The low groan that came from his throat. The way his hips moved faster behind her habang hindi inaalis ang tingin sa akin.
His fingers tightened slightly around my wrist.
“You should watch your step,” he said quietly and casually.
Na parang hindi kami nagkatitigan habang may iba siyang kina*kan*tot less than thirty minutes ago.
Humugot ako ng malalim na hininga. “I’m fine.”
I tried to pull my wrist back.
Hindi siya bumitaw. His thumb rested against my pulse.
I hated the way my skin started heating up under his touch. The way one simple movement from him could make my stomach tighten and my breathing turn uneven.
“Let go,” I said quietly.
“Not even a thank you?”
“Thank you,” I said, sharper this time. “Now let go.”
Tumaas ang kilay niya, before he released me slowly, like he wanted me to feel every second of his touch.
My mother hurried toward me. “Anak, okay ka lang?”
“Okay lang, Ma,” I said, stepping back.
But I was not fine. Because my pulse was still racing.
The stranger bent down, picked up my bag, and handed it to me.
My mother, thankfully, had been distracted by another staff member asking about our luggage.
“Sino k—” I pressed my lips together nang makita ko siyang naglalakad na palayo sa yacht.
I rolled my eyes and walked toward my mother, forcing myself not to look back. But before I could stop myself, I did.
The sun hit his face, turning his gray eyes almost silver.
Fuck. I was really curious.
I wanted to look confident.
He smiled then. “Well, I could ask the same thing about you.”
“It’s your first time at La Isla Tentación, Amara. And yet here you are, already looking at me like temptation. That’s going to be a problem for both of us.”
Napaawang ang labi ko.
How did he know my name?
Napakayabang at assumero.
Hindi na ’ko nakapagsalita sa gigil.
Tumalikod na siya at sumakay sa ATV. He looked at me with a smirk one last time saka nag-drive toward a private path lined with black roses and guarded by a tall iron gate.
The entrance hall looked massive. White marble floors reflected the crystal chandeliers hanging above us while a grand staircase curved elegantly toward the second floor.
Then I noticed dozens of portraits.
Men and women dressed in old-money elegance, all staring down from gold frames like they were silently judging every person entering the house.
My chest tightened.
“This way, ma’am,” one of the staff members said politely.
“Mama…” mahina kong tawag.
“Hm?”
“Bakit ang daming cameras dito?”
Bago pa siya makasagot, another voice answered behind us.
“Security.”
Napalingon ako.
A girl around my age, maybe twenty-one, stood near the staircase, lazily leaning against the railing habang may hawak na wine glass.
She was beautiful in an effortless way. Dark wavy hair. Sharp eyes. A silk dress hanging loosely on her body like she didn’t care enough to impress anyone.
She smiled at me and started walking down the stairs.
She held out her hand. “Eliana Montemayor.”
I forced a polite smile before shaking her hand. “Amara Reyes.”
“Cute.” Bahagya siyang ngumisi. “You already look stressed. That usually takes people at least three days here.”
“Eli.” A woman with gray hair pulled into a severe bun suddenly appeared, walking so comfortably na parang matagal na siyang nakatira rito.
“What?” Eli shrugged innocently. “I’m just welcoming her.”
The older woman gave a small nod before looking directly at my mother.
“Ms. Lopez,” she greeted formally. “Welcome to Lust Estate.”
Mama smiled politely. “Thank you.”
Then Doña Pilar’s eyes shifted toward me.
I suddenly became aware of everything. My cheap sandals compared to the marble staircase. The crease on my dress from sitting too long on the yacht.
“Ms. Reyes,” Doña Pilar finally said.
“Your rooms have already been prepared.”
I wanted to smile, but I stopped myself. Parang hindi ko ma-imagine na magkakaroon ako ng sariling kwarto inside a mansion this huge.
“Thank you po,” sagot ko agad.
Her eyes lingered on me one second longer before looking at Mama.
“Mr. Montemayor is waiting for you in his office,” she said.
I was trying to appreciate how expensive everything looked here.
A beautiful, elegant woman. But there was something haunting about her eyes. Parang malungkot siya kahit nakangiti.
“Valentina Montemayor.”
Napalingon agad ako sa nagsalita.
My eyes widened.
Napatingala ako sa tangkad ng lalake, the mysterious man.
“What the— sinusundan mo ba ‘ko?”
I could still imagine the way he kept looking at me while moving inside that girl.
Uminit ang buong mukha ko.
“No,” he said calmly. “You’re standing in my house.”
Napaawang ang labi ko.
Before I could answer, isang maid ang nagmamadaling lumapit sa kanya.
“Sir, the west wing—”
Enzo cut her off with one look.
Not even a word.
The maid immediately lowered her head.
“Later,” he said quietly.
My brows furrowed. “You own this house? Does that mean… daddy mo si Marcelo?”
He shrugged. “I’m Enzo.”
Napakurap-kurap ako. “So you’re gonna be my—” No way! Hindi ko matanggap. Hindi puwede. I mean, why not? Pero…
“Stepbrother.
“What the fuck?”
His gaze stayed locked on mine habang mabagal siyang humakbang palapit until I could smell his mysterious, dark scent again.
My pulse stumbled.
Fuck.
I swallowed hard.
A slow smile appeared on his face.
