Lucille's POV
The beautiful ambiance of the reserved section for our anniversary dinner was a sight to behold. Not like I expected anything else. For nine years, Ben has always put in a lot to ensure our anniversary was perfect. He always said it was one of his ways to show how much love he had for me. Today wasn't just our anniversary, but my birthday as well. Every year, I looked forward to it. Sitting across from him at the table made me feel like a child again. His focus was always on me, his hands over mine. Many said after a couple of years, the honeymoon phase would wash off, but every day since our wedding has been the honeymoon phase. “Can we get the bill, please?” Ben said to our waiter who offered him a small smile. Ben turned to me with that handsome smile of his as he rubbed the back of my palm with his thumb. His phone rang on the table, bringing both our attention to it. He turned over his phone and his smile died, staring at it. “Is there a problem?” I asked. He sighed, pulling away as he silenced the call. “Work. You don't have to worry. My focus is only on you tonight.” His words warmed my heart. However, the call came in once again. I saw a vein pop up at the side of his head. “Maybe you should take it. It might be an emergency,” I told him. He looked reluctant, but I assured him, rubbing his palm on the table. “Don't worry. I'm fine over here,” I said. His gaze moved from his phone, still vibrating on the table, to my smiling face. He nodded, grabbed the phone, and stood up. “I'll be back. Here's my card,” he said, handing me his card before leaving. The waiter returned with the bill. “Thank you,” I said, handing over the card. I rubbed my wedding ring as it itched. I was tempted to take it off, but refused to. This was the very thing I cherished more than my law firm. It symbolizes our love and vows. I tried to endure it but it was too much. With no other choice, I pulled it out, heaving a sigh of relief as I placed the ring down at the side. “I'm sorry, ma'am, but the card declined,” the waiter said politely, handing me the card. I stared at the card. This was the card I gave to Ben. It was for our joint account. It had over twenty million the last I checked. Why then would it decline for just a million dollar bill? I took out my debit card and handed it over, but the waiter returned with the same information. “Are you sure there's nothing wrong with the machine?” I asked calmly. “I assure you, ma'am, our machine works perfectly,” the waiter responded. I sighed, taking out my credit card. “Use this then,” I said. With a single swipe, it was done. I relaxed, but I couldn't understand why none of our debit cards worked. “I'm so sorry, my love. It was an emergency, but I got it sorted,” Ben said, taking a seat. He looked disheveled, but I didn't think much about it. “Ben, I tried using our debit cards, but they all didn't go through. Why?” I said. Ben smiled nervously. “I should have told you. I borrowed a little money for an important investment,” he said. “And you needed forty-five million?” I asked, shocked. “Baby,” he took my hand, rubbing it. “It's just forty-five million. You make more than that a month. Plus, you said you'll help me with my investments.” “I didn't think you'll need that much in a go,” I said. “C'mon baby, are you going to be stingy with money now?” “I'm just-” “It's your birthday. It's our anniversary. Don't ruin our date. We'll talk about it later, okay?” I stared at Ben for a moment. This was the first time he had done something like this. He must have his reasons. I should not have acted out. I nodded, apologetic. “I'm sorry. I was just a little worried. You didn't tell me about it,” I said. He pulled away. “Yes, I wanted to surprise you with the profits. You're not mad, right?” I shook my head, giving him a smile. “I can't be,” “Did you get the bill?” he asked, and I nodded. His eyes landed on my bare fingers and then on the ring on the side. I saw the panic in his eyes as he sat up. “Why did you take off your ring?” he asked. “I felt itchy. My finger is so red already,” I raised my finger, showing him the reddish spot around my ring finger. He held it, then reached for the ring with a napkin. “It must be dirty,” he said, wiping down the ring with both hands holding onto the ring. “I actually thought of that, but it has kept on itching for days. I think it even got worse with each clean. Maybe, I should take it to a jeweler,” I said. “No need. I'll handle it, but you'll have to put it on for now,” he said, taking my hand to slide it in. But just a little contact and my finger felt like it was on fire. I pulled my hand away, shaking my head. “Maybe later,” I smiled, softly, rubbing my finger. It almost felt like it would take my finger in seconds. It made me wonder if it would have become worse if I didn't take it off earlier. Ben stood up and stared at me without a word. The look in his eyes made my heart skip a beat. In over ten years of being with him, he has never looked at me that way. “Be-Ben?” I stammered as he walked away. I shot up in my seat, panicked. “Benja...” I paused when he stopped in the middle of the room and spun around. “Benjamin?” I said, taking a step forward. He dropped on one knee, his lips crooked.Lucille’s POV“I love that. Perfect, perfect, perfect,” the wedding planner clapped. “We are ready for the wedding.”I glanced at King who smiled at me. “I must say you two are a beautiful couple and you have been flawless throughout the rehearsal,” she added.“I have to be,” King said, pulling me into him by the waist. “Or I would not hear the end of it.”I slapped his chest playfully. I wanted everything to be perfect. From the lightning to our vows, I didn’t need the official rehearsal day to prepare for it. I was always rehearsing. King saw me and chose to join me but he was horrible. He either smiled too much or instead of looking at my face was staring at my boobs or my lips. Sometimes he even forgot his lines because he was picturing me naked even though there was a ninety percent chance he just saw me naked five minutes ago.Even right now, I was soaking in his cum and there was something about it that made me feel turned on. The thing was, even though he was wild, he still to
