THE LETTER

I closed the door as it banged, its echo leaving a hollow feeling.

My heart thudded erratically against my chest as I stared at the letter in my hands.

What exactly was inside? And who had sent it to me? Why?

Questions filled my head from different angles. I've heard of cases where girls receive an anonymous letter telling them lies and secretly kidnapping them if they happen to fall for the trap.

I held the envelope, which suddenly felt heavier than before.

But of course, how else was I supposed to know if I didn't open it?

I tore the letter open, and a white paper wrapped and tied with a blue silk ribbon sat inside the mail.

Clean. Untouched.

LEA was boldly written with their symbol at the side [an eagle stretched out, ready to fly].

No way. I whispered in my head. I hit my face twice to make sure it wasn't one of my numerous dreams.

But the letter still lay cold in my hands; my fingers tightened around it, and I did the only thing I could.

I laughed, but then it broke into something louder. I was screaming.

I fucking screamed because this was a miracle.

The letter read:

I fell slowly to the floor as tears streamed down my face in waves.

She still remembered and still cared even when she was gone. I could feel her presence.

Flashback

“Elena, why can't I go to the same school as Rachel? Their uniform is lovely, and I also like the school setting,” I pouted.

“Jordan! It's Mother, not Elena, and how many times do I have to tell you to stop talking while eating?" my father barked.

“She can call me whatever she likes, dear. Jordan?”

“Yes, Mom," I smiled.

“You will go to LEA when the time comes; it's a promise, ok? And then you and Rachel can always be together,” she said and drew me closer as she kissed my cheek, patting my head.

End of flashback

I wailed loudly as I fumbled to the floor, my tears a mixture of joy and sorrow.

Receiving a reminder of her supposed death was a harsh blow to my fragile heart. My legs trembled even as I walked to the couch to get a better hold of myself.

Hours later

I woke up as the sun hit my face, the sound of a car horn blaring loudly.

I must have dozed off from exhaustion.

I quickly jumped down from the bed as I rushed downstairs, and my father was back.

And so were Lillian and her followers.

“Oh my… it feels so good to be home, Lillian Love,” he smiled as they kissed each other. Lillian smiled like a perfect wife.

“Ohhh Jordan,” he said as he hugged me.

“You never grow, do you?” he teased.

“No, I never do, Dad," I smirked.

"Oh, of course, you know how short she is, darling. It's inherited,” she said to my hearing.

Unfortunately, my dad had passed me by on the way to the dining table. Tyler and Taylor surrounded him like birds.

They probably wanted to ask for their monthly allowance.

“Damn it, Lilian, you always seem to amaze me with your food,” he laughed.

“You know me, Monroe, always giving the best,” she laughed.

I scoffed as I walked to the kitchen. I could finally eat as I wanted.

Not for long, though.

Lillian strolled into the kitchen with a sly grin.

“I must say, good job, Jordan,” she smirked.

“Anything for you, sweet Mom," I smiled, and I brushed past her shoulder, leaving the kitchen as I walked to the dining room.

We were seated eating in the dining room, but my mind wasn't there. It kept going back to the letter burning a hole through my pocket.

I didn't know if I should tell Dad or not. I still couldn't run away even if I wanted to. I would get caught before I could say Jack.

“Jordan…

“Jordannnn…” I heard my name as I jerked out of my thoughts.

“Pfft… Pathetic,” Tyler scoffed silently.

“Jordan… What's going through your mind?” Lillian asked as she caressed my face, smiling.

I shook my head in amusement.

“Is something bothering you, dear sis?” Taylor asked with a smirk.

“No,” I whispered.

“C’mon, Jordeey… your mom and sisters care about you, can't you see that?” Dad said as he held Lillian's hand.

“I don't know what I would do without you, Liliian." He smiled, and the witch smiled in response.

I wanted to wipe that smile off her face so bad.

“I got mail!” I said.

Taylor and Tyler shared a glance and burst into laughter.

“Girlssss… keep it down,” Lillian barked.

They continued with their giggling, but Lillian knew something was off. She kept on pressuring me to speak.

Her eyes had a faint look.

“Who’s the mail from?” Dad asked.

At this point, the table went silent.

