Chapter Three: His Rejection My Ruin

I suppose I never knew this man for who he truly was.

I used to believe that Cassian wanted me as his future Luna but all that was just a lie.

“You thought I would stay loyal to a wolf less trash like you?”His voice was cold like a rock

. My heart hammered against my ribs. His expression was dark, filled with rage.

My own mate despised me!

You said you will only marry me.” My voice cracked, stumbling on my knees, and every word felt like a dagger piercing through my flesh.

His eyes closed on me for a moment before a scowl covered his face.

I never loved you,” he mutters, his voice cold like ice cutting deep into my soul.

I stepped back and stared at him in disbelief.

My eyes widened as I tilted my head to meet his gaze.

A stinging sensation washed through me, and I gasped in shock, and the room went silent at his words.

I couldn't believe those words came from the man to whom I had given my all. The thought of it made my heart clench tighter.

Just like that, everything we had with each other was washed away by the rain like they were nothing.

He assured me but he betrayed me.

Cassian ran his hand through Eliana's Sandy blonde hair, and she happily clung to Cassian's side.

He will never love someone reckless like you. He only sees you as a toy. Eliana grinned,her eyes twinkled with mischief, her words shattered my heart into pieces.

A sly smile appeared on Eliana's face giving me mocking looks my way.

“As Future Luna of the pack, I will be generous. Stay, work by day, and be our little plaything at night. You will enjoy it,” she growled, taunting me.

“I concur, stay with us, Isabella,” Cassian agreed with Eliana, which irritated me, his lips curling into a cruel smile.

As the words left his mouth my chest tightened in pain.

“ We grew up together. You were my love. My life. How dare you betray me ?” I cried out breathless, my eyes blazing.

“Kill her and be done with it,” Mia snarled.

“Kill me?”I let out a cold and sharp smile.

“You really are the most ruthless of all of them,” I replied as she leaned into his arms, placing a kiss before me, his destined mate.

“If he kills me, how much longer till he disposes of you?” I asked, my cold words piercing through her deeply, her face flickering.

My heart sank. Within minutes, the shock was just setting in.

“How dare you? You ungrateful wretch.” Eliana smirked and stepped nearer, pressing her power against me, knocking the air out of my lungs.

I felt my cheeks burn as her eyes bore into mine, which shone with something dangerous, enveloping my body.

Then something shifted.

My eyes turned and a wave of power shook in the room. Her hands turned red like needles delivered in a quick succession on her skin as visible marks were imprinted on her skin.

“Impossible! I am the strongest she-wolf. What trick did you use you filthy thing?” She cried out in pain holding her hands, fleeing out of the room, gritting her teeth in anger.

Silence swept through the room. All eyes turned to me.

“ What did you do ?” he glared at me, his tone was raw with confusion.

What she truly maimed Eliana” Terrified gasps filled the room.

No one could have thought an omega like me could subdue the strongest she-wolf.

Cassian glared, frowning at me.

“ Gather your things and go, vile half breeds,” Amelia snarled, her sharp words biting into me.

‘Leaving this hell is what I wanted anyway,” I mumbled, clearly disgusted at their sight.

“ You owe me a lot more than that. Now return to my family fortune at once,” I yelled at the top of my voice.

They looked at me with hatred, wrenching free from their hold.

“Return my money now “I demanded 

“Without Isabella's inheritance, your family would never be this wealthy nor live in a place like this,” Mia explained.

“ Shut your filthy mouth,” Amelia snickered at Mia, her nose flaring, glaring at us.

“You have no place here. We raised her. She owes us everything, “ she smirked.

“ For ten years you imprisoned me, I will rather wander without a home than now to your disgraceful demands, “ I spat retorting back at her.

I stood frozen, my face White and pale, swallowing the words hard, which felt like a blade slicing through my throat.

“No, this can't be happening.” My jaw dropped in shock as the tears I managed to hold came rushing forth.

“I have been truly blind to have ever loved you,” I spoke with tears rolling down my face.

The confession tasted like metal.

My tears were streaming down and the barriers I had built were slowly melting.

You were just a worthless mate to me” he spoke plainly and bit back a sneer of disdain.

His face was cold and emotionless.

“You will regret this” I could feel my voice breaking.

“Me? Regret No, it's you who is going to regret it, “he snapped.

He chuckled darkly, a sinister glint in his eyes.

It hurt me to the bone marrow but there was nothing I could do.

“See, I'm the Alpha here, and you are just a pathetic little rogue,” he spat at me.

My heart contracted as my hands flew up to my chest like my entire world crumbled right in front of my eyes.

I was utterly dejected feeling hopeless.

“The pain of my rejection is going to destroy you," he snarled at me, his face straight.

“Then go ahead and reject me “I replied, my voice hoarse, my gaze forward as I kept my expression blank.

“Alright if you are so eager to taste your own pain,” he leaned closer with his wrist, raising his palm against mine, his tone cold and merciless.

I was done bearing the humiliation and all I wanted now was to live for myself.

The mate bond appeared shining brightly encircling both of us like a chain.

“ In the name of the Moon goddess, I, Isabella Beau, accept your rejection, Cassian, “ I declared my eyes filled with hatred and disgust 

A sharp pain twisted inside of me but I held firm.

“What? How are you not feeling any pain “

He asked, rolling his eyes in disbelief.

“How can you?”

“Because I'm no ordinary wolf. I will not crumble under your rejection, Cassian, because you have rejected the princess herself,” I announced the words felt like a challenge.

A laugh escaped from his lips.

“Look at you You are dressed in rags. You have no beta, no regal attire and I sense no wolf in you. What kind of princess can you possibly be ?” his words were dripping with sarcasm.

“Her little show is nothing but hot air. If you are really the princess, then prove it,” his mother's mocking voice rode on his words.

“You are still the wolf-less failure you always were. You are just a rogue pretending to be royalty “ he spat.

“Tie her up and drag her through the streets,” he ordered his guards, who came rushing into the room the moment he gave the instruction, with their strong arms refusing to let go of me.

“Is that really necessary ?” His mother asked which made freckles appear on my skin.

“Why not let everyone see who she truly is. She is a disgrace to the pack” he glanced at me.

He chuckled, a low rumble I had never imagined that he was capable of doing.

“Drag her through every single street. Make sure everyone knows what happens to murderers like her,” he commanded his guards, who lowered their heads.
