Valentina

The battle in front of the mirror continues.

My subconscious tuts, mocking me. *He chose you for weekends Valentina...* she corrects. 'There’s a difference.*

My reflection blurs. I’m not crying. I refuse to cry before I even try. My hands are trembling but I force them steady.

Brave isn’t the absence of fear. Brave is knowing every reason you should stop… and doing it anyway.

He could say no. But if he says yes…If he says yes, then maybe I’m not just his weekend secret. Maybe I’m not an intrusion. Maybe he could be mine as much as I am already his.

I take a shaky breath and whisper it to myself like a prayer and a threat: “Leap Day, take the Leap Valentina.” Inside my heart races but says with quiet confidence. *He’s worth the fall.* I straighten my shoulders.

Tonight I’m choosing brave.

I release my long curly locks from the loose bun it had been tied in and it falls in a silky curtain down my back.

No sooner that I put on a loose robe and belted it covering up the sexy corset, I heard the click of the front door.

As I came out the room, barefoot Nash looked quizzically at the intimate dinner set up. He gave me a suspicious look already tensing. “What’s all this Valentina?” he asked gesturing to the table.

“You didn’t make it to my graduation three weeks ago.” I replied softly. “I thought we could have a belated celebration. Just you and me.” I said looking at him hopefully.

Something passed over his eyes…guilt maybe but he shrugged his shoulders. “I didn’t miss it Valentina.” He paused to let that sink in. “I chose not to come.” He said pointedly.

I had to will myself not to flinch. For my facial muscles to not pinch. My eyes burned but I pasted a smile on my face regardless. “Well then I can celebrate and you can just enjoy the dinner I prepared.” I quipped back.

Even if he joined me reluctantly at the table, he definitely enjoyed the fruits of my labour. “This is excellent Valentina. Restaurant quality.” He said appreciatively, even taking seconds.

I pushed the food around on my plate. Even though the praise warmed me, his first reaction had killed my appetite.

After dessert, I picked up our plates. “Why don’t you go shower while I clear up here.” I suggested.

“You sure?” he asked. “I feel I should pitch in after you went all out on that dinner.”

My smile was real this time. See…he wasn’t a complete douche. “Go ahead. I’ll be waiting for you.” He nodded and turned, leaving me alone in the kitchen and my nervousness for the second bit.

I had just switched off the kitchen light when Nash stepped out of his room, smelling like cedar and sin.

He was dressed in loose grey joggers and a black Henley stretched tight over his broad muscular chest.

I took a deep breath and then just went for it. I undid the belt and let the robe fall open.

And one look at me and Nash lost it. “Fucking hell Valencia…”. He hissed.

His eyes swept over me from my head to my bare feet and back up again…the pupils of his eyes dilating. “You are so fucking beautiful…fuck your tits in that thing…”

Taking heart from his reaction, I walked over while his eyes just stayed glued to me. I took his big hand and led him to my room. My hands were shaking as I closed the bedroom door behind us.

Normally, this would be happening in the playroom—the room designated for our scenes, equipped with everything Nash needed to take control.

But to nite belonged to me.

It was Leap Day, when I was allowed to switch and claim this night. And I'd spent the last three weeks gathering the courage to ask for something different.

His blue eyes studied me with that familiar intensity, a half-smile playing on his lips. He knew something was coming. He always knew. But he was waiting for me to do it, he was not going to make this easy for me.

"Strip," I said, and my voice came out smaller than I wanted. Nash's eyebrows lifted, but he didn't argue. He pulled his shirt over his head, revealing that broad chest I'd worshipped a hundred times before—but always after he'd taken control.

The muscles in his shoulders flexed as he tugged off his sweats and kicked them aside.

My mouth watered as all that glorious skin and muscle was revealed and I watched his glorious cock spring free, already half-hard.

I swallowed hard. *You can do this Valencia. You asked for this. Just... lead.* I coached myself. "Lie down," I whispered, gesturing to my bed—my soft, floral-scented bed that had never seen anything like what I had planned.

He obeyed, stretching out on his back, his body taking up nearly the entire mattress. I crawled up beside him, the fur-lined cuffs I'd hidden under my pillow cool in my trembling hands.

"What are those, baby girl?" His voice was low, amused, but with an edge of curiosity. I didn't answer. I just reached for his right wrist.

He let me. That surprised me. But when I moved to secure the second cuff to the headboard, he stiffened. "Valentina…"

"Nash, please." I met his eyes, feeling the heat rush to my cheeks. "You promised. Let me... let me do this. Tonight. Just tonight."

He studied me for a long moment, that blue gaze searching mine. Then he let his wrist fall into place, and I snapped the cuff closed. I secured the other one too, making sure they were tight enough to hold but not enough to hurt.

His arms were stretched above his head now, muscles straining, and I could see the slightest flicker of uncertainty in his expression.

He wasn't used to this. Neither was I. But I wanted it. Him. All of him, on my terms, just once.

