LOGINIRIS POV:
The highway stretched out like an endless ride; the estate lights had disappeared completely behind us. The Rolls-Royce glided so smoothly I almost forgot we were moving, only the low hum of the engine and the occasional soft click of the tires over expansion joints reminded me this wasn’t a dream. I kept stealing glances at him. He sat relaxed, one arm draped along the back of the seat, the other resting loosely on his thigh. The white suit should have looked out of place in the dead of night, but on him it didn’t. It looked like armor. I wanted to ask him where we're going but my wolf seemed to trust him more than I did. I swallowed. “Where… where are we going?” I asked softly. He turned his head slowly, those storm-gray eyes catching mine. “Somewhere safe,” he said simply. “Somewhere no one will look for you tonight.” “That’s not an answer.” One corner of his mouth lifted like a smile. “North,” he said after a beat. “Past the border territories. I have a little property I keep there.” “And after tonight?” I pressed. “What happens when my father’s trackers find me? When Nicholas demands his ‘stolen’ mate back? You will be punished by the alpha, you know that, right.” He leaned backwards. “Don't worry, they can't do anything.” My eyes widened. Why does he speak with such authority, he's not the alpha then who is he to challenge the Alpha's son. He reached over, slowly, giving me time to pull away, and took the glass from my hand. His fingers brushed mine for the briefest second. Sparks raced up my arm, warm and electric. My wolf sighed in pure contentment. He set both glasses back in their hidden compartment. The panel closed with a soft click. “Lie back if you want,” he murmured. “There’s a blanket in the side pocket. We’ve got a few hours before dawn.” I certainly won't do such, not in the car of someone this strange. “Thanks but I'll stay away, I can't sleep in the car of someone I don't know.” This time he answered without looking at me. “Call me Aurelian,” he said quietly. “For now… that’s enough.” Aurelian? The name sounded familiar, maybe from a magazine or TV show but I wasn't sure. “I would have introduced myself too but it seems you already know who I am.” He laughed a little. “Also from the borders, just don't speak to me unless you're being spoken to,” he stated. Who does he think he is to tell me that? I kept calm but I was furious deep down. As we drove, I looked outside, trying to anchor myself with something. The highway was quiet, flanked by dark trees and the occasional glow of distant pack outposts. Then we passed it: the massive electronic billboard that towered over the northern interchange, the biggest in Dark Moon territory. Everyone knew it. It cycled through high-end advertisements like a living magazine, private jet charters, rare moon-blessed jewelry, luxury estates carved into sacred cliffs, always the most extravagant things money or power could buy. The screen shifted smoothly from a shimmering ad for handcrafted silver athames to something new. My breath caught. The image changed to a crisp, professional news-style graphic: bold white text over a sleek black background, overlaid with a recent photo of a man in a tailored white suit stepping out of a private aircraft. The headline scrolled in elegant, scrolling letters: “AURELIAN SIGHTED: Enigmatic Tycoon Returns to Dark Moon Lands – First Visible Appearance in Four Years” Below it, smaller subtext flashed in rapid succession: “Multiple Alpha delegations reportedly on standby. Unconfirmed reports of closed-door summits at undisclosed locations.” “Territory-wide security protocols elevated. Local packs advised: no unsanctioned approaches.” “His companies remain the silent backbone of half the allied economies. What brings the ghost back now?” The photo zoomed in slightly as the ad cycled. Bald head, sharp cheekbones, neatly trimmed beard, storm-gray eyes staring straight into the camera with that same unreadable intensity I’d seen up close. It was him. Exactly him. My heart slammed against my ribs so hard I thought he’d hear it. I whipped my head toward the man beside me, Aurelian. He was still looking forward, one hand resting lightly on the armrest, with a calm expression. He hadn’t glanced at the billboard. He hadn’t reacted at all. But the name. Aurelian. It clicked now, why it sounded familiar. Not from some magazine fluff piece or TV gossip. From hushed conversations at pack dinners. From warnings my father used to mutter when he thought I wasn’t listening. From the kind of stories enforcers told in low voices when they thought no one important was around. Aurelian. The man who didn’t belong to any pack. The one who moved between territories like smoke. The one they said controlled more wealth, more secrets, and more quiet power than most Alphas ever dreamed of. That was the name that always came up,like a myth. And he was sitting right here. In the same car. Driving me north. Telling me not to worry about Nicholas or my father. Because apparently, he didn’t have to worry about them. I pressed my lips together to keep from making a sound. My hands clenched in the folds of my gown so tightly the beads dug into my palms. He finally turned his head, just slightly, sensing my stare. “Something on your mind?” he asked, voice low and even. I swallowed once. Twice. “…No,” I lied, forcing my eyes back to the window. The billboard had already cycled to the next ad, a diamond-encrusted moon pendant, but the image of his face lingered in my mind like an afterimage burned into glass. Aurelian. Not just a stranger with expensive wine and a Rolls-Royce. A name that made Alphas check their doors at night. And I was in his car. Running from one cage… straight into whatever world he ruled.SERAH POV:I stood in front of the mirror for the tenth time, adjusting the straps of my dress. The fabric was dark red and it hugged my body in all the right places. I had spent the last hour getting ready. Candles were lit across the living room. Soft music played from the speaker near the window. Everything was perfect.I looked at myself again. My hair was down, my makeup was light but noticeable. I wanted tonight to be something I and Stephen would never forget. I wanted to feel like I was choosing him, not like the universe was forcing us together. Then an idea hit me. Why not record this? I could watch it later. Remember the moment he walked in, the way he looked at me, the way everything felt.I grabbed my phone and set up one camera in the living room, facing the door. That would catch him when he first showed up. I set another one near the staircase, angled so it would catch us if we kissed our way up to the bedroom. Then I set a third one inside the bedroom, hidden near the
