LOGINARIANA'S POV
I headed to my next class. The class was already filled up but luckily, Maya had reserved a seat for me. “Thank you.” I threw her a soft smile and took my seat. She placed her two hands on her jaw and leaned against the table. “So…” She began, narrowing her gaze slightly. “Why did he call you to his office?” My chest tightened. He had called me to his office just to draw a line between us. Whatever happened last night was never supposed to happen again. Obviously, I couldn't tell Maya that, so I came up with a lie. “He needed the class list.” I said, without thinking. Maya smirked. “Nice try.” She rolled a strand of hair between her fingers before tilting her head.“You're not the class representative, Ria. So why would he ask you for the class list?” I gulped. Damn. I was really terrible at lying. She leaned closer, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. “I still have that strong feeling that you two know each other.” She paused, as she suddenly raised her brows like she just recalled something. “Wait… he even called your full name. How…how did he know your name?” That was a question I still didn't have an answer to. How the hell did he know my name? He was new. He had only just introduced himself to the class, yet by the end of the lecture, he knew exactly who I was. Unless… My stomach dropped. Had he checked my details after last night? “I don't know…” I told Maya as she sighed, leaned back in her seat, and folded her arms. It didn't take up to two seconds, she leaned in again. Typical Maya. “So what happened in his office?” She asked, eyeing me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. “Nothing happened. I just gave him the class list. That's all.” I shrugged, pulling out my books from my bag. Maya looked ready to argue, but the moment the professor walked in, she stopped. “Tear out a sheet of paper,” he announced as he entered the class. “We’re having a test.” Every single student in the hall groaned. Maya's face fell. “What the hell… this is impromptu.” I just sighed. Fuck school. At last, the stupid test was over as the lunch bell rang. We packed up our bags and headed to the cafeteria. “I don't believe the ‘class list’ excuse… but I'll let it slide until you are ready to tell me the truth.” Maya said as we joined the loud hallway, heading to the cafeteria. I rolled my eyes. “Just believe me.” I hadn’t even told Maya what Scott had done and said to me last night. And now I was supposed to explain how I went to a club alone, got way too drunk, mistook Professor Thiago for a wall, and ended up cumming on his laps. With how dramatic Maya was, she would probably scream the entire place down if she heard half of it. That was exactly why I couldn’t tell her here… not in public. We finally got to the cafeteria. She went to get our meals while I found an empty table. I sat and pulled out my phone. I checked through my texts and mails. None from Scott. I sighed, his hurtful words ringing in my ears again. I deserved an explanation. I didn't deserve to be betrayed that way. I thought I was enough for him. I thought he loved me. I thought— Someone passed by my table causing my thoughts to stop. It should have been normal, the cafeteria was crowded, people were walking around but my nose caught a familiar scent. I looked up sharply. My breath caught when my gaze landed on him… Scott. He was seated at a table not too far from mine, facing my direction. And he wasn’t alone. Tania sat close to him. Her body pressed into his side as her fingers toyed with the collar of his shirt. Her lips brushed against his jaw, his cheeks, his lips and he let her. No—he wasn’t just letting her. He was kissing her back like he didn't make me believe she was his cousin. My chest tightened painfully. My fingers tightened around my phone as I stared, unable to look away. His gaze met mine and I gulped. He smirked lazily as his gaze slid over me like I was nothing to him. Then, he kissed Tania deeply. My chest tightened. Last night, he had looked me in the eye and told me I was just a toy to him. I still hadn’t recovered from that. And now… this? I blinked back a tear. I dropped my gaze quickly, forcing myself to breathe. Don’t look. Just don’t look. “Ria?” Maya’s voice pulled me out of it. She dropped the tray in front of me and slid into the seat opposite me, blocking my view instantly. She knew, but she looked shocked. She had probably thought this was a normal breakup where we both just ended things, stayed single for a while before moving on. But she was getting it all wrong. “What… what exactly happened between you two?” She asked, her brows raised in confusion. “And isn't that his cousin, Tania?” I sniffled. “She's not his cousin. Scott cheated on me with her.” Maya's eyes widened as she let out a loud gasp. “What the hell! How could he do such a thing!?” She was beginning to raise her voice as a few heads turned to us. I didn’t like the attention. I shifted slightly to the side and stole a quick glance at Scott. They were openly making out now. Tania sat on his