And then—barefoot, toweling his hair, abs slick with water, stood. Broad-shouldered. Golden-tanned and muscled like a demi-god. The thing swinging between his legs, long and thick and heavy. Our eyes locked. My mouth dropped. My voice cracked. “Brother-in-law?" The Lycan King’s face hardened with recognition. “What the hell are you doing naked in my bed?” ***** After being cheated on by his boyfriend, betrayed by his best friend, and framed by his boyfriend's first love, Lucian thought life couldn’t get any worse as he scrubbed servants’ filthy toilets with a bruised face. Until he was stripped and thrown onto the bed of the homophobic Lycan King, awaiting his death. Elias, the newly crowned Lycan King and Lucian’s brother-in-law, is cold, ruthless, and homophobic. He believes Lucian, who ran away with his so-called "boyfriend," irresponsibly abandoned his sister, blaming him for all the misfortune that followed. This deep-seated hatred has festered within him ever since. ***** If Elias discovers that Lucian is his mate, will he abandon his intention to torment him? On the other hand, will Lucian, who can not communicate with his wolf, realize that his mate is actually his brother-in-law?
View MoreShe was running through the woods laughing at the game she was playing, looking back every so often to see how far behind her sister was, and then she saw The Man. She came to a halt, almost tripping over a tree branch in the process as her hair whipped forward and she stared at him. He was dressed in nothing more than a simple gray t-shirt with blue pants and what appeared to just be regular boots. He seemed like a harmless man, but the way he stared at her made her want to run and hide from him.
He was standing and staying still, breathing heavily, reeking of something that made her gag. “Little girl,” he had slowly said to her.
His own voice startled him and made him gag when he smelled his own breath. The man he had feasted on was drunk, so Thomas hadn’t the need to knock him out after drinking from him. Clearly, the smell of his alcoholism had lingered on Thomas' breath along with the man’s blood as well.
But it only bugged Thomas for a moment as he saw the girl before him, described as her sister had said.
She had long red hair that was starting to turn brown, suggesting auburn hair in the future. Her eyes so wide with fear were starting to dull from a blue to a brown, making them a dull hazel color for now. Her sister had said that she would be six years old, but what Thomas saw was something completely different. He saw her for what she truly was. A warrior ready to defend her family, ready for anything that was thrown at her and ready to defend whatever was necessary. People only saw the six year old girl, the girl that loved playing outside, the girl that was still playing with Barbie dolls at home in her room. But Thomas saw much more than that, he saw past her looks and into the future of what she was to become.
He saw his one and only love.
Finally, the girl seemed to remember what he said to her. She gulped before replying, “Mama doesn’t want me talking to strangers.”
He roared with laughter. “Well,” he said. “My name is Thomas.” His laughter cut short and Thomas smiled mischievously. “I guess we’re not strangers, although I do not yet know your name.”
“Tam-Tammy,” she stuttered. In three long strides Thomas was in front of her. Yes, the plan was working perfectly so far as Tammy’s sister had suggested. Tammy shifted uncomfortably as he sank his nails into her shoulder where he was gripping her currently.
“Can you please let me go,” she asked nervously. She squirmed a little and wished the man would let her go so she could go back to mama for sparklers; it was almost time to light them. Annabeth would come looking for her soon, wouldn’t she?
“What’s the rush, kiddo?” he grinned at her. He could feel her anxiety to get back home. Oh, wouldn’t they be surprised when she was suddenly ill for the next few days? The transformation called for her to be sick as the venom would try to take over, but her body would try to fight it off like any other disease.
“Yes. Can you let me go now so I can return back home and-” Tammy was cut off as he bit down onto her left shoulder instead of on her neck. Tammy cried out in pain, and saw images she didn’t understand. A woman with two different shades of eye color… a big man wearing a suit looking disturbed… two crying infants, and then toddlers chasing each other…
He then laid the six year old on the ground as she whimpered in pain and he breathed in her face a little until she was knocked out cold. He stood up and wiped his mouth as his fangs retracted back into his mouth. “Welcome Tammy, to the Vampire world,” he whispered. He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as her hair started to transform colors more, making it now a visible auburn color. He opened up her eyelids and saw that her eyes had now become a bright hazel color and he smiled to himself; the venom was winning the battle already.
A half hour later, her sister –Annabeth –found Tammy curled up into a ball crying. She immediately went to her knees in front of her sister, “Tammy! Tammy, what happened baby?” She gently pulled her sister's head into her lap and willed her to open her eyes soon. Tammy stirred for a little more, moaning in her sleep before finally opening her eyes and making Annabeth gasp with shock at her eyes.
Her sister licked her lips and asked in a hoarse whisper, “Is the man gone, Annabeth?”
Annabeth shivered; she knew what happened and she was prepared for this moment.
