LOGINLucas's POV
I got out of the office building in a rush. My eyes caught the mirror in front of the car. I was looking messy already. The sound of my phone buzzing couldn't let us finish up. God knows how long I have waited for this day but not be interrupted by something like this. I guess you don't always get what we want. I could imagine the look in her eyes. The disappointment that comes with it. She wanted more, I know, but right now Naomi needed me. I can't just let her down, it would break her so much, and I wasn't ready to do anything that could jeopardize the relationship, not when we just started. It took me time to finally get myself to accept this new relationship. It is something I must do, to protect my image, to protect the legacy I have worked on all my life. Coming to New York was to get everything back on track, but right, as it is, I don't see myself focusing on anything else than Kayla. I wished I could fuck her the way I had imagined, install in her how to properly fear me. There had better be a rematch because it is not the end yet. I managed to shove my thoughts behind, increasing the high speedometer of the car. The more I drove at that level, the car's engine cracked in some sound and, in my ear, it felt like Kayla screaming and begging me to increase my pace. Fuck. It was hard to concentrate without a fling of her in my thoughts. As I approached the arrival gate, I properly arranged my necktie, and straightened my suit. I sighted Naomi from afar, in the arrival area. She looked so beautiful. Her blue dress fits in properly with her body, showing her curve. I still find it hard to believe how a woman in her late 30s could be this sexy. “Naomi” I called out, waving at her like a little child who had just welcomed her mother after a long time away. It was really nice seeing her again. It's been weeks since I left California for New York. I had to leave her behind so I could settle with things here perfectly before calling her to join me here. “Baby” Naomi's voice filled the air as she ran into my arms. “I have missed you so much” she blew kisses on my face. “I miss you too, baby” I gently caressed her back. We were in that position for a few moments. **************** Naomi and I held hands together while I drove into the city of New York. It was a different feeling having someone who genuinely cares about you by your side. Naomi constantly proved to me that no matter what, they would always love me. She came into my life when things were extremely difficult. My past relationships played a big role in all of those calamities. All thanks to Naomi, she let it known that I wasn't the problem. “How has New York been treating you so far?” Her voice suddenly laced with the thought in my head. “Good so far”, I responded with a warm smile on my face. “It's so nice to share the same air as you”, she smiled in return and continued, “I really cannot wait to see the beautiful place you have found. Also, I told you about my daughter who lives alone in New York, right?” She glanced at me with a questioning brow. “The feisty one who has refused to talk to her mother?” I smiled. Yeah, she is not always like that though. "She is sweet deep in the heart”, she responded in her defense. “I guess she took after you” “Really, you haven't even met her” We stole glances while we smiled and giggled about her daughter. One thing I have learned about Naomi is. She is the family type. She loves her daughter so much. You could tell by the way she talked about herself with so much joy in her eyes. I was just going to focus on my relationship with her. I am not the type to go well with young adults. For more reasons, Zack has been away for some time now. Seeing how much Naomi loves her daughter, I just have to accept it for myself. I should love her daughter just like she adores her. “Guess what, she finally agreed for a family dinner”, she beamed with joy. “Really! That is great news" "Tomorrow will be fine, right? Let's invite her over to the house.” “Okay, I will just text my baby Kayla. I was so filled with joy— “Baby Kayla?” I glanced at her, my hand still moving on the car steering. “Kayla, what is her name?” I asked again. “Hmm, hmm” she murmured, nodding her head, her eyes buried on the phone. “Kayla”, the name rang in my head continuously, sounding very familiar. It can't be the Kayla I know, right ? No, I would know if she was Naomi's daughter. There are so many Kaylas, and she can just be one out of a multitude of them. “Is everything alright?” Naomi interrupted into my lost thoughts. “No. "I'm okay ", I responded, pushing my thoughts away and focusing on what was important. Naomi. ****************** The aroma coming from the kitchen direction was something that made me gulp down my throat like I had something kept in it. I assisted her with arranging the table with the different varieties of food. She indeed outdoes me when I watched her prepare all her daughter's favorite meals. “I would like her to have a taste of all of them. "I can't wait to watch her eat”, that was her response. A few moments, we were done. I got in the bathroom, took a shower and got into my best ever suit. I was going to make a good impression on my new stepdaughter. We were both seated, waiting when we heard the sound of the bell. “Let me go get the door,” Naomi said. I heard her in the hand, a little smile across my lips. “We should welcome her together,” I stated. “Thank you, Damien” We both tugged our arms at one another and walked to the door. “You are welcome to- my lips curled, the smile suddenly disappeared. Our eyes opened in shock as they met. My thoughts were confirmed. Kayla is my secretary, my new stepdaughter and the one who I shoved my cock deep inside her throat!KAYLA POVThe buildup of Thorne-Brooks legacy legally was a tough