Lucian’s POV.

The sound of her body striking the stone floor was sharp enough to echo through the kitchen before the room fell completely silent.

She slid across the polished surface, the faint scrape of fabric and skin against stone telling me exactly where she stopped — somewhere near the cabinets along the far wall.

Her breath left her lungs in a harsh rush, followed by the faint metallic scent of fresh blood bleeding into the air.

Every single one of them stood still, I could hear it in the room. The sudden stillness of bodies frozen in place, the way several servants held their breath as if silence alone might make them invisible.

I stepped forward, the slow rhythm of my boots striking the stone floor sending a quiet ripple of tension through the kitchen. A servant fumbled with something metallic, and the object clattered loudly against the counter before being hastily caught.

Behind me, the prisoner moved.

She pushed herself up on her elbows, breathing hard, the faint drag of her hand against the floor confirming the obvious — she was hurt.

Even without sight, I could feel the weight of her attention settle on me. She refused to look broken. Her breathing had changed, slower now, controlled, as though she refused to give the room the satisfaction of hearing her pain.

Stubborn little thing.

My attention shifted toward the servants. “Why is my kitchen full of statues?”

I let silence stretch a little longer before tilting my head slightly toward the center of the kitchen.

“Marla.”

There was a pause, followed by the quick shuffle of footsteps approaching me. Marla stopped several feet away.

I could hear the tremor in her breathing.

“Y-yes, Alpha.”

I gestured vaguely toward the spot where Avery’s breathing came from. “The girl belongs to this kitchen now.”

The words sent a ripple of quiet movement through the room.

“She cleans. She scrubs the floors. She carries water and deals with whatever filth this house produces.”

I took a slow step forward.

“You will work her until her hands blister and her knees give out beneath her. You will not give her rest, and you will not give her sympathy.”

I stopped directly in front of Marla, close enough to hear the quick, uneven rhythm of her heartbeat. “Do you understand?”

“Y-yes, Alpha,” she whispered.

I turned and walked toward the door, already losing interest in the kitchen now that the message had been delivered. Behind me, the servants remained silent until my boots crossed the threshold.

Only then did the room finally breathe again.

“Get up,” Marla snapped.

I paused just outside the doorway.

Avery shifted behind me. Her breathing was uneven, but she didn’t protest.

“Bucket,” Marla ordered.

Metal clanged against the floor as someone shoved one across the kitchen.

“And a rag.”

Another servant hurried forward.

“Start with the floors,” Marla said. “Every inch.”

There was a brief pause. Then the slow splash of water. The faint, rhythmic sound of fabric dragging across stone began a moment later.

She obeyed.

I continued down the hall, the distant sounds of the kitchen fading as I moved deeper into the corridors.

By the time Raith found me, I had already replaced the bandage around my hand, my fingers following the familiar pattern by touch alone.

A knock sounded against the door. “Enter.”

The door opened a moment later, and slammed shut followed by steps of Raith crossing the room.

“What's the matter?”

“It's about the girl…”

“What about her?”

“You threw her into the kitchens,”

“She enjoys testing boundaries,” I said calmly. “I decided to clarify them.”

Raith huffed softly. “That’s one way to put it.”

I leaned back slightly in the chair. “Lena came down to the dungeons earlier.”

“She what?”

“She interrupted me.” Silence stretched across the room.

“That girl is going to get herself killed one day.”

“She knows exactly how far she can push,” I replied.

My fingers tapped lightly against the desk.

“She’s been doing it since we were children.”

The words settled into the silence between us.

I tilted my head slightly toward him.

“She seemed rather invested in the prisoner.”

I leaned back, letting the silence stretch between us. Raith shifted, impatient.

“She won’t break,” I said finally. “Not by punishment. Not by fear.”

Raith frowned. “Then what do you plan? Let her keep defying you?”

I tapped my fingers against the desk. “No. I’ll use what she cares about. That girl won’t break unless I kill her. And she’s far too sweet to waste on death.”

“I will use Lena. She saw exactly what happened. I can use her proximity… her loyalty… to make Avery bend.”

Raith’s breath hitched. “You really mean to use Lena?”

I allowed a dark, thin smile to tug at my lips. “Of course. She’s the only thing keeping Avery from being destroyed too quickly.”

Raith swallowed. “You’re cruel.”

“Necessary,” I corrected. “Cruelty without purpose is waste. This… this is strategy.”

Raith exhaled. “Understood.”

Strategy was set. Punishment was inevitable. And the game… had only just begun.