“What man honey? All I see is you,” Annabeth replied. She smelled the air and noticed the blood, and examined it more closely. Already the wound was starting to heal at a rapid pace. Annabeth picked up her sister with ease and said, “Come on baby girl. Let’s get that cut cleaned up, okay? Then we can light some sparklers for you.” Tammy nodded and held out her arms for her sister, and Annabeth picked her up and headed home.
Epilogue "I hear the wedding bells!" Edyrm grinned as he walked in, Vulwin and Beau in tow. "You came really early." I rolled my eyes, standing up to pull them in a hug, "You can't blame me! Who knew running a dark elf Kingdom would be so tasking. Besides, I'll be staying for a week. You're going to get tired of me." Edyrm grinned as he kissed my cheeks."We didn't miss anything yet, did we?" Beau asked, looking around. "No, you're early enough." I answered, waving him off with a smile. Beau practically skipped out in excitement. "Forgive that," Edyrm smiled, "He thinks he would have a shot at love here. So tell me about this wedding of yours, how's it going to be? Walking down the aisle?""A wisteria walkway," I grinned as I moved around the dozens of gifts Elias got me this morning."That's beautiful," Vulwin muttered, I almost didn't hear him. "Thank you," I beamed, "I expect to attend your wedding soon too."Vulwin instantly shifted on his foot.I frowned. He never di
LUCIAN "Where are we going to?" I asked for umpteenth time. The corners of Elias lips lifted, "You'll see it soon."I rolled my eyes and leaned against the window."Don't look so sore. We're almost there." He grinned, and even though I hated it and wanted to wipe the grin off his face, I found myself feeling all warm and fuzzy inside."We're here?" Elias announced abd cane around to open my side of the door."What?" I frowned at him, "we— I finished draining myself on that forbidden spell back at the temple, and you bring me back here?""Yes," his grin grew wider as he urged me forward. "What do you want? For me to break down this barrier?" I gaped at him as I stared at the cabin we'd been prisoners in."No, besides, we can enter and live freely. We are spending the night or weeks here, whichever you want. Yvonne will take care of things back at the palace. Think of this as a getaway for both of us."My lips split with a big smile, "Are you serious?"Elias took my hands and led me
LUCIAN Seraphina's death didn't go as I'd planned, but Elias was right. She'd be back, so it was better to get rid of her once and for all, I guess. The car stopped, and before I removed my seat belt, Elias was at my side of the car, opening the door and stretching a hand.I bit back a smile and took his hand, alighting the car. It's been four days since Seraphina’s death, and as opposed to what I would have expected, Elias didn't ask questions."Thank you Mr...." I started, my eyes gleaming at him with mischief.Elias fixed me a glare, then suddenly leaned in, his breath fanning my neck.I sucked in a sharp breath, surprised at the closeness."I know you remember, Lucy." He whispered and kissed my cheeks.I was turned to a walking shade of red, walking off briskly and blinking repeatedly Elias caught up with me easily and hooked my hand in his arm as we entered the temple. A letter was sent to Elias that the old man was really sick and I had a promise I was yet to keep according
SERAPHINA"Hey!!" Marda snapped at me, "Come over here?"I looked around and pointed at myself, "me?""Yes, you." She snapped, wriggling her fingers fast."Hurry up, will you?"I internally rolled my eyes and went over to her."I'm proud of you?" She smiled, showing all her teeth.I narrowed my eyes at her, What's she on now?"You've made quite an impression on the Luna. I would no longer have to supervise you. This is a rare opportunity and make sure not to fuck it up.""What are you talking about?" I questioned. "You've been promoted. You'll wait on the Luna and Lycan King this evening for dinner, and you'll also prepare the food. I'll have another maid bring the list of His Highness allergies to you. I'll be counting on you." She gave me a stern smile and disappeared. My heart sank, wait on both of them? What if Elias recognizes me? How do I get myself out of this impossible situation. Or... I might as well just get this over with as soon as possible. Even if either of them
***Kingdom of Kuragari ***"Are you sure it'll work this time?" The Dark Elf King asked, staring at his subjects."Yes," Elf Aegnor replied firmly. "The first time should have lasted for a long time, I'm still confused on how they were able to make up after that. I mean, if my wife told me she was
LUCIAN Elias had his head resting on the wall, eyes closed, and he was sweating profusely. "Are you okay?" I whispered, staring at chimed worriedly."I'm fine. How long does it take to finish a prayer?""Five hours because she was the Priestess, but we can go. I don't think I want to stay here
LUCIAN I groaned in pain as another wave of pain hit me, along with warmth and a pool forming at the bottom of my stomach.I couldn't push it down again or hide it.This was the first time this was happening to me since I just got my wolf recently. I've read a lot about it to know what it was,