lap, straddling him as they kissed. His hands were under her shirt, obviously squeezing her boobs. My chest ached so hard that I suddenly realised I couldn't stay here any longer. “Maya… let's leave.” I muttered, already grabbing my stuff. Her face softened slightly for a second. “Sure, but–” Her face twisted into an unfriendly scowl. “Let me give that ugly dog a piece of my fucking mind.” She breathed, jaws clenched. My eyes widened. “No, no… Maya, don't.” I tried to stop her but she was already walking towards Scott’s table. My hands began trembling as I watched her approach them. They were too carried away with the disgusting shit they were doing to even notice Maya. Before any one could react, Maya shoved Tania off his laps. Tania stumbled, almost falling to the ground as a loud yelp escaped her lips. All heads turned towards the scene. I mouthpalmed, shaking my head. “Maya… it's okay. Let's go, I'm fine.” My words fell on deaf ears because Maya wasn't even listening. “Bitch… are you nuts?” Tania yelled crazily, chest heaving. Scott’s angry eyes met Maya's and she smirked. “I came here to speak to you… not your whore.” Maya muttered, staring at Tania with disgust. “What the… are you calling me a whore?” Tania asked, pointing at her chest as she made to hit Maya. “Don't even try it.” Maya quickly warned with a stern look. Slowly, Tania's hands dropped down. “Good.” Maya smiled and turned back to Scott who was practically boiling with rage. “Now… listen to me, you stupid ugly dog.” Oh my God. Maya!!! She continued. “You should know you are a total jerk. A stupid one at that. How dare you cheat on my best friend with this… thing you call your cousin? You really have no shame and I'm utterly disgusted by you. I never even liked you in the first place, ugly dog.” She ranted, voice shaking with rage. I walked closer to her and pulled her arm slightly. “Maya… that's enough, let's go.” I begged but she just stood there glaring so hard at Scott. Then, to my surprise, Scott bursted into a sick laughter. A laughter laced with mockery. My breath caught as my hands tightened around her arm. Soon, he stopped laughing and slowly rose to his feet. The smirk on his face made my stomach twist. "You're still crying over this?" he asked, shaking his head in pity. Scott ignored Maya completely as his eyes stayed on me. "I told you the truth, Ariana." His voice sounded bored."What exactly do you want from me? An apology?" My chest tightened. He scoffed. "You built an entire future of us in your head because I was nice to you." His words hit me like a slap. "Aww," Tania said sweetly beside him, looping an arm around his waist. "She's still obsessed." A few students exchanged uncomfortable looks while some visibly looked like they were enjoying the scene. Only a few students continued eating their meals like nothing was happening. Scott shrugged. "I didn't cheat on you, Ariana. You can't cheat on someone you were never serious about." Hot tears burned in my eyes. "Shut the fuck up!" Maya snapped but he wasn't done. "You know what's funny?" he continued. "Even after catching me with Tania, you still looked like you wanted me to choose you." Tania laughed, rubbing her hands against his chest. "I was never going to choose you." He spat, staring at me like I was disgusting. I looked away, as my vision slowly blurred with tears. Maya took a furious step forward. "You piece of—" I quickly grabbed her arm. "Maya." "No!" she yelled. "Let me go!" "Maya!!!” She looked at me and froze. The tears in my eyes must have said everything because her expression immediately changed. I forced myself to straighten my shoulders. I wasn't going to cry in front of him. Not again. "Let's go." Maya looked like she wanted to commit murder. Scott merely rolled his eyes and sat back down. I pulled Maya away before she could say another word. Halfway across the cafeteria, she twisted around and pointed at him. "Screw you, ugly dog!" Several students burst into laughter. Scott's smirk disappeared, and Maya looked extremely pleased with herself. I should have felt satisfied but all I could hear were Scott's words. “I was never going to choose you.” My chest tightened painfully as I looked away. "Let's just go, Maya.”THIAGO'S POVI wasn't supposed to be anywhere near the professor's lounge right now.The professor's meeting had already started at the event hall and, if I was being honest, I would've preferred being anywhere else entirely.Unfortunately, I had left my charger sitting on my desk after my morning lecture and my phone battery had chosen today of all days to be really low.So while everyone else sat inside the hall discussing schedules and departmental reports, I found myself walking back toward the building I'd left almost twenty minutes earlier.I wasn't exactly in a hurry. As I walked, I recalled who else I'd seen in this building earlier that afternoon.Ariana Castillo.Last night had been complicated. She had somehow managed to turn my entire evening upside down.I'd watched her cry in my living room. I'd watched her fall asleep wearing my shirt. Then this morning, I'd watched her sneak out of my apartment like she was escaping a crime scene. The corner of my mouth twitched despit