I leaned back in my chair, letting the quiet stretch for a heartbeat, then let a slow, deliberate smile spread across my face.

“In fact…” I murmured, letting the words linger in the room. “I think it’s time to bond with my beautiful sister.”

Everything that breaks you slowly.”“You're a murderer,” I shouted even though my voice broke. I don't know where the strength came from. Maybe it was from fear, anger, or the sight of that lifeless body, but I said it anyway.“The moon goddess will punish you for this. You don't get to take another wolf's life like that.”His face twisted into something between a sneer and a smirk. “I can kill you right now, and it wouldn't make a difference to me. That man down there…” he paused. “...wasn't a wolf. He was a traitor.”My breath hitched “He broke the pack's law,” he continued. “He knew the cost.” His voice turned cold and low. “To every action, there's a consequence with a price.”“That is why your father sold you. To clear his debts.” He paused, letting the words sink in. "You were his payment, just as dea

His voice seemed to crawl across the floor, a low, dry rasp that sounded like dead leaves skittering over stone. “Lucian already used you.”His grip tightened.“So stop acting like you’re untouched. Just give me a chance. Let me fuck you to stupor.”“I want you to choke on my cock, and then spread you wide with my fist.”I struggled against him, twisting hard, but his hold didn’t budge. Avery's POV.I didn’t wait for her to answer. I pushed past her, hips swaying as I made my way into the kitchen. The clatter of trays and the scent of early firewood filled the room, but my mind was elsewhere.Marla stood at the center, issuing orders.“Thalia,” she called. I lifted my head and met the glare of the girl who had tried to bully me earlier. I gave her a daring look before dropping my head again.“You’ll wash the dishes today,” Marla continued. “Scrub the floors and disinfect the kitchen.”Thalia’s mouth fell open. “What? Ma’am… I was supposed to clean the Alpha’s room today.”“You don’t question me, Thalia,” Marla snapped. “Take what you are given unless you want extra chores.”Thalia stiffened. “Sorry, ma’am,” she muttered.“And who’s cleaning the Alpha’s room?”“No one. The Alpha doesn’t want anyone near his room today. Is that understood?”“Yes, ma’am,” we echoed.“Good. Avery, you know your duty—you’ll cook and serve the Alpha.”I stared a second longer, then nodded.

Stretching me more.He began thrusting in and out, setting a devastating rhythm that pushed me forward with each thrust.“Fuckkkk.” I writhed, almost convulsing. His hand gripped and squeezed them hard, pinching my nipples.I could feel his balls slapping against me, making a wet sound that echoed through the room. My thighs were shaking, my pussy soaking around him. The previous pain had vanished and I was beginning to enjoy the feeling. I hate that I like this.Every thrust knocked the air out of me. Avery's POV He gripped a fistful of my hair and pushed my head down, hard. Pain shot through my scalp, and I swallowed back a sharp cry, trying not to let my fear show. Oh god… this is really happening. “Open your mouth. Now.” I opened just barely as he rammed his cock deep into my throat. I choked instantly. He thrust hard, cock diving in and out of my mouth without pause. My lips stretched wide, jaw aching, eyes watering as he used my mouth like a vessel. He didn't pity me. My gag reflex hit, and he only pushed deeper, his cock hitting the back of my throat again and again Spit ran down my chin and onto my chest. Breathing became impossible; I could only gasp between thrusts, tears falling as he pushed my head deeper. I choked and gagged, my mouth taking every inch, down to where he met his balls. I couldn’t tell if my tears were from the pain… or from how helpless I felt beneath him. Then, suddenly he pulled out. “Stand up,” he ordered. Relief and panic hit at once as I stu

Avery's POVIt took something from me to say those words. Every breath. Every shred of strength. Every principle I had ever sworn to live by.I could still feel the moment in my bones. The cold edge of Lucian’s sword at Lena’s throat, the thin line of blood forming beneath the steel, the terrible realization that he would not hesitate if I had remained silent.I did not know if what I had said back there was the right thing to do or if I had even meant it.But I said it.I said it to save Lena. The words still echoed in my head, heavy and irreversible.I will be in your bed tonight.Even now, I could not believe they had come from my own mouth. What had I done?My stomach twisted at the thought of what awaited me. I had spoken in desperation, driven by the need to stop the sword from falling, but desperation did not undo promises, not with a man like Lucian.Perhaps Lena would hate me for it. Perhaps she would never forgive the humiliation of being spared that way. But I would rather