“LEA,” I smiled in triumph as I saw the look in Lillian's eyes.

"C'mooonnnn Jordannnn,” Taylor screamed in laughter.

“You don't know how to tell jokes, do you??” Lillian said, laughing, but I could see the fear in her eyes. Her hands betrayed the posture she was trying so hard to maintain.

“Silence!”

Dad's voice had always commanded silence.

“Let me see,” he asked, and I brought the mail out, still neat and clean.

The look on my stepsisters' faces faded.

They knew I wasn't lying.

“Oh dear, this is great news. Calls for a celebration,” Lillian said, her eyes flaring, but of course Father didn't notice that.

“Your mother had always remembered even the little things,” he whispered.

He missed her. I knew he did. Lillian rolled her eyes. “We can't possibly let Jordan go, darling,” she said, caressing his beard.

“Yes, Dad, she's doing better off with the tutor. Mr. James is a professional dad."

Taylor said, her breath hitching repeatedly.

Tyler just kept a blank face staring at me in silent shock. One never knew what she was thinking.

Lillian and her daughters kept arguing, trying to convince Dad I wasn't good enough to go.

"Dad, she can't, girls like her…

“Shut your fucking mouth, Taylor. I'm older than you guys, and I have a right to speak. Thank you.” I stood up, hitting the table.

“Sit down, Jordan,” Lillian tutted.

“Noo… I'm going to LEA, and no one's stopping me. You don't get to make the decisions. You're all…

“Enough!!” he yelled.

Once again the table was silent. Only our breaths were heard.

“I’ve made my decision.”

“And darling, remember…” Lillian tried to interrupt.

“She’s going."

  • Dangerous Obsession   THAT'S YOUR OFFER!!!!!

ALEXANDER'S POV If wishes were horses, even the dead would fly. Break her. Use her. Forget her. Move on Except I was really trying hard to get her away from my memory when I hadn't even started. Her face was implanted in my brain already. I could tell I was taking a huge risk and I loved it. I took up the bet, meaning I took up my father's wish. Not sure I knew what I was doing and why, but my instinct told me I needed to—and my instinct never lies. I cuffed my sleeves as I kicked Darren off the bed. “Get the fuck up, you dick,” I snorted. He could sleep like a log all day long and Damien had just walked in. He probably spent the night in a bitch's apartment. “Seriously, dude?” I deadpanned lazily. “What? You guys don't seem like you wanna fuck new bitches this semester and why not? The girls love me.” He laughed and smacked my ass. “They’ll get tired of you soon enough,” Darren muttered. “Hey, I'm moving back tonight, Alex. You gotta get out and go back to yo

  • Dangerous Obsession   SENSATIONAL

†ALEXANDER POV†I bit back my laughter as Jordan raced out with her tail in between her legs.Kevin still stood smirking like he had won a prize. He hadn’t.The air between us went still, the lake moving quietly and the birds seeming to have stopped singing.Kevin adjusted his sleeve like he had all the time in the world. “Cold day for a walk, don’t you think?”“Not if you know where you’re going,” I replied. My voice was even.He tilted his head. “Some places are worth getting lost in.”“Some places don’t let you leave the same,” I said, eyes flicking past him to where Jordan had vanished. That made his smirk falter.“Not all things can be owned, you know. You lose things that you can't handle at times... Alexander,” he whispered, biting his lower lip.I didn’t answer. My eyes were on Jordan’s back as she disappeared past the treeline. But something twisted in my chest. No, it wasn't jealousy. It wasn't anger. I would call it an ordinary feeling that had absolutely nothing to do with

  • Dangerous Obsession   READY OR NOT

JORDAN'S POV*******The past few days, my name had been “Alex carried her,” and Angela was so not happy about it.I watched the video go viral on the school blog. When he rushed to my side in the video, I could feel the smile touching my ears.“Don’t blush to death,” Sara laughed as we offloaded our books on the table. The librarian shushed us from her desk.“I’m not blushing.” I glared, the heat in my cheeks contrasting greatly with my words.I hated this feeling. It's stupid.Sara kept sipping her juice like she was watching a show.“Okay then, you’re not.” She teased. The librarian shushed us. Again. The library doors clicked open. I didn’t look up. It seemed irrelevant, especially when the comments had catchy phrases.##I’m guessing she's a new bitch.##JorxanderWhat the fuck?!Footsteps echoed in the library. A book fell on our table loudly. The librarian looked up and glared.Sara kicked me. I kicked back.“Hey—” James smiled, nodding at the both of us, his scent of lemons engu