IRIS POV:I sat quietly beside Serah while lights passed outside the windows. My head still hurt slightly from everything I remembered. Every time I closed my eyes, flashes of the old reality appeared again. Everything felt mixed together.Serah kept glancing at me every few seconds like she was afraid I would suddenly disappear again."You okay?" she asked softly.I nodded weakly. But honestly, I didn't know. There was only one thing I knew for sure right now."I want to see my mom.""Alright, I'll drop you there."I nodded."You know, in the other reality… she was in a coma."Serah stayed quiet."Aurelian said she would stay like that for years," I whispered. "More than ten years."But here, my mother was alive and healthy. One of the few beautiful things this reality gave me.Serah's expression softened."I wish I remembered," Serah said."I wish you did," I whispered to myself.I smiled and looked out the window quietly while she drove. The closer we got to the mansion, the faster
ZEVARIS POV: I stood there quietly, staring at the waves of the river. Interesting. Very interesting. I looked down at my hands slowly. I flexed my fingers slightly and smiled faintly. "So this is what it feels like to be Virx." I turned around and Rowe and Stephen immediately straightened. Neither of them noticed anything wrong. Of course they didn't. I walked towards the car. "We're heading back to the mansion." He nodded. "Yes, Boss." All three of us entered the car and the engine started. —·—·—·—·—·—·— SERAH POV: I kept glancing toward Iris every few seconds. Her breathing had become steadier. Then suddenly, Iris coughed violently beside me. "Iris?" Her body jerked slightly before her eyes slowly opened. "Oh my God…" I slowed the car slightly. "You're okay," I said quickly. "You're alright." She blinked slowly while looking around. She looked confused. Then suddenly, her entire expression changed. "Iris?" She slowly looked at me and the way she looked at me mad
AURELIAN POV:"Zevaris? Your brother?" I asked. "The same one who asked for knowledge from the moon goddess?""Yes," Vaelthor answered."And what business do I have with him?""You have something of mine in you. And I suppose he told you to kill yourself.""Yes.""Hmm… Zevaris… what brings you here," he whispered. "Thank you for the message. Iris will be fine but you must be ready to face the consequences when it comes, because it will."Everything suddenly became dark. The palace vanished. Vaelthor vanished. Kael vanished. It felt like the entire world beneath me disappeared. Then I fell. For one brief second, there was nothing but darkness and the feeling of sinking endlessly. Then immediately, my eyes snapped open.I was on the shore. My body jerked upward violently just as Serah raised the gun again toward my head."Wait!" I shouted quickly.Serah froze."It worked," I said immediately."What? You're still alive?" she said.I pointed toward Iris. Serah turned instantly. Rowe and S
AURELIAN POV:"Fuck!" My eyes snapped open as I violently rubbed my face, but the bullets were gone.I looked around and I was standing in a familiar place. Vaelthor's palace. I turned around and looked towards the end of the wide palace where his throne sat. Two armed guards stood side by side before his throne.Anger burned in my chest as I walked towards him. I reached the guards and they blocked me."Get out of my way," I growled under my breath."The king didn't permit you," the man said back.I ignored him and took a step forward. The two guards moved at the same time. A palm slammed into my chest before I could react. The force launched me several feet backward across the polished floor. I slid violently before stopping near one of the massive pillars.Pain burned through my ribs as I slowly looked up. Vaelthor hadn't moved. He sat on his throne with one arm resting against the side of his face, watching silently. Like he wanted to see what would happen. Like this was entertain
AURELIAN POV:I opened my eyes and I was back. I still held Iris's hands in mine, but she wasn't speaking again. Her face had gone pale and her skin was gray, with cracks over them.I held her carefully and kept her on the ground."You won't die. That I promise you."I looked up and saw a mountain. It was the highest on the whole island."Don't heal," I said to my wolf.'I can't. If the damage can be healed then I'll have no other choice than to heal myself.'"Then I'll have to make sure the damage can't be," I said.I looked around desperately. Then my eyes landed on a sharp rock. It stood out from the others near the bottom of the mountain, long and jagged like a spear pointed toward the sky.And suddenly an idea formed in my head. If normal damage healed, then maybe complete destruction wouldn't. Maybe if I shattered enough of my body at once, I looked back at Iris lying motionless on the ground. Gray cracks were spreading slowly across her skin. Time was running out.I turned towa
AURELIAN POV:I looked at her quietly for a few seconds before finally speaking."What is the first law every parent must obey the moment a pup is born?"Iris frowned slightly, confused by the sudden question."What?""The law," I repeated calmly. "The first law."Then realization crossed her face
AURELIAN POV:I closed my eyes and let my body go limp. The pain from the rod in my leg was real, but I couldn't heal in front of her. Not yet.Minutes passed. For several minutes, I kept my eyes closed while distant voices echoed around me."Careful!""Lift him slowly!""There's too much blood…"H
IRIS POV:Rain poured quietly over the graveyard. I stood there holding the black umbrella weakly while Serah stayed beside me in silence. The wind moved softly through the trees and the sky looked grey and empty above us.In front of me was Aurelian's grave. Fresh soil, fresh flowers. And his name
IRIS POV:It's been over two days since the death of the Lycan lady and Aurelian has been in anguish. He's refused to eat anything ever since.“But why not talk to him?” Rowe suggested, looking uncertain.“He's been quiet since we left the mountain, I mean what more can I tell him?”“At least you t
