Kimberly Pov

Later that evening, I went to the Skye Hotel, and I was directed to the VVIP. Vaelor was already seated, waiting for me.

A good sign.

I sat across from my husband. Drinks were already placed on the table, and I immediately began wondering how I would reject them without raising suspicion about my pregnancy.

This is where we had our first date, and memories of that night still remain fresh in my head.

Back then Vaelor was so gentle and attentive.

Suddenly Vaelor reached across the table and took my hands in his. Not barely brushing them, but he was actually holding me for the first time since Clara arrived.

“There's something I want to explain about what happened earlier at the hospital—”

Before he could finish the glass door opened.

His beta, Steve, came rushing in.

He went to his side and whispered something into his ear. The room was quiet, so I heard him talking about Clara being injured, and instantly, my husband's countenance changed.

I let out a slow breath.

At least now I wouldn’t have to drink the alcohol anymore.

“What?” Vaelor shot to his feet. His legs hit the table, and the drinks on it fell to the floor.

Glasses were scattered all over the floor.

He didn't care to look back; he was already at the door.

Watching his back, for the first time, I wondered—if I called out to him, would he turn around?

Would he leave Clara behind, just once, for me?

“Wait…” I tried to reach him, but stepped on broken glass. The sharp glass sliced into my foot.

Pain shot up my leg, and my balance slipped on the spilled drink.

I crashed on the floor.

“Ah—!” A cry escaped my throat.

The world tilted around me.

Vaelor paused at the doorway, looking between Steve and me.

I imagined he would come over and hold me—at least take me to the hospital first.

However, after seconds of calculation, he finally said to his beta.

“Take her to the hospital.”

My vision blurred as I watched Vaelor running down the stairs.

I hear fragments of conversations.

“Give her first aid. I will be there soon.”

Then silence followed.

“Are you okay?” Steve rushed beside me.

I tried to keep my eyes open, but the darkness swallowed me whole.

*******

First, the faint scent of the hospital smell hit my nostril, then it came sharper and stronger, my eyes fluttered open.

I saw the doctor talking to Steve. Panicked shot through me. He shouldn't find out about the pregnancy.

“Good thing you brought her early,” the doctor said. “Her condition could have…”

My throat dried. This is not good.

The ringing of Steve's phone distracted the doctor from speaking further.

“Excuse me,” he picked up the call.

I knew he was talking with Vaelor. I couldn’t hear the other side of the call, but Steve nodded several times.

“Yes, Alpha.”

“I’m on my way, sir.”

He placed the Knight's black master card on the doctor's desk.

“Discharge her once the treatment is complete.”

"Yes, sir..." The doctor's voice trembled.

Without giving me a glance, he dashed out of the room.

I made a low sound as I sat upright on the bed.

“You’re awake,” the doctor said, turning to me.

She paused, studying my face more carefully.

Then her eyes flickered toward the card Steve had left behind.

“You were brought here personally by Beta Steve,” she said slowly. “That’s not something that happens for ordinary pack members.”

My fingers tightened around the bedsheet.

“You must be someone important.”

I forced a calm expression.

“I’m not his mate,” I said quietly. “Nor am I the Alpha’s fiancée.”

The doctor raised an eyebrow.

“Then who are you?”

I lowered my gaze.

“Just someone who doesn’t want unnecessary attention.”

The doctor remained silent for a moment.

Then she checked the report again.

“The baby is healthy,” she said finally. “And your injuries are minor. But given your condition, you should stay here for twenty-four hours.”

Relief and fear mixed in my chest.

“When is the beta coming back so I can inform him about your condition..."

Before she could say anything else, I spoke quickly.

“Doctor… please.”

She looked up.

“Don’t tell anyone about the pregnancy.”

Her brows furrowed slightly.

“You realize that the Beta who brought you here will likely ask about your condition.”

“I’ll handle that myself,” I said.

For a moment, she hesitated.

Then she nodded slowly.

“…Very well.”

*******

The following day, I was discharged.

As I walked through the hospital corridor, hushed whispers drifted through the curtains.

“I swear, I’ve been smelling love in the air ever since Alpha Vaelor arrived with his fiancée,” one nurse whispered.

“They've turned room 360 into a romantic world with roses and romantic letters everywhere.” Another answered her.

“Alpha Vaelor hasn't left her side since yesterday. Did you see how he carried her into the hospital? I thought I was watching an opera.”

I could imagine some of them wishing to be Clara.

“Ten years of being together,” one nurse sighed. “And he still treats her like a princess.”

Their words cut deeper than a knife.

While I was dying at the hospital, my husband was playing devoted lover with Clara.

“I heard Clara is carrying his heir. He hired all the best doctors in the pack to attend to her when he brought her.”

