Sabrina’s Pov

Martinez had dragged me out in the night to a club all in search of Rodrigo, the drug mafia. I know I said I'd do anything to get Rodrigo, but right now I just want to go back to my bed. My body still hurts from my encounter with Santiago .

Martinez appeared in a stylish suit with an embroidered vest while I wore a sleeveless body-fitting gown with ruffles from my waist downwards. The gown stopped right below my butt, revealing my thighs and my face was made up—courtesy of my sister. My hands were tucked into Martinez's while we walked into the club, he caressed my hand with his second hand,  he seemed to be loving the whole undercover thing more than I was.

"You look sexy," He complimented

"Thank you, that's the idea, right?" He smiled as we continued inside. We sat on a couch by the corner of the club, and Martinez draped his hands over the back of the bench while I lay on it. We ordered Tequila as we watched the strippers dance around the pole.

We soon noticed tension in the upper part of the club, the VIP section. My attention was drawn to that direction, and I got up and walked in that direction. It looked like a girl was struggling with one of the dons; she refused to let him touch her. Before I got there, she had pulled out a gun from one of the guys standing beside them and pointed it at him. His men brought out their guns and aimed at her. The men shot in the air, and the entire club scattered. Everyone started running, seeking refuge. The crowd distracted my focus, and the minute the girl had shot the don in the hand to scare them away, she dragged the don and placed the gun by his head.

"I'm gonna shoot him if you don't back off," She barked, her hand trembling. I knew I had to step in immediately or they'd kill her. She wasn't going to escape those blood-thirsty men over there, My eyes flickered around in search of Martinez. I left him sitting on the couch, keeping watch while I climbed the stairs to see the cause of the tension. I finally saw him in the crowd and signaled to him that I was stepping in. I brought out my gun from my bag and shot one of the guys from where I was. It took the rest by surprise, and they started looking to see where the gunshot came from, but I hid behind a pole. Martinez also shot at another guy, and soon enough, it became an open-fire battle. The lady quickly left the don and tried to run away whilst they were distracted, but one of the guys shot her arm from behind, she held it and kept running.

"Go get the girl, I'd cover you," I told Martinez in a loud voice. He got to the girl and took her outside, I was now alone with the guys, just three guys were remaining. I gunned two of them down before the last guy got away. I gnashed my teeth because I didn't finish the job. I adjusted my dress and walked out of the club. Martinez had already called for backup and an ambulance.

He had informed me that he will take care of everything and I can leave so I can enjoy the rest of the evening. I didn't want my dress and make up to waste so I headed to a bar. I sat there drinking alone before I sniffed a familiar scent.

“Hey,” I turned around to meet the gaze of Santiago . Just when I thought this night wasn't going to get any messier.

“You?” He gave a charming smile.

We spoke about little things and I found myself getting sucked in by his charms, soon enough I got light headed and confident.

“Kiss me,” for a moment I thought I said it in my mind but it dawned on me that it had slipped out of my lips after I saw the shock then cheeky expression on Santiago ’s face.

I caressed his beard. He planted a kiss on my right cheek.

"I bet that’s not all you have got,” I teased, my cheeks burned with passion, I wanted more but I didn't know what to say.

“You are not wrong, I am just trying to be respectful.” He whispered in my ear, which made me shiver. He held my hands and led me outside to a hidden spot outside the bar.

“This is where you bring your girlfriends, right?” I don't know why I got jealous thinking about him being with another girl. He kissed my lips softly, moving his hand in circles on my lap. His lips swallowed mine until it became an intense tongue kiss. As the kiss deepened, Santiago  kissed the drape of my neck, I moaned lightly under my breath, and we pressed our bodies together. He returned to my lips and we kissed breathlessly for some minutes before Santiago  pulled away—his eyes still filled with raw need and passion.

“We should go to a hotel,” Santiago  said. I nodded shyly in agreement. We drove a few blocks before we got into a hotel. I noticed that it was empty. It filled me with curiosity.

“Why is this place empty?” I asked, waiting for a reply.

“This is my hotel, and I had it reserved for you.” He said it casually.

“The whole hotel was reserved?” I asked with widened eyes.

“I like my privacy,” I smiled as he held my hand and led me to the Vip suite. I entered a luxurious hotel, I have never been opportune to enter such a hotel. It felt like a dream.

I  stood up and unzipped my gown, revealing my bra and panties. Santiago ’s lips remained parted, and I came closer to him and put his head on my breast. He kissed it down to my flat tummy, I shivered under his touch and let out a moan.

He got up, and I wrapped my hands around his neck, and his hands went around my bare waist.

"Santiago ," I whispered. He took off his shirt, revealing his muscles and broad chest. He ran his fingers down my chest before he took off his trousers, leaving only his boxers.

Our naked bodies pressed together as we started another round of kissing but were interrupted by a phone call.

"Don't pick it?" He said, and we continued kissing, the phone rang again.

"Please don't pick up,"  Santiago  pleaded.

"It might be important, let me check," I replied before walking to the sofa to pick up the phone.

"Hello!"

"Valentina was shot, and she is presently in the hospital." My face turned pale as I turned to Santiago  with a shocked expression plastered on my face.

