Kael’s fingers tightened around my old ID badge until the plastic creaked.

“You didn’t just work on the project…” His voice was dangerously low, almost a whisper. “You were one of the fucking architects.”

I froze beneath him, still locked on his knot, my body trembling from the aftershocks of our last round. My mouth went dry.

“I tried to tell you,” I whispered, tears slipping down my temples. “I wasn’t just following orders, Kael. I helped design the resonance protocols. I signed the approvals.”

The bond between us flared with his rage. It burned through my veins like acid. Surface emotion: pure terror. Underneath: crushing guilt that made my chest cave in. Suppressed: the sickening awareness that part of me still craved his punishment. Core wound: I deserved whatever came next.

Kael pulled out of me slowly, deliberately, leaving me empty and leaking. He stood up, towering over the bed, every muscle rigid. For a second I thought he might strike me.

Instead, he dragged me up by the wrist and pulled me against his chest.

“The pack needs proof,” he said, voice rough. “They need to see that the bond is real. They need to see you submit completely. Tonight. In the ritual circle.”

My stomach dropped. “Public?”

“Public.” His hand cupped my jaw, forcing me to meet his burning amber eyes. “No more hiding, Elara. No more secrets. You’re going to let me claim you in front of everyone while your power stabilizes the fractures. And you’re going to thank me for it.”

I wanted to argue. I wanted to run. But the bond pulsed with his desperation his pack was fracturing faster than he’d admitted. And deep down, a terrible part of me knew I owed this.

“Yes, Alpha,” I breathed, the words tasting like surrender and sin.

The ritual circle was a wide cavern deep in the den, lit by torches and glowing resonance crystals. Dozens of Echoes had gathered  men and women watching with hungry, hopeful, and suspicious eyes. Rafe stood at the front, still recovering, his gaze full of gratitude mixed with lust.

Kael led me into the center wearing nothing but the oversized shirt. He ripped it off me in one motion, leaving me completely naked under the flickering light. Gasps and low growls rippled through the crowd.

“On your knees,” he commanded.

My face burned as I dropped to the cold stone. The pack’s eyes devoured every inch of my hard nipples, the slick shine on my thighs, the way I trembled.

Kael stood before me, stroking his massive cock slowly. “Tell them who you are.”

“I’m… Dr. Elara Voss,” I said, voice shaking. “The Resonator. The one who helped break the world.”

“And who do you belong to?” He gripped my hair, guiding my mouth toward him.

“You,” I whispered. “I belong to you, Alpha.”

“Good girl.”

He pushed into my mouth without warning, thick and heavy on my tongue. I choked, tears streaming, but I sucked him eagerly, desperate to prove something even I didn’t fully understand. The pack murmured approval as Kael fucked my throat with deep, controlled strokes.

“That’s it,” he groaned. “Show them how beautifully you choke on your Alpha’s cock.”

The humiliation was overwhelming. Yet my pussy throbbed, dripping down my thighs for everyone to see. The bond fed me Kael’s pleasure, his pride, his dark need to own me completely.

After several minutes he pulled out, breathing hard, and lifted me onto the wide stone altar in the center of the circle. He spread my legs wide, exposing me fully to the watching pack.

“Look at her,” he told them, voice ringing with authority. “This is our salvation. And tonight, I claim her completely.”

He climbed over me, lined up, and thrust in hard. I screamed in pleasure and pain as he buried himself to the hilt. The pack’s growls grew louder.

Kael fucked me with powerful, punishing strokes, his knot already beginning to swell. Every thrust slammed against that perfect spot, making my moans echo off the cavern walls.

“Tell them,” he growled, pounding into me. “Tell them who’s making you feel this good.”

“You are!” I cried out, legs wrapping around him. “Only you, Kael oh fuck”

My back arched as the first orgasm hit me. The resonance wave burst outward, washing over the pack. Several Echoes gasped in relief as their unstable bonds steadied.

But Kael didn’t stop. He kept fucking me through it, harder, deeper, his knot stretching me wider with every stroke.

Then the memory slammed into me like a freight train.

White lab. Bright lights. Kael younger, strapped down, veins bulging as he thrashed in agony. I stood on the other side of the glass, speaking into the intercom with clinical detachment:

“Subject 47’s pain tolerance is exceptional. Push the pheromone concentration to maximum. Record the sexual response cycle.”

In the memory, I watched myself smile slightly when his body responded against his will  hard, leaking, desperate.

Back in the present, I screamed as another violent orgasm tore through me. My power spiraled wildly.

“Kael— I’m sorry— I watched— I made you—”

His eyes widened as the full memory flooded the bond. For a split second, raw pain flashed across his face. Then it turned into something darker. Hungrier.

“You’re going to come again,” he snarled, knotting me fully in one brutal thrust. “Right now. While they watch what you did to me.”

My body obeyed instantly. I came so hard I saw stars, squirting around his knot as the pack roared in approval. The resonance wave was massive this time, stabilizing dozens at once.

Kael roared as he came, flooding me with heat while his knot locked us together.

For one breathless moment, everything felt almost perfect.