  • Dangerous Obsession   THE GAME II

π•π•π•π•π JORDAN’S POV π•π•π•π•πSara was already yanking her ponytail tighter, eyes sharp.“It’s our turn. The boys lost by one goal. Let’s go show those bitches who we are,” she clapped, the sound cracking through the hallway. She was back.I exhaled. The soda can in my hand dented under my grip. The boys lost by one goal, which meant Alex lost. Which meant he was probably in that locker room right now, replaying every missed shot in his head.“Fine. War it is.” I crushed the can and tossed it.The court doors slammed open and the noise hit us like a wave. The LEA crowd was quiet. But Angela’s team hadn’t died down. Wonderful. One good thing about her: she was relentless.Ashfort’s side was loud and smug, their blue-gold banners waving like they had already won.Their cheerleaders formed an A as we walked out. Angela stood front and center, pom-poms high, her smirk aimed right at me.“Fresh meat for the wolves,” she sang under her breath.I didn’t look at her. I looked at the court.

∆∆∆∆ ALEXANDER'S POV ∆∆∆“For someone who said he's not into her, you sure do look like you want her so bad…To fuck her—Hold her—And these aren't part of your business here, Alex. Remember that.”Angela's voice echoed in my head. She had been watching me, my stares at Jordan, and my every move.Angela was a childhood friend. Her mother died when she was 10. I had been her shield till it took bigger turns and we started fucking around. Now?She doesn't want to stop, but I'm tired of it. Sex with her feels the same. No interesting shit, and it's boring, just like other bitches.I stared back at my reflection in the mirror, sighed, and took up my jersey.Today was the game.I texted Darren to go find any duplicated key that was missing from my locker. How the fuck does she get into my room??π•π•π•π•π JORDAN'S POV π•π•π•π•π“Jordan, be quick. Ashfort is arriving soon,” Sara kept mumbling ferociously, like a timer had been set and was about to go off.“Girl, calm down. They ain't runni

  • Dangerous Obsession   MY QUESTIONS DON'T GO UNANSWERED∆

I opened the news card reading in between the lines and very fast. We were having a competition with the neighborhood school {Ashfort Hall Academy}. A school just like LEA, high socials and statuses. They were probably more anonying people like Angela and the likes there. “Yeah, now that's what am talking about” Our school basketball bots had started yelling in the cafe. They always wanted an opportunity to show off. I scoffed inwardly. “Yoo…Captain. Come check this out” A dude yelled to Alexander Captain huh?? Our eyes met slowly and I smirked. He stared at th news card for a second and then at me “Guys!” “We’re babysitting the botsssss” He yelled. He seemed active this time. The crowd erupted in screams, chairs scraped. Food thrown in the air and the cafe cooks shaking their head in despair and tiredness. I laughed. It was crazy and fun to be with them at times. “Hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo” They all hooted shaking each other and my crew girls all

The classroom froze. He hit the floor, but instead of showing off his anger, he chuckled — low and unsettling. ”What have you fucking done Jordan?” I muttered.Slowly, he stood up, brushing imaginary dust off his blazer. His blue eyes locked onto mine, calm… too calm.“You’ve got guts,” he murmu

  • Dangerous Obsession   YOU DID WHAT!!??

I stormed out of the room angrily and headed towards the principal's office to drop the complaint, but the hell?????”We are sorry to inform you, Miss Jordan, the rooms are filled up and you have to manage till maybe the next semester. I promise this will be sorted out," the acting principal said.

  • Dangerous Obsession   A NEW WORLD

I replayed the scene countless times in my head. I lost my breath and didn't know when I rushed to hug my dad.Taylor had stormed out of the dining room angered, but obviously there was nothing she could do.Tyler had stared, and Lillian's eyes had shown fire, contrasting greatly with her smile.“E