ARIANA'S POVI should've texted Maya. I should've told her where I was going. I should've listened to that stupid little voice in my head that had been screaming at me to turn around and walk away.Instead, I was here alone with him.I swallowed hard. "What do you want, sir?” I asked carefully.A dark smirk curled on his lips as his gaze trailed to my cleavage, then down to my thighs "You know what I want, Ms. Castillo."Revulsion crawled beneath my skin.I jerked my hands free. "I'm sorry, sir, but I don't know what you mean." I said politely as I began moving toward the door. This time, he grabbed my hair roughly, pulling me back hard enough for a sharp yelp to leave my lips."Prof—"The rest of the word disappeared against his palm.Panic exploded inside my chest. I twisted and struggled against him, but his grip refused to loosen."Now..." he murmured near my ear. "Don't make this difficult.""Hmm... let me go." I managed, though the words came out muffled."Even if you scream, no
ARIANA'S POVOhhh… shit. No way.It can't fucking be. But I checked well… he wasn't there any longer.Fuck.I should have checked again.Oh my God.Why did this have to happen to me? I squeezed my eyes shut as I inhaled deeply.Slowly, I turned around. My eyes met with grey ones.Hold on… not blue? The tightness in my chest instantly loosened. It wasn't Professor Thiago. It was Professor Reynolds from Statistics.Relief hit me so hard I almost burst into tears right there."Professor." I smiled weakly. His brows pulled together slightly. "Are you alright?"“Yes.” I forced out, even though my heart was still trying to recover from the five seconds of absolute terror I'd just experienced. For one horrifying moment, I'd been completely convinced it was him.Professor Thiago. If it had actually been him standing there?Oh God.I would've simply evaporated, turned into dust or vanished from the face of the earth.I would've prayed for the floor to open up and swallow me whole. I would've
ARIANA'S POVTania stood near the doorway with her arms crossed.Great.Just when I thought I could have a moment of peace in the restroom, she had to ruin it.I turned back toward the sink. "I'm not in the mood, Tania.""Neither was I when you started dating my boyfriend."My hand froze.Slowly, I looked at her through the mirror. "What?"She laughed quietly. "You didn't know?"I said nothing. Her heels clicked softly against the floor as she stepped closer. "I knew Scott first." She shrugged. "Long before you showed up.”An uncomfortable feeling stirred in my chest."We dated in high school." She continued casually. "We broke up because we were young, and then college happened."I stared at her, chest tightening."He always came back eventually." She smiled slightly. "I guess some people are just temporary distractions."My fingers tightened around the edge of the sink.Temporary distraction. The words lodged themselves deep inside my chest.Scott had never mentioned her as his ex
ARIANA'S POVI shot to my feet so fast I nearly tripped over my own legs. "Keep your voice down!" I hissed, looking nervously toward the wall separating our apartment from his.Maya stared at me, then she stared at the wall. She slowly turned back to me, then back to the wall. Then back to me again. "No."I blinked. "What?""No, no, no, no, no." She shook her head rapidly as she stood up from the bed and started pacing across my room. "Absolutely not. I reject this information.""Maya—""No!" She pointed at me accusingly. "Do you understand what you've just told me?""Unfortunately yes.""You met a stranger in a club.""Yes.""You sat on his lap.""Accidentally.""You got drunk.""Yes..""You climbed onto him."I buried my face in my hands. "We don't have to keep saying that part.""You begged him to touch you.""Oh my God… Maya!!!""You wore his shirt.""Please stop.""You slept in his apartment.""We are using the word ‘slept’ very loosely here.""And now you're telling me that this
ARIANA'S POVI chuckled nervously, and glanced down at the shirt. “Ohh…. this.” I muttered, rubbing the back of my neck. “I just found it in my laundry basket.” I lied, avoiding her eyes. That lie was ridiculous.Maya just stared at me, clearly unconvinced. “Found it in your laundry basket?” Her brows furrowed. “Really Ria? That's the best lie you could come up with?” She shook her head in disappointment.I really needed to learn how to lie.“I'm not lying.” I lied again. She scoffed, and rolled her eyes. “That's obviously a man's shirt. It’s literally too big on you. Wait…” She paused, narrowing her gaze. “Don't tell me it's Scott’s?” I almost scoffed.Wear Scott shirt after all he did and said to me? No way! If I ever saw his cloth here, I was going to burn it. I don't care how much it costs.“It's not.” I looked away.“So whose is it?” Maya pressed on.I bit down on my lips. How do I explain everything to her? Seems I'll have to start from anywhere because I'm sure Maya won't l
