Lillian’s POV

I watched Alanna work frantically over Margaret’s still form, administering the antidote and doing everything in her power to save her. But as the minutes ticked by and Margaret remained unresponsive, I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

Someone had lost their life because they wanted to get to me. An innocent woman who’d served this pack faithfully for years was lying here dying because she’d been used as a pawn in someone’s twisted game to kill me.

“I need to call Dorian,” I said

  • Dear Ex Mate, You're Mine to Ruin   Chapter 159

Dorian’s POVI stood alone by the massive floor-to-ceiling window in my private study, staring out into the sky, silent forest that surrounded the Fangshade estate. The heavy silence of the house offered absolutely no comfort tonight. One terrifying question kept repeating inside my mind, cutting deeper with every passing second, How safe is my Luna in my own palace? This house was supposed to be a fortress, an untouchable sanctuary for the woman I loved. Yet, a group of nameless mercenaries had managed to sneak directly onto my lawns and put a knife to her throat. It was infuriating. I squeezed my eyes shut, my fists clenching so hard my knuckles popped. I began to tally the enemies gathering in the dark, wondering just how many different targets I could possibly be fighting against all at once. There was Aaron’s impossible corporate rise, the anonymous wolves tracking my car, and the mysterious omen of the black star. I was fighting a war against ghosts, and it was driving my inner

  • Dear Ex Mate, You're Mine to Ruin   Chapter 158

Dorian’s POVThe attack on Lillian was completely spontaneous, hitting us right out of the blue when we least expected it. As I stood in the damp, dimly lit basement of the pack house, my mind began racing back to the events of the previous night. A cold realization washed over me. The strange, silent wolves that had been creeping around my car when I was returning from the Alpha meeting weren't just testing my patience. They were a calculated distraction. While they kept my attention locked on the highway, their actual strike force was trying to sneak their way into my palace grounds under the cover of darkness. And the worst part was, it had almost worked. If I hadn't returned when I did, or if Aiden hadn't been down in the garden, Lillian would have been completely unprotected. I immediately sent out a full security detail to scout the entire perimeter of the property. They searched every hedge, every treeline, and every dark corner of the estate, but fortunately, there was nobody

Lillian’s POVThe intense, violent emotions rolling off Aiden were enough to make anyone panic. Hearing him threaten to murder an innocent guard just because of his own broken heart completely ticked me off inside. I felt a sudden surge of worry, but I forced my posture to stay perfectly still. I maintained a completely cool, calm expression on my face, refusing to let his dark aura scare me."Aiden, stop talking like a crazy person," I said, my voice soft but entirely firm. "Listen to me very carefully. Alanna has absolutely no other man in her life. She isn't looking at any guard. In fact, she is upstairs crying right now because she thinks the exact same thing about you. She thinks you are the one moving on with other women."Aiden froze completely. The wild, angry look in his dark eyes instantly vanished, replaced by pure shock. He blinked at me, his mouth opening slightly as his brain struggled to process my words. "What? She... she thinks that about me?""Yes, she does," I said,

Aaron’s POVI pulled the car into the long driveway of the pack house and shut off the engine. I checked my luxury watch in the dim light of the dashboard. The timing was absolutely perfect. I had managed to kill the assistant director, trick the harbor security by checking into her cruise ship cabin, and drive all the way back across the city without hitting a single delay. I smoothed down the collar of my shirt, took a deep breath to shake off the lingering scent of rain and blood, and walked inside. I was right on time for dinner. The moment I stepped through the grand front doors, the rich, heavy scent of roasted meat, expensive wine, and sweet spices hit my nose.I walked into the formal dining room and saw that Shantel had gone completely all out. She had prepared a truly luxurious meal. The massive mahogany table was covered in fine silver plates, glowing candles, and a massive spread of high-end food that could easily feed a dozen Alphas.Shantel was sitting at the head of the

Chapter 155Aaron’s POVThe heavy wooden door opened, and Shantel walked back into the suite just as the final click of the call disconnected. I quickly slid the burner phone into my pocket, smoothing down my expression before she could notice the lingering tension on my face. She stopped in her tracks, her sharp eyes instantly scanning the room. She narrowed her gaze, sniffing the air with a slight frown. "The air in here feels a little bit stale, Aaron," she remarked, walking closer to my desk. "Almost heavy. Did someone else come in while I was gone?"A small bolt of discomfort shot through my chest, but I kept my composure perfectly. "It's probably just the aftermath of that long investor meeting," I lied smoothly, leaning back in my chair and gesturing toward the scattered files on the desk. "A dozen stressful Alphas locked in one space tends to leave a foul scent behind. Don't worry about it."Shantel seemed to accept the answer, her expression softening as she stepped around th

Aaron’s POVI stood at the head of the polished glass conference table, watching the top investors gather their tablets and leather folders as they filed out of the room. The meeting had been a massive success. For months, these same men had looked down their noses at me, treating AMS Corps like a sinking ship. But today? Today they were practically bowing at my feet, desperate for a bigger piece of the pie. The vertical spike in our stock value had completely changed the game, and the sweet taste of absolute victory was finally within my reach. As the heavy glass doors clicked shut behind the last investor, Shantel walked into the room from the side entrance. She was holding a thin tablet against her chest, a triumphant, knowing smirk plastered across her face. She walked straight up to me, turning the screen around so I could see the glowing charts. "The final projections just came in from the analytics team, Aaron," she said, her voice full of pride. "Look at this. If we keep goin

Lillian’s POVAlanna caught me at the bottom of the stairs with an expression that told me whatever she needed to say was not small. She stepped directly into my path with both hands raised slightly, the way she did when she needed me to actually stop and not just slow down.“I need five minutes,”

Dorian’s POVChristine pulled back from the screen so abruptly it was almost physical, like someone who had reached for something warm and burned their hand on it at the last second. “No,” she said, and the word came out with a firmness that sat at odds with the exhausted, frightened woman who had

Dorian’s POV“We need to move fast,” Lillian said, already reaching for her bag. “Aaron is not sitting still and every day we spend reacting to what he does next is a day he gets further ahead of us. Dorian’s POVLillian shook her head the moment I looked at her, reading my intention before I had said a word. “Don’t,” she said quietly. “Whatever she came here to say, it isn’t worth the audience.”“I need to hear it directly,” I said, equally quiet. “Stay here if you want. But I’m going in.”Sh
