Time froze.
A misty white ball appeared in the air. It rotated for a moment before an object fell from within. Time seemed to warp. The object, which was initially unrecognizable, slowly morphed into a naked young man. The young man looked about 17 or 18 years old with flawless, fair skin, long slim legs, a tiny waist, and a delicately sculptured face. The sight of him lying in the dirt felt jarring___ like gold thrown in filth. Giving one an irritated yet pitiful feeling. The young man sprawled amidst the dirt, his eyes closed, and his long eyelashes fluttered every second. His lips moved as if uttering some words, but nothing came out. Despite this, he looked really cute. Time passed slowly, but the young man remained fast asleep. It made someone worried if he would starve to death or get kidnapped by bad men. However, a change soon occurred. A strange screen appeared before the young man's face and shone brightly on his face, highlighting his beautiful face even more. "Host, wake up." A robotic voice came from the screen. Like a trigger, the young man trembled, and his eyelashes fluttered violently. His eyes opened without warning, and he jerked up. His dark green eyes looked empty with no sense of life as he looked into space. The screen flickered. Strange words appeared and disappeared for a few seconds. Consequently, the young man's eyes also changed, displaying rapid emotions until only confusion was left behind. The young man groped his body with confusion blaring in his beautiful dark green eyes. He looked around, and then, at his body. Immediately after, anger flashed across his face. An overwhelming coldness settled on the delicate face. "Those bastards. Did they really capture me to kill me? I told them I wasn't interested in their damn hearts!" The young man yelled angrily. His eyes glowed with vicious light. His fingers clenched into a fist. "You guys better kill me here, or I will skin you all alive!" His words came out deep and rough. It was nothing fitting for that delicate face. But he didn't seem to mind. He was angry. He didn't beg to be loved. No, he'd always made it clear he didn't want to be loved. So, why? "How was his death my fault?" He snarled. He couldn't understand. He hadn't done much more than break their hearts. How could they make him a murderer because of that? "I..." His words died in his throat as his eyes suddenly widened. Pain stabbed through his skull. He gripped his neck and stared at the screen before him. His lips parted like he wanted to say something, but his eyes rolled back. Silence fell. When he opened them again, the cold was gone. His viciously cold eyes had turned innocent and pure. The dark green eyes shone with the brightness of youth, giving someone a warm and comfortable feeling. His entire body melted into a stunning light, giving one the feeling that he was an untainted beauty. The young man blinked at the screen before him. "D... did you save me?" He asked softly, his voice enchanting. The screen flickered as if it were surprised for a second. "I did. Do you remember anything?" It asked. Only then did the young man's eyes show confusion but without the expected fear. "I don't remember anything. I don't know anything about myself." His eyes widened, showing a flicker of fear. "Do you think I lost my memories because I'm dead?" The screen flashed, turned into a white light, and penetrated the young man's forehead. The man froze. Right after, the screen appeared again. "You are Finn by name. You are dead, but I'm here to save you, but on one condition." It said mechanically. Finn's brows raised with curiosity. He glanced at the screen with full attention. "I will do anything. I really don't want to be here." He covered his nose as he said. He seemed to only notice his surroundings right then, and the dirt made his face scrunch up, giving him a pitiful expression. "Win the hearts of the male leads of this world. Make them fall in love with you, and I will revive you. I will also help you recover your memories. How about that?" The mechanical voice had no emotion, but for some reason, it gave someone the sense of coaxing... Finn tilted his head and blinked his large eyes. "Male leads?" He was confused. "Yes, male leads. They are your husbands, and you have to make them love you." Finn exhaled. He might have lost his memories, but he still felt like a man should only have one partner, right? The screen wrote a string of words. "Don't think too much. Make them fall in love with you, and I will fulfill all your wishes." It said. Finn was enticed. He stared at the screen with squinted eyes, and he slowly bit his lower lip. "How many are they?" He asked in a small voice. His innocence made someone's heart ache. "Eight," the screen replied, and with that, it penetrated Finn's forehead. Finn frowned. "I guess I'm in a terrible nightmare." He whispered to himself. Yet, deep down, he knew this was real, and he was about to step into a game that would either ruin or make him.Finn quickly answered the call and placed the phone to his ear. He was scared. His heart wouldn't stop racing, and his face was a little pale. "Niam," He called in a low voice. There was silence at the other end of the phone for a few minutes. Finn checked the phone, wondering if Niam had ended the call. "Finn, where are you?" Niam's deep voice came through. Finn looked around. He was so dazed that he lost his sense of reasoning. "I, I, I'm..." He looked at Ethan, and only then did he calm down a little. "I'm at Professor Ethan's house." Niam was quiet again. "When are you returning home?" "Are you home?" "Mm." Finn's eyes lit up. He held the phone tightly to his ear. "Wait for me. I'll come right away. I'll come back to you." His voice couldn't hide his excitement. The call ended. Finn lowered his eyes to look at Ethan, who was still sitting on the sofa and waiting for him. "Can we go shopping at night instead? Niam said he's back at home." He really couldn't wait. He wan
