Samantha's pov.

This is it, finally I am going to play, I was already having the jitters.

Adrian didn't spare me a glance when he entered the rink.

Maybe he's still pissed that I wore his vest.

It was time to go onto the rink and I tightened the hockey stick like my life depended on it.

“Donovan!” The coach yelled from the sideline.

I skated over to him smoothly.

Whew, I still knew how to use these, Impressive.

“Yes coach.” I breathed in excitement when I got to his side.

“You'd have to sit out the training for most of this season.”

The joy in my heart fell to the pit of my stomach.

“What, why?”

The coach's eyes clouded

“What do you mean by why? Do I need to replay the video of how you embarrassed the team during the last game?”

Spittles from his mouth stung my face.

I get why he doesn't want me to play, but it's not enough.

“Please coach, I promise to give my best shot. I've become better.”

“No means no, Donovan, the only reason you are still on this team is because of who your father is.”

My grip on the hockey stick intensified.

I wanted to break it in half so badly.

“Please coach, just this last time, if I don't get better before the next game. I'll drop out of the team myself.”

The coach's eyes wandered far in thought, I knew he was contemplating my offer.

“Okay, this time you tell your father you quit yourself and never return to the team.”

I gave him my hand to seal the deal

“You've got it coach.”

One stone cold gaze was all iti took for me to drop my hand to the side.

Practice started and I could not even land a strike on the puck.

“Slam!”

“Bam!”

“Thunk!”

I was already on the ground, back flattened to the ground.

My breath came out in heaven as I tried to catch it.

These guys weren't joking, I can't even catch up to speed.

“Donovan, get your ass up”

The coach shouted.

Hockey has become more tough than I imagined.

Okay, one more try.

I struggled to my feet to make a balance.

“Swipe!”

I came crashing down again, hard.

“Fuck.” I groaned

My breath got knocked out sharp

I tasted blood in my mouth, my body hurts like hell.

It's like they were all attacking me, and I don't have the stamina to withstand it

A figure appeared overheard and peered into my face.

“You good?”

My response was a painful groan.

It was Zeke, I took his hands to stand up.

“You look beat, are you sure you can continue practicing?” He asked.

I was brimming from the insides, I definitely have lost touch.

This was just outright bullying.

“Why do they keep coming for me?” I panted.

Zeke tilted his head to the side.

“Come on Samuel, are you really asking that? Like you don't know Adrian.”

That was some childish foul play, and the coach let them.

“You've got a bruise under your eye.”

“Not just that, I think I cracked a rib.”

“Then you need to see the nurse.”

I don't need anyone to check on me. I'll get exposed.

“Yeah, thank you, I'll go do that.”

“Zeke, come on!” Adrian shouted.

With every breath I drew in, my sides hurt like hell.

“I'll be fine, thank you.”

Zeke stared at me blankly, shrugged, then skated off.

I managed to move slowly out of the rink.

The coach was still standing there, arms crossed.

“Are you sure about staying till the beginning of the new tournament?”

The blood taste in my mouth was still there,

“Damn right I am.”

I wobbled back to the dorm to check myself.

Every single thought about Adrian Volkov made my blood boil.

How can someone so talented be so mean and evil?

I locked the door from the inside and took off the vest.

The black mark along my ribs looked really ugly.

If this goes on, I'll end up in a wheelchair.

Some bruise cream would help.

Crazy shits like this were bound to go down.

Was this how they treated Sam every time at practice?

Sam must have suffered a whole lot and bottled it up.

Luckily for me, mom packed me a lot of stuff I didn't imagine I'll ever use.

Including some bruise cream.

As I rubbed the substance against my skin.

My phone buzzed.

It was a call from Samuel, a soft smile etched in my lips.

“Hey, Sam, how are you doing?”

His voice filled my heart with warmth.

“It's been great, just that you left the part about Adrian Volkov being your roommate.”

“Geez, I'm sorry about that, just stick to the rules and you'd be fine.”

“The stupid rules, there's no way I'm doing that.”

A short pause followed, I could hear his soft breathing through the phone.

“Please, Sammy, it's for your own good.”

Samuel worries a lot. It won't be good to put him through turmoil.

“Fine, I heard you, I'll stick to the rules.”

Heaven knows there's no way I'd do that, I just said it for his comfort.

“Yeah, before I forget, apparently, there are two Volkovs in the school.”

“Ohh, you mean Zeke? He's Adrian's cousin.”

“Hmm, so he said. But how is he? He was a bit nice to me.”

“Zeke's cool, unlike the other teammates, he's just very reserved.”

Ohhh, I get that now.

The rapt banging on the door caught my attention, I quickly put on some clothes.

“I'll call you later, bye, love you.”

I rushed to open the door and Adrian waltzed in holding the blonde from yesterday.

“Excuse me, you can't just bring a girl in here. Girls aren't allowed in the boys dorm.”

“Check rule 4, Donovan.”

Yeah, I know what his fourth rule states, but I'll be damned if I allow him to treat me like Samuel.

They were already on his bed, his hands massaged her ass.

I wasn't going to let him win this time.

I strode over to my bed. Sat on it with crossed arms.

“I am not going anywhere.”

From the corner of his eyes, he looked at me.

“Good, you are welcome to watch us.”

Sharon's POVMy first day of school wasn't so bad. No one really noticed me. They were too busy talking about Samuel.Gosh, I can't get used to calling her by her real name. Samantha's POV.I cried as I noticed that we were a few minutes away from the school building."Mom, I changed my mind. I don't want to go to school.""Don't give me that, Sammy. I already called Principal Caldwell, and he has said we can come to talk."I puffed out my mouth and blew air against the handful of hair that covered my face. I hate the way my hair grows fast. I missed him dearly; he's the only one that brought up discussions about Adrian.Talking about Adrian hurt like hell.