Lucille’s POVThe lights came on, flower petals rained with the help of a helicopter. I stared at it in awe, raising my shoulders to protect my ears. There were people gathered all around us forming a small circle.I even spotted Matheew. I spun around to King, trying to understand what was happening when a plane came flying. A few hoops later and the words became clear. I turned to King and found him on one knee.“I know it’s sudden but I’ve loved you for a long time, Lucille. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to care for you like a husband would and I want to have the title of being your husband. So will you do me the honor of accepting me as your husband?”I clasped a hand over my mouth, unable to contain the heat that curled up my cheeks. “Yes.”***“That looks tacky.” Mathew shook his head in disapproval.“Horrible.” Niva said next.I went back in, got helped into another dress and stepped out again. Mathew scrunched his nose and Niva just shook her head. Weddi
Lucille’s POVKing licked his fingers clean of my essence. I stepped back, letting him have a good view of me. “Sit,” I said.He obliged in a second, taking off his shirt and tossing it to the side. “You just lost a good shirt,” I said.“I can always get another. I need nothing holding me back,” he said.My eyes dropped to his bulge and swallowed. There are other places he should not hold back but who was I to judge? He smiled. “You will see me anytime you wish to, Amore,” he said.I slowly shrugged off the jacket, letting it slide off my arms and form a pool around my legs. I stepped away from it and gave a slow three sixty. His eyes were glued to me all the way. When I finally faced him fully, he was on his feet. He held my waist, gaze locked on mine. “Where did you… you’ve had this on all along?” he asked.“Do you not like it?” I asked with a smile. It could barely be called a dress. My nipples were covered by only a thin strap which slid crossways to form a small skirt that barely
Lucille’s POVKing knew my plans. He knew what I planned, yet he didn’t stop me. He played along like always. “Did I pass the test, Amore?” he said, grabbing me by the waist and pulled me into him.“You…” punch “foolish…” punch “piece of shit” punch. He really wasn’t being nice about his hits. “I guess he truly live up to his promise,” I said.“What promise?” King asked.I slid my hand up his chest, hooking my fingers behind his neck. “He said if she falls into his hands again, she would regret it,” I said then glanced at the couple. “He’s making do of that.”I stared at Katherine. Her arms were up trying to protect her face but they were barely doing anything. Every hit reached the mark. She couldn’t fight him. He was her one mistake. He was the one person which she judged wrong and it almost cost her life.He was the perfect gentleman on the outside yet on the inside he was rotten to his core. His wife was no different. Every day she endured beatings. She ended up in the ER. I paid
King’s POV“Boss.” Gary rushed over and whispered. “She’s in.”“And she let her?” I asked.I couldn’t get an answer before the room turned silent. A shift in the atmosphere. The room gave way for the lady with a mask. She walked like she owned the place and the ladies who gathered around me seemed to dissipate. She walked with confidence, her hips swayed back and forth with every moment, eyes locked on like I was prey. Her confidence far exudes her. No matter how much make up or masks she puts on, I could recognize her a mile away. When she steps close, her perfume was close to throwing me off my feet and not in a good way.One that would end up taking her life. I sent her a glare. A warning. One that she should take seriously and not play dumb with her life but she did not. Instead, she took it as an invitation. She was always crazy but it seemed she became worse after her bad breakup.Katherine had no life now. With a sex scandal and an additional one brought in by Benjamin’s offici
Lucille’s POVFriday night…Summer…And a room filled with naked women dancing all around. I stood at the balcony, overseeing the room below. King sat at the centre of attention, a smoke on one hand and vodka on the other. He had on that face of his that sent almost every lady running ten feet away, yet a few still dared come close. Trying and touching my prize. I sent a text. Me: Not having fun?He placed his drink down, taking out his phone. The side of his lips curved up as he typed away. My phone vibrated a second later. King: Is this a test?Me: What do you think?King: Whatever it is, I cannot enjoy it if you’re not here.I was about to send a response when something caught my attention. A lady ran a hand through his chest. “Boss, would you like to have some fun?”She bent over secductively, trying to show off her bossoms. Me: You sure gain attention anywhere you go.He was about to read it when the lady called out to him again. I unfortunately did not get what she said but it s
Lucille's POV “Want some tea?” Pamela asked.“Your best?” I flashed her a smile.“Certainly,” she said. “Make yourself at home.” she said, heading for the kitchen. This gave me time to look around. The living room was small with an open kitchen, with a homely smell. It drew me in, made me remember
Lucille’s POVI should have known. The guards gestured towards the bank of the sea. Josephine stood there, her hands behind her back. She was dressed in a blue cover-up beach dress. The wind blew to the side, revealing her well tone legs. Josephine was past her prime in age but she looked nothing l
Lucille’s POVI grabbed the blinking wristwatch, shaking. I had given Harvey this wristwatch, one so he could contact me if there was trouble and two to locate him at anytime. But the house had a signal blocking feature I had installed. This blinking meant it was still being tracked. I threw it to
Lucille’s POV“This way,”I nodded with a smile as I trailed behind him. Every corner we turned made me more alert with dozens of guards stationed at each corridor.“Welcome, Miss Lucille,” Josephine said, gesturing for the seat across from her.I took a seat as she continued. “You know I miss Bri
