There was a pause, and then she said, “Yes. That’s where we are going.”Another pause as Erik said something else to her, and she responded. “Okay.”They hang up, and she looks at me. “Erik is coming to the hospital. Nolan is going to stay behind an extra day before going to Jaul. Nolan will call him to explain eve

  • Alpha's Picture of Regret   Chapter 124: Unexpected

Gerard POVI walked with Silja towards the bathroom. On the way, we were discussing where we would go for lunch.“I could really go for some Hibachi!” she said excitedly.“You and your Asian food,” I chuckled.Romy and Silja both looked at me like I wasn’t seeing the obvious. “Sils could eat her weight in Asian food, Mr. Sinnett.”I laughed. “You are right about that. Am I ordering Shumai?”Silja smiled. “Damn right, you are. Shumai and a Singapore Sling!”I shook my head, smiling. She is very happy, and I am glad. Having this defamation case behind us is a great step. As we approached the bathroom, I saw Trina’s mother outside.“Let’s get out of here, Silja. If Trina’s mother is standing outside, then Trina is in there. I don’t want you alone with her.”She and Romy both stopped smiling. Romy grabbed Sils' free hand, and we turned around to leave. As we are walking away, I hear Mrs. Mayer call my name.“Ignore her, Ged. Nothing good will come from talking to her,” Silja said, and hone

  • Alpha's Picture of Regret   Chapter 123: Hearing

Silja POVThe uneasy feeling I’m getting from Trina is only growing the longer we sit here waiting for the judge to come in. Romy notices and whispers in my ear, “Biatch, don’t get yourself worked up. This could be a tactic.”I took a deep breath. “I know you are right, but something feels off, Romy.”“Breathe, Sils. Remember, you answer only what you are asked. Do not elaborate more than needed.”Finally, the judge comes in, and we all stand.“Be seated,” the judge said.“This case is Sinnett v Mayer. Defamation,” the bailiff said as he handed the folder to the judge. He turned to Romy and me and asked us to explain the alleged defamation. Romy went on to explain that Trina publicly claimed I didn’t deliver the desired product, which ruined my reputation and cost me my job. She said it caused irreparable damage to my career and blacklisted me from the industry unjustly.“Do you have any proof to show the desired product was delivered and accepted?” The judge asked.Out of the corner o

Silja POV“You are not going by yourself, Sils,” Gerard said with finality.“Gerard, the Luna Guard will be with me, and so will my beta female. She’s my attorney after all.”“No. I’m coming with you. I don’t know what kind of stunt Trina is going to play. I haven’t forgotten what Larken said.”Larken did say she was planning something. “I don’t think she would try something in the courthouse, Gerard.”“I won’t take any chances. She could try something before or after the hearing. She could have something set up outside. I’m not risking your safety, Silja. I’m coming with you.”I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck, conceding. “Okay. Then we'd better get going in the next hour.”I kissed him gently, and then he deepened the kiss. When he pulls away, he looks me in the eyes. “I want her, her scheming, and anything else she is plotting behind us, Silja. My dream hasn’t changed, and I am nervous that you are going to leave me and take our son with you. It will break me, Sils. You a

Silja POV It has been three months since Lennox was born. All has been quiet. Gerard and I have been living in peace with our son. Jaul and Ged talked about Kiercy staying at Night Crown, and Ged categorically shut that down. He called Elder Starling himself and said no. He told him what happened to Romy and how Kiercy was involved. Whether by force or intentionally, Kiercy hurt his beta female and is not welcome to stay in the pack. Romy has gotten a lot of documents prepared for the upcoming council hearing with Larken to have him put away for good. She is also working on getting my court date in the city to sue Trina for defamation. All in all, she has kept busy. She said that after the court hearing with Trina, she and Erik will start trying for a pup. She has gotten baby fever watching Ged and me with Lennox. Of course, Erik has been smiling and laughing nonstop, watching Ged stumble through feedings and getting thrown up on by his son. “Wait until it’s your turn, Erik. You a