Then the cavern doors exploded inward.

Varen stormed in with twenty armed Echoes behind him, silver eyes glowing with triumph.

“Enough of this circus!” Varen bellowed. “The Resonator belongs to the strongest Alpha. I challenge you, Kael  here and now. The winner takes the girl.”

Kael’s knot was still locked deep inside me. I couldn’t move. My power was spiraling out of control, cracking the crystals around the circle as unstable resonance waves lashed wildly.

Varen smirked, cracking his neck. “Looks like I picked the perfect time. She’s already dripping and ready for a real Alpha.”

Kael’s roar shook the cavern as he tried to pull free, but the knot held us trapped together while Varen and his men advanced.

The radio message cut off, leaving only heavy silence in the den.My heart hammered against my ribs. Twenty-four hours. That was all the time we had before the corporations came to burn everything down. I was still knotted to Kael, our bodies locked together, but the warmth of the bond felt suddenly fragile.“They won’t stop,” I whispered, voice shaking. “Not until they have me back in a lab.”Kael’s arms tightened around me, his knot pulsing deep inside. “They’ll have to kill me first.” His voice was rough, dangerous. He rolled us so I was beneath him again, amber eyes burning into mine. “Look at me, Elara. You’re not going back to them.”I nodded, but fear still clawed at my throat. Surface emotion: terror of being taken. Underneath: crushing guilt that I was putting everyone in danger. Suppressed: the growing need to stay with him. Core wound: believing I deserved to be dragged back and punished. He started moving again, slow and deep, like he needed to remind both of us that I bel

Jax’s words still echoed in the den long after he left.Kael’s knot had finally released, but he didn’t let me go. He kept me pressed against his chest, breathing hard, his hand stroking down my spine like he was trying to calm both of us.“He’s not the only one,” I whispered against his skin. “You heard Lena. Some of them are scared enough to turn on you… on us.”Kael’s jaw clenched. “I built this pack from nothing. I kept them alive when the world fell apart. If they want to sell you for a chance at safety, they’ll have to go through me first.”I pulled back enough to look at him. His amber eyes were glowing faintly, the bond pulsing with a mix of fury and exhaustion. Surface emotion: pure rage. Underneath: deep fear of losing control. Suppressed: the growing attachment he didn’t want to admit. Core wound: another pack crumbling because of me.“Let me talk to them,” I said quietly. “Maybe if they hear it from me”“No.” His voice was firm. He tilted my chin up. “You are not their ene

Lena’s words hung in the air like smoke after a fire.Kael’s body went rigid behind me, his knot still locked deep inside as he held me protectively against his chest. I felt the surge of his anger through the bond hot and sharp mixed with something colder. Fear for his people. For me.“Double the bounty?” he repeated, voice dangerously low. “Who the fuck is talking?”Lena shifted uncomfortably in the doorway, her eyes flicking to me for a second before returning to her Alpha. “A few of the newer ones. They’re scared, Kael. The broadcast shook them. Varen’s offering safety and power. Some think handing her over might be the only way to survive what’s coming.”I swallowed hard, my face pressed against Kael’s shoulder. The shame I thought I had started to control came rushing back. I was still a liability. Still the scientist who ruined their lives.“Close the door,” Kael ordered. Lena obeyed quickly and left. The second we were alone again, Kael pulled out of me carefully. The radio message kept repeating in my head long after the static died. One million credits. Dead or alive. Kael’s arms were still wrapped around me like steel bands, but I could feel the shift in the air. The bond thrummed with his barely contained fury and something heavier worry. I pulled back slightly, searching his face. “They know my name. They know exactly who I am.” His jaw tightened. “The corporations never stopped hunting their lost weapons.” He brushed a strand of hair from my sweaty forehead, the gesture surprisingly gentle after everything. “But they won’t touch you.” Before I could respond, someone knocked hard on the den door. “Alpha,” Rafe’s voice came through, tense. “The pack is gathering in the common hall. They heard the broadcast. Some of them… they’re scared. They want answers.” Kael cursed under his breath. He looked at me, eyes dark with conflict. “Stay here.” “No.” I sat up, pulling the sheet around my naked body. “If they’re talking about me, I

Chaos exploded the second Varen issued his challenge. Kael’s roar shook the cavern walls. His knot was still locked deep inside me, thick and pulsing, trapping us together on the stone altar while the entire pack froze in shock. I couldn’t move. Couldn’t close my legs. Couldn’t even breathe without feeling every inch of him stretching me open in front of everyone. “Stay behind me,” Kael snarled, but his voice was strained. The bond between us burned with his rage and raw protective instinct. Varen laughed, stepping closer with his men flanking him. “You’re literally stuck inside her, Kael. How do you plan to fight like that? Pathetic.” I felt Kael’s muscles tense, his arms wrapping tighter around my body as if he could shield me from everything. Pain shot through the bond sharp and physical. Trying to separate now would hurt us both. The resonance had grown too strong too fast. “Get the fuck out of my den,” Kael growled, his voice vibrating through his chest into mine. “She i