I sighed. Feeling a hard pang in my chest. No one will remember me, not even as Vaelor's secret wife.

While I remained as Vaelor's secret wife, he was flaunting Clara to the world.

Immediately I left the hospital, I went straight to the court to pick up the divorce paper.

I'll be leaving Crescent pack tomorrow.

I had set the divorce email to be sent to Valero three days after I must have left the pack.

Vaelor will turn the world upside-down in search of me, but he won't find me, not even my shadow.

Today ends my three-year journey with Vaelor.

DIVORCED.

The word stared back at me from the paper.

Three years of loving Vaelor Knight ended with a single stamp.

Three years of being his secret wife.

Three years of loving him.

I folded the document carefully.

Tomorrow, I will leave Crescent Pack.

And this time, I wouldn't look back.

Kimberly's povI clocked out of work expecting an uneventful night, my kids were already fast asleep they usually were by the time I got back. Sometimes they would try to stay awake for me, but that would just lead to them falling asleep in the living room and Martha and I taking them up to their rooms. The maid was still coming but I will have to let her go soon because Martha's hand is quickly recovering and soon we will be able to take off the cast. When I arrived home this time, the kids were already up in their room, so far Vaelor had been able to restore 30% of what had been taken away from the house. He couldn't just bring back the old things because they had already been transported over to the Red zone, and it wouldn't be wise to return them back to the Green zone so they had to remain there and we needed replacements. "I want to pay for some of it," I had told him mostly out of courtesy and he understood this, insisting that he wanted to pay for everything because it was

Kimberley’s POV“Kimberly, are those children mine?”It was as though all the air inside of my lungs had been sucked out with a vacuum, but I stilled the reactions on my face so it would not betray the truth to him."Why are you bringing this up again? We have already discussed this. It was a short relationship that didn’t go anywhere—nothing to do with you," I said, stepping closer and trying to seem confident. "I don’t care if this is mind-blowing to you, but you’re not the only man in my life. What did you think was going to happen? That I’d spend the last five years with a lock between my legs expecting some kind of reunion with you?"The stifling silence that followed told me that there was some honesty in my words, and I spat out a laugh. "Sorry, Alpha Vaelor. I hate to disappoint you, but that’s not what happened. The children are anything but yours."He seemed unable to meet my eyes. Then, in a frustrated tone, he said, "But one of them has my eyes. One of the girls, she..."H

  • Chasing Back My Secret Luna   Chapter 101

Kimberly's POV I was only by myself for a few minutes before Vaelor came in.In my entire life I had not seen somebody so relieved to see me before. Before I could say anything or even ask him any questions at all, he had come over to me and then he pulled me into his embrace, instantly, I felt like I was melting against him but I had to build up some muscles immediately to make sure that I did not start purring in his arms. By the time I had collected myself, he finally pulled away but not completely. Slowly, his hand slid over mine and he took a look at it before returning to his side. There was already a chair propped next to his bed telling me that he had come here often to check up on me and that warmed up something inside of me that I was trying so hard to keep cold and frozen.“I know you're probably curious to know what happened, maybe you should rest a little bit more…I'm going to call a servant to get you some food to eat, I don't think you've eaten anything. You seem to ha

  • Chasing Back My Secret Luna   Chapter 100 Be A Good Father

Kimberly's POV What I thought would just be a minor disagreement between my kids was gradually turning into something more, Vaelor left after a few more hours and Rosalie had mostly remained by his side during that time. When it was time for supper she said that she didn't want to sit on the same table with her brother, I told her that it wasn't right and both of them needed to share the table together because they were family. At first I was still taking it a bit slightly because my triplets hardly ever argued with each other and even if they did as children they quickly forgot about it and were back to playing again. But I had not realized just how much the experiences had begun to age and mature them, more than how they should be at 5 going to 6. Rosalie had refused to touch her food even if it was her favorite spaghetti and meatballs, when I probed her to know if there was anything I could do she said no. “Nate was mean…Nate has to say sorry!”Nate refused to apologize, and I

  • Chasing Back My Secret Luna   Chapter 99 I don't want him

Kimberly’s pov “Who wants lemonade?" Martha said and the children squealed happily.Once life gets so hectic it's good to find joy in the little moments, if I have learned anything from the roller coaster of events that is in my life I usually have to steal this moments and crushed them close to my chest because before long something comes riding out of the horizon, and I'll have to tackle it all over again before another brief interval of peace. Today was one of such days, I had clocked out extra early, that is by 12:00 noon. Truthfully I had been mentioning to Vaelor that the whole process of refilling the house of the things that Clara had transported over to the red zone took a long time, it was just a casual comment and I did not really expect anything to come out of it. But that was until he told me that I should clock out early and we will take care of it today. Everything had already been delivered in boxes and those that hadn't worn in the truck outside, I didn't have to l