ValentinaTwo Years Ago – Friday 6th March 2024 - En Route to JFK AirportThrough teary eyes, I watched my uber pulled up to the kerb. The Uber driver stepped out and loaded my luggage into the trunk before opening the back door for me. "JFK?" he asked kindly. I nodded mutely. The warmth inside the car made everything worse somehow. As if the comfort and sanctuary of it was mocking the coldness and isolation that was already wrapping itself around my soul.As we pulled away from the curb, I looked up automatically toward the towering penthouse windows high above the city.Dark. Empty. No sign that once I had lived and loved there. My vision blurred again instantly. With every block we put between us, it felt as though another piece of my heart was being left behind. The ache became unbearable.I wrapped my arms around myself as if I could somehow hold together everything that had just shattered.I couldn't.The first sob escaped before I could stop it.Then another. Soon my entire bo

The other women were still coming and going.Good. It meant she was nothing special, just clever enough to negotiate a better deal. At the end of the day, she was just another fucktoy. Nash remained true to form. It was just sex, bought and paid for. Nothing more. But I had kept tabs, waiting for the expiration date. Then Norman phoned one Friday afternoon. "I've got movement." I remembered smiling with satisfaction. "She's leaving."His surveillance photographs arrived within the hour. Valentina Rossi. Dragging two suitcases out of the luxury building. Face blotchy, streaked with tears as she entered the taxi.Good…she was given the boot. Nash never went back for seconds, so there would be no reconciliation. No looking back.I had smiled into my whisky. “That’s right you little gold digger. Go on your merry way.” Order was rest

Gordon Blackthorpe31st March 2025 - Blackthorpe Estate, Upper East SideI poured myself a double Macallan and downed it neat. The whisky burned all the way down, but I barely noticed. It may as well have been cheap rotgut for all I cared. Tonight I wasn't drinking to appreciate eighteen years of craftsmanship and smoky perfection. I was drinking because I was furious.I poured another double and carried the crystal tumbler to my study. The familiar scent of polished mahogany and leather usually calmed me. Tonight, it did nothing.I lowered myself into the wingback chair behind my desk, the leather creaking beneath my weight, and stared out over the manicured gardens lit up by flares in late evening.Every inch of it represented decades of sacrifice, ruthless decisions and calculated risks. It represented control. Tonight, for the first time in years...I felt it slipping. I stared out at the perfectly manicured grounds now lit up with garden flares, my grip tightening around the glas

ValentinaSunday, 8th February 2026We said our goodbyes to the Belladonna team amid another round of hugs and excited promises.Matteo clasped my hands warmly when we got to the entrance. "Bellina, you saved my show. Both of you did." He looked between Ethan and me before smiling. "I will never forget this."I laughed softly. "You can stop thanking us now.""No." He placed a dramatic hand over his heart. "Italians don't work that way."Everyone chuckled. He turned serious again. "I'll need you back Monday, Wednesday and Friday from twelve until two. Final fittings, rehearsal walks, choreography. We only have five days until the show."I nodded. "I'll be here."He nodded and then mused. "And I still need to figure out how I'm going to repay you both.""You already have," Ethan answered easily. "Seeing Val in that white excuse for clothing, my sister smiling like a goof and discovering an alternate career path if law doesn’t cut it…” Ethan teased.I blushed…hard…Olivia elbowed me in th

NashThursday - 31 March 2025 - Midas Media Head OfficeI shook my head at my father slowly. “You really don’t know her.”“I know women.” He shot back. His voice was full of certainty. “They all want something.” Then he delivered the blow that made my stomach sink. “If she was so different...” He spread his hands. “...why did you keep her a secret? You never introduced her. You never took her to functions. None of us ever met her. Because you never acknowledged her publicly.”His eyes locked onto mine. “Because deep down...even you knew exactly what she was.”The words hit like a fist. Because...He wasn’t entirely wrong. Not about Valentina. But about me. I’d found a woman unlike anyone I’d ever met. A woman who stood head and shoulders above every casual arrangement I’d ever had. And despite recognising she was different... I’d still placed her inside the exact same box.Another contracted arrangement. The NDA. The apartment, the allowance. Set boundaries. No future. No promises. N

NashThursday - 31 March 2025 - Midas Media Head OfficeMy father’s eyes flashed. “So you’ll throw away an empire?”I didn’t hesitate. “If that’s the price...yes.”For a long moment nobody spoke. Then Father’s expression changed. It became calculating. Almost smug. “Oh...I understand now.” His eyes locked onto mine. “So this is about her.”A knot tightened low in my stomach. “What are you talking about?”He gave a sound of disgust. “That little trailer-park bitch. I will never allow trash like that to carry the Blackthorpe name.”Everything inside me went still. Across me, Mason slowly lowered his whisky glass onto the desk.Neither of us spoke. We simply stared at him in shock. He couldn’t possibly...He didn’t even know Valentina. Or so I’d thought.I felt my jaw tighten but I didn’t cave. “Who exactly are you talking about?” I asked quietly. A cruel smile spread across Father’s face. “Oh...so now you want to play ignorant? Like you really don’t know.” He looked almost pleased. “I
