(Alpha Dax)

Dax inhaled that lovely peony scent. It was romantic, relaxing, and improved his mood. He knew it was that silly omega again. Dax knew she was a mute. He couldn't have a mute for a mate. His wolf, Daniel, urged him to go and find her.

"Let's claim our mate, Dax," Daniel growled at him, stepping forward to shift and find that omega.

"No, way! Wendy is a mute. A mute cannot be my Luna." Dax rejected Daniel's offer. His wolf growled at him.

"She is a mute for a reason. She will bring blessings to us. The pack needs her. The Moon Goddess gifted her to you," Daniel growled back, wrestling with Dax. They were outside in the woods.

Dax knew it was the full moon season, where lovers are united. Mates find their true mates on the full-moon night.

"No, way. Don't speak to me about that mute again. She is cursed, a disgrace to my pack, and I will never pick her. You should let me be," Dax shut his wolf out. His breath ragged. His heart burning, but he refused to claim Wendy Clayton.

Dax knew Wendy had a crush on him. She was so shameless. She watched him training. Rushing to serve him drinking water. At first, he allowed her, because he loved the colour of her hair. Dax didn't understand his feelings. But he knew Wendy was a mute. She couldn't speak. So he warned her to keep off.

Dax snapped out of his past thoughts and went into the woods. He mindlinked Emma Parker. "Meet me in the woods."

Dax prepared to give Wendy a show, to make her know that she was a stain in his pack. That she didn't deserve to be his Luna. She did not deserve to wear the Luna crown.

Dax pulled out a stick of cigarette and lit it, smoking while he watched the full moon appear in the sky, gazing down at him.

"The Moon Goddess is a joke. My Luna cannot be that mute," Dax cursed, smoke curling out of his lips. His eyes darkened as that peony scent hit him hard like a slap.

Daniel surged forward again. "Let's go and claim our mate!" he growled.

"No!" Dax refused firmly. "I'm never claiming a mute."

Just then, Emma's voice resonated in the air.

"Babe! You're here!" She rushed to meet him. She was wearing a short red dress, her thighs exposed. Her breasts on full display.

Dax turned to face Emma.

"Yes, I'm here. I was hoping to find my mate. But I don't have any," he lied through gritted teeth.

Dax saw Emma's brown eyes widen in surprise. "That's why I am here, babe. I know how it feels to not have that goddess-gifted mate. I wish I were your mate." She crossed the distance to meet him.

"I also wish the same," Dax replied. He drew a deep breath. The scent of peony was thick in the air. His mind felt restless. His eyes were shut. His mind pictured Wendy as the woman in his arms.

"I am smelling your rut, Dax. You need me. Don't worry, I will help you to relax some tension," Emma said, her tone laced with sweetness.