“Because,” he said softly, eyes dropping briefly to my mouth again, “you looked at me like you were imagining yourself in her place.”
Napalunok ako.
Heat exploded across my entire body.
“If you wanna taste me too, Amara… you could always ask nicely.”
Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. “Ano?”“Not the big wedding. Not in front of them.” His voice grew stronger, more urgent. “Secret. Just us. Somewhere away from this island’s eyes. A real one. Where I can promise you in front of God or whoever is listening that I choose you. Not the Montemayor name. Not the power. Paano kapag nalaman nila?”“I know it’s crazy. I know the timing is shit.” He cupped my face again, eyes intense. “But I’m tired of hiding, Amara. Tired of pretending I don’t want a future with you. If we wait for the perfect moment, it might never come. This island will take it from us.”I searched his eyes. There was fear there too.“Secret marriage…” I whispered, testing the words. Parang nakakatakot pero parang may liwanag din.Yumakap ako sa kanya, not because I fully believed everything would be okay, but because for that moment, gusto kong maniwala.Humiga lang kami, still tangle
“I’m not an outsider. My mother is marrying Marcelo.” Kumuyom ang kamao ko. “Exactly. Which makes this…” She gestured between me and Enzo. “Even messier. Imagine the scandal if photos of this little hallway moment got out. Or worse — if dear Carmelle found out her daughter is spreading her legs for her future stepson.”“Watch your mouth,” babala ni Enzo.Ngumisi si Ysabel. “Or what? You’ll choose her over everything? Over your father’s plans? Over Vienna?” She looked at me again, eyes gleaming. “She’s coming soon, you know. And she doesn’t share what’s hers.”Nasusuka ako sa kaba. Dito, sa Lust Estate, everything was poison wrapped in gold.“Ysabel,” Enzo said, stepping forward. “If you say a word—”“I won’t. Not yet. I like watching things burn slowly. But Amara…” She met my eyes directly. “Enjoy him while you can. Because when the wedding happens, and when the real games start… secrets like this? They have a way of destroyin
“Atlas,” Marcelo said, without taking his eyes off Enzo. “Try it exactly like that.”Enzo stepped back toward the monitor, his face unreadable, pero ang mga mata niya… nanatili sa akin. Parang sinasabi niyang akin ka pa rin.Atlas took his position beside me. His hand landed where Enzo’s had been. The photographer took the shot. “Beautiful,” he said. “Much better.”“Very good.” “Now let’s make it more intimate.”Biglang nawalan ng hangin ang veranda.Atlas’s hand stiffened on my waist. Enzo’s eyes sharpened from the side.“More intimate, sir?” tanong ng photographer.“Y
Kinabukasan, hindi ako ginising ng alarm.Ginising ako ng tanong ni Marcelo. Is there something between you and my son that I should know?Paulit-ulit iyong bumalik sa utak ko habang nakaupo ako sa harap ng vanity mirror, surrounded by strangers touching my hair, my face, my skin. May garment bags, boxes of jewelry, perfume bottles, and people moving around me like my body was no longer mine.Today, I was the girl who had to stand beside Atlas De Silva and pretend she wasn’t thinking about Enzo Montemayor’s mouth on her skin.“Ang ganda ng skin mo, ma’am,” sambit ng makeup artist. “Almost no need to cover anything.”Bumaba ang brush niya papunta sa may collarbone ko, then stopped.Humigpit ang kapit ko sa
“Enzo…” Halos hindi lumabas ang boses ko. “Alam ba ng daddy mo?”His jaw tightened as he locked his phone. “No.”“How can you be sure?”“Because if he knew, Thiago wouldn’t be the one messaging me.”Mabilis akong bumangon mula sa picnic mat, pero nang tumayo ako, nanghina ang mga tuhod ko. Enzo caught my waist before I could stumble.“Careful.”Mabilis akong umiwas sa hawak niya. Not because I didn’t want him touching me, but because I wanted it too much.“We need to go back,” I said.“I know.”Mahina pa ring kumikislap ang picnic lights sa pagitan ng mga palm trees. The sea was still calm. The moon was still beautiful. But everything felt different now.Kanina, this island felt like a secret made only for us. My fingers shook as I fixed my dress. His knuckles brushed my spine, and I hated the way my body stil
“Enzo, sino ’yon?” Enzo brushed his thumb along my cheek. “Stay here. Put something on, Amour. I’ll answer the door.”“Don’t open it!”He kissed my forehead. His lips were swollen, his neck marked by something I didn’t even remember leaving.Muling may kumatok. “Sir?” It was Thiago! “Lunch is ready.”Lunch? I blinked.Enzo nodded. “Give us a minute.”Nang tuluyang makaalis si Thiago, saka lang ako nakahinga.Isinara ni Enzo ang pinto at humarap sa akin.“Come,” he said, taking my hand. Pagdatin
Napalunok ako, cheeks burning. “As deep as you can,” I whispered. Napakagat ako sa ibabang labi ko, but he caught it with his thumb.“Let it out, Amour,” he murmured, thumb brushing my lip. “I want every
“I’d take that as a yes,” Enzo said nang hindi ako nakapagsalita. My pulse raced as he found the zipper. Slowly, he pulled it d
“Enzo… m-masakit…”