The next morning, Finn and Ethan sat at the table together, eating quietly. Finn had noticed Ethan's mannerisms whenever he was eating, and he felt like the man didn't like talking during mealtime. Finn, who had spent the night thinking of ways to flirt with Ethan, decided to start his plan right away. He picked some meat from his dish and placed it inside Ethan's plate. Finn remembered that Franklin had always done this. Lucian and Niam always did it, too, and he loved it a lot. He believed Ethan would also like it. Especially when he realized how much Ethan likes meat. Seeing that Ethan had only paused for a few seconds before continuing with his food, Finn felt emboldened. He picked more food that Ethan liked and dropped them in his bowl. Ethan finally stopped. He looked at the full bowl before him, and he suddenly lost his appetite. He wasn't the type to eat much to begin with, and meals had always been like a kind of work to him. If not for surviving, he would have prefe
Finn ate the fruit while watching the historical show on the TV. He felt bored. The drama wasn't exactly interesting. After a while, he turned to look at Ethan. "Do you want me to tell you stories?" He used to love it whenever Niam told him stories. Niam was really good at it, and that was one of the reasons he fell in love with him. Ethan looked at him, a slight surprise in his eyes. "You know how to tell stories?" Finn shook his head, and then he nodded. He didn't know any story aside from the ones Niam told him. But for some reason, he didn't want to tell Niam's story to someone else, even if that person was one of his lovers. Niam's stories belonged to him alone. But Finn also wanted to tell Ethan a story... "I can tell stories." He confirmed. It was more to himself than to Ethan, though. Ethan seemed really interested. He faced Finn and gestured with his chin for him to start. Seeing the anticipation in Ethan's eyes, the nervousness in Finn's heart disappeared, and he fe
Finn didn't seem to see anything wrong in what he said. He nodded. "Yes, you. You are among my lovers." He had already told Ethan the truth about everything, so he didn't see it as anything if he told him more. But Ethan's expression became richer as he looked at Finn's delicate face. "I'm one of your eight lovers?" He seemed to be confirming something. Finn continued nodding. "You're my fourth lover." "So, is that the reason you're staying around me?" "Yes. I need to win your affection." Ethan paused. He stopped walking and looked at Finn instead. "My affection?" He didn't seem to understand. "Your heart. I need to make you love me." Ethan's eyes remained calm. "So, do you like me then?" Finn's smiled softly. "Yes. I like you very much." Ethan's lips slowly curled. "Why?" He seemed to have expected what answer Finn would give.Over the years, he had met many admirers, and many had even asked him out. Especially in his first year as a university student, he was even almost r
Ethan drove Finn back to his house, and sure enough, Niam didn't return last night. Seeing the empty house was like poking at Finn's injury, and his mood soured again. He changed his clothes, picked up his phone, and left the house without looking back. Without Niam around, the place no longer looked home, and it only served to remind him of the current conflict. He sat in Ethan's car, his eyes lost and devoid of happiness. He stared at his phone's screen, and aside from Franklin's call, no one else had called him. A few messages were on his phone, and he checked them. He realized they were from his friends, Edwin and Amelia. They were asking if he had resumed or when he planned to. Finn stared at the message for a few seconds before he decided to reply, and after that, he also sent a message to Franklin. The drive to the school was quiet. Ethan kept glancing at Finn. The concern on his face was evident. At a junction, he stopped, got out of the car, and returned with a cup of
Due to the fatigue and sickness, Finn fell asleep quite easily, and when he opened his eyes the next day, he felt a lot better. Yawning and stretching in bed, he heard a knock on the door. Finn quickly sat up. "Come in." The door opened, revealing a fully dressed Ethan. He wore a white long-sleeve shirt and grey pants. Tall and lean, he looked pure and unblemished by the stains of the world. Finn got himself lost in his visuals once again, and he couldn't extricate himself. Ethan entered the room, sat down at the edge of the bed, and reached out to touch his forehead. "Your temperature is back to normal. So, why is your face so red?" He looked genuinely worried. "Do you want me to take you to the hospital?" Finn shook his head in a daze. He snapped out of it and smiled shyly. "No, I'm not sick." Ethan raised a brow. "Then, is it because of what happened yesterday? Did you run away from home?" Reminded of what happened last night, Finn's heart sank, and the redness on his face
Niam swallowed and stood up. "I should check on the cook. She's probably done cooking." He said, rubbing his hands on his trousers awkwardly. Finn nodded, still waiting for the system to heal his bruises. At the same time, he realized he was a little hungry. He watched Niam leave the room, and a
Finn cried and fell asleep under the tree. His fragile body trembled slightly from the breeze, but it didn't wake him up. His breath was a little shaky. He felt a presence around him, but he felt too sleepy to care. He was in school anyway, and no one could hurt him here. He also didn't want t
Finn watched as the target, Niam, approached with a cold expression. Finn felt a little scared in his heart, but he found himself unable to hide. He had to win the target's heart, so he had to make the target happy. Hiding from the target would only make the target unhappy. Finn didn't want to
Niam watched as the little beauty walked out of the music room, and he felt like he'd lost his mind. The door opened, revealing the blonde-haired student, who had a large grin on his face when he saw Niam. Niam ran his fingers through his hair and stretched his hand forth. The blonde-haired stud