one. But for the first time, it felt like an avenue of protecting people instead of destroying them. The boardroom of Naomi Brooks institute for regenerative health was turned into a war zone for three days. Clara who has the backings of several legal auditors brought out a pile of international asset registries and Julius’ offshore accounts remnants they got the wipe.Lucas sat the presiding head of that table as his dominant aura filled the room. He didn’t hold the title of the CEO of Thorne Global but he still maintain his ruthless energy when it comes to corporate laws which he is aware of. “I want to remind you that if we execute this structure, then it will be permanent,” Clara said as she was holding a massive red document. “If you agree to this, then the Thorne family has no business with the equality generated in the regenerative science now and the future to come. They’ll be stripped off leading everything to
KAYLA POVAfter seeing that message, we knew Naomi, my mother has something to do with it. Lucas didn’t take any chances as he put Julius in a tight position. Julius on his part couldn’t make a move since he knew that his chance of monopolizing the future is gone. “You’ll pay for making me lose my investment,” Julius shouted but his voice was consumed by silent sobs where his voice betrayed him. “You can sense within you that you just made an empty threat,” Lucas responded with dominance in his tone. “By the way, we might or might not cross path again, Julius.” Lucas forcefully gain access to the elevator we exited the mainframe room and penthouse in general. We booked a flight back to New York to unravel the message sent to that screen. The flight was a calm one as it felt like walking on a cloud of tranquility. The data wipe affected the global market and spread shockwaves in the financial markets. KAYLA POVWhen that alarm blared, I knew something has gone wrong. The decision yet to be made was another pressing issue. Julius slammed his fist on the mahogany tree near him as his face was red with untold fury. The whole penthouse was thrown into corporate chaos and panic as I discovered the system has strike a warning measured in hours. Hus team of technical directors were not left out as I roamed the room trying to flood the comms channels. “What do you mean that the system is collapsing?” Julius yelled as the room couldn’t recover from the panic mode. “As you said earlier, Zack had a brilliant mind,” I said as my voice was visible and clear despite the noise of the sirens. “He didn’t just set a timer but it was a trap. Your team tried to access the server through an external network, that’s where they triggered a neural latency cascade. The mainframe is protecting its backup data from the core.”Lucas’ anger probably reached peak as he didn’t wait for Julius to recover himsel
KAYLA POVI was happy that I accepted the urgent request to visit my mom. Through that visit, we were able to get a vital information which happens to be that code. Lucas was in his usual mood as he was just neutral after Naomi left for her cell. We didn’t waste time as we completed the necessary documentations before leaving the New York correctional center. We had a mission which is travelling to Geneva to stop an impending monopoly. A flight to Geneva was already booked by Lucas for both of us. With his connections, we arrived at the airport unnoticed by the people of New York. The plane took off and landed in Geneva where we operate in stealth mode under the influence of fake corporate identities. The remnants of Lucas’ old shell accounts was our leverage to secure a private vehicle while keeping a low profile. The air in Geneva felt sterile bur the smell of snow didn’t escape my nasal interpretation. The black SUV which was used moved peacefully as it passed the headquarters of
KAYLA POVAfter my decision at the cottage, Lucas accepted it and we made our way to New York correctional center. After passing the necessary verifications, we were accompanied by an officer to the visitor’s block. The air there was suffocating and thick with disinfectant, stale sweat and despair hanging in the air. Talking about the despair, it was heavy because different souls are brought guilty or innocent. This was a clear contrast to the calm peace I experienced at the cottage for several weeks now. I was led to a chair facing the thick glass separating the visiting room for both visitors and prisoners. I sat there keeping my hand on the cold metal counter while Lucas stood behind me with his dominant presence. He wasn’t with tailored suit but the simple clothing he put on still commands the room. The guards there stood their distance because they all remember the tales of the once feared CEO in New York. The iron door at the prisoners’ visiting room slowly opened to reveal th
KAYLA POVThe silence around the cottage was not forced but it flowed with the natural rhythm of nature. The silence was golden as we needed it after enduring months and years of noise that had the potential to crack eardrums. It’s been several weeks as we have adapt to the life of an ordinary individual. Day in, day out, the sun from the riverine horizon played a major part in our lives. This way, we tried to forget the past as we forge the present in this cottage. Lucas was slowly adapting to a life that was different from the one he took as a lifestyle. He had a good grip on the machete as he can survey the dense bush away from the cottage. Anytime he comes back from such expedition, his raw masculine energy stood at its peak. It was different from the ruthless personality that defined his life for twent years. I felt love returning to the settings as being aligned with nature. The final edit which was found in the house and what we found in the bridge are all gone into the dark