Sabrina's Pov I scrambled back on the bed, my dress was still bunched around my thighs.Santiago stood there, gun lowered with his chest rising and falling fast. Blood splatter dotted his unbuttoned shirt. He looked at the two bodies in the doorway, then back at me, eyes dark and unreadable. “Sabrina, breathe, it is over, they’re down.”“Down?” I laughed, sharp and hysterical. “You just shot three men like it was nothing. How did you even…… where did that gun come from? Under my bed? Who the hell are you?”He moved fast but careful, stepping over the first body to check the hallway. “Clear,” he muttered, then pulled out his phone and dialed with one hand, “Yeah, it’s me. Two down at my current location. Send a crew now. No, don’t ask questions, just make it quiet and fast.” He hung up and turned to me. “Backup’s coming to clean this up.”I snatched the lamp off the nightstand, ripping the code from the wall, and held it like a bat. My hands shook but I didn’t lower it. “Backup? You h

Sabrina's PovMartinez didn’t ask me to sit. He just shut the door and leaned against his desk, arms crossed like the weight of the precinct was pressing down on his shoulders.“They got to him,” he said.My chest squeezed so tight I had to remind myself to breathe. “When?”“An hour ago, there was a shift change and just freaking five minutes of blind cameras.” His voice was low, tired. “Security footage? Wiped clean, like it never happened.”“No, that cell is locked down tighter than a vault.” I stepped closer, palms slapping the desk. “How the hell did they pull that off?”“That’s what’s eating me,” Martinez muttered. “Cause of death was strangulation or even any sign of struggle. He looked… resigned, like he saw it coming.”“Rodrigo,” I whispered.Martinez gave a single nod. “it had to be.”“Did anyone see anything useful?”“Nothing, one guard mentioned a power flicker.” Martinez’s eyes narrowed. “You didn’t answer your phone earlier.”“I was at the hospital.”Rage and fear crashed

Sabrina's Pov I left the precinct earlier than planned. I needed to see Tina again, even if she was still half asleep and barely speaking. I needed proof she was still here. My mind kept looping through everything the man had said.I tried focusing on the steps in front of me, on the sidewalk, on anything that didn’t feel like it was pressing down on my chest. But I was too caught up in my own thoughts, too busy trying to figure out what Rodrigo’s next move might be.Which is probably why I didn’t notice anyone walking toward me until it was too late.I bumped straight into a solid chest.“Oh, Sabrina,” a familiar voice said as a hand wrapped gently around my arm to steady me. “Be careful.”I looked up quickly. “Santiago?”He smiled a little, still holding onto me for a second before letting go. “You okay? You looked miles away.”“Yeah, I was just deep in thoughts,” I muttered, brushing my hair back. “Clearly,” he said with a soft laugh. “You almost knocked yourself out.”I rolled m

Sabrina’s PovMartinez walked me down the hallway in silence. When we reached the small interrogation room, he stopped and looked at me like he wasn’t sure if letting me in was a good idea.“I’m here now, let me talk to him.”He opened the door. The man sat cuffed to the table, bruised and staring straight at me the moment I walked in. He looked too relaxed for someone caught in the middle of an attempted murder case.“There she is,” he said, smiling like we were old friends.I pulled the chair out and sat. “Start talking.”“No warm greeting?” he teased. “You detectives are all the same.”“You asked for me, and here I am, so talk.”He tilted his head. “I heard your cousin pulled through. Tough girl.”My jaw clenched. “Don’t mention her.”He shrugged, almost amused. “You can’t handle hearing her name? That’s interesting.”Martinez stepped behind me, shoulders tense. “Cut the attitude and answer her.”The man leaned forward a little. “Rodrigo told me you’d show up just like this. Straig

  • In Love With The Enemy's Son   Chapter 6

Sabrina’s Pov I had stood outside in the freezing night, shifting my gaze from one passing vehicle to another. I know who I saw, I know it was Rodrigo. “Excuse me, miss?” I turned to look at the clueless nurse. “Miss Sabrina,” I refused to shift my focus from the road. “I was asked to get your signatures on this paper.” I signed it quickly. My heart ached so badly I was hallucinating, but if it was Rodrigo, then this is just the beginning. Tina laid in bed, she looked so calm but I could still see she was in pain. I stood near Tina’s bed, rubbing her stiff hands together. The machines beeped softly, reminding me she was still here. Barely, but here. “I’m so sorry, Tee,” I whispered softly as if she would wake up if I spoke too loudly and I knew she needed rest. “I should’ve protected you. I should’ve been there.” Her eyes were closed. She couldn’t hear me, but saying the words still burned my throat. I pulled the chair closer and sat, leaning forward with my elbows on t

Sabrina’s PovI couldn’t believe what I heard. I felt my entire world pause. While my phone was still pressed to my ear, I slowly turned to face Santiago . “My sister…” I whispered.“What about her?” He asked, with concern all over his face.My voice was trembling. “She’s been shot, I need to go to the hospital right now.” Santiago 's expression, which showed he was longing for something more, was now filled with alarm. He didn’t wait for me to say any more words before dressing up. We both sensed the urgency.“Which hospital was she taken to?” I asked over the phone, tring to keep my breath steady. I could feel my heart pounding so fast which made it hard for me to hear the reply. “H. Jude Hospital. She was brought here not long ago, and she’s unconscious due to the large amount of blood she has lost.” I didn’t want to hear all of that over the phone, so I hung up quickly.I turned, surprised to see Santiago fully dressed; his earlier desire was now replaced with concern. “I wil
