"My lady," Antonia called, as she walked into Chief Athena's quarters.

Chief Athena glanced up with a smile. With a wave of her hand, all the maids attending to her rushed out.

Athena stood from the bed, then walked to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, overlooking the buzzing town of Veinhill.

"Speak," Chief Athena ordered.

"My lady," Antonia bowed, before raising her head.

"Frost made her a maid. He also assigned Freyana to work with her as a maid," Antonia said.

Athena turned to Antonia immediately, eyes wide with disbelief. Antonia lowered her head, avoiding Athena's gaze.

"Freyana, your competitor? The best female warrior—or are you joking?" Athena questioned with disbelief.

A frown appeared on Antonia's face upon hearing Freyana's name called the best female warrior. But the look disappeared the same way it came.

"It is true, my lady," Antonia said.

"I saw them cleaning the tower just now," Antonia added.

Chief Athena scoffed, turning her back to Antonia.

"If you don't have anything else to say, leave," Chief Athena spoke, after a short silence.

"My lady," Antonia called. Antonia took her phone from her pocket and pulled up the videos of Tari's sex tape from high school.

She walked to Athena and showed her the video. Athena frowned; the frown deepened each second, and she paused the video to zoom into the male's face.

"Impossible," she muttered.

She took the phone from Antonia's hand. "No!" she barked and stumbled back. "It can't be, it can't be," Athena muttered.

"My lady, I hate to break it to you. The video was leaked by an anonymous person; I tracked it, and it was Mitari Tonlas—Tari's sister," Antonia said, watching Athena's face closely.

"That bitch! First she sabotaged my plan and caused the accident, now she is leaking a fucking sex tape! A sex tape!" Chief Athena yelled and threw the phone toward the window.

The phone hit the glass window and fell to the ground, shattering.

Antonia's gaze followed the phone before shifting to Athena.

"Breathe, my lady," Antonia cautioned.

Chief Athena paused and took in deep breaths continuously until she was calm. "Where is Frost?" Chief Athena questioned.

"On a mission," Antonia said. Athena’s gaze snapped to her almost immediately.

"A mission? How come I wasn't informed?" Chief Athena asked, a frown appearing on her face.

"My lady, the mission was classified; not even the other chiefs are aware of it," Antonia replied.

"Then how did you know about it?" Chief Athena questioned, staring keenly at Antonia.

"I was passing by the tower last week. I overheard Frost talking to Butcher on the phone. The five are the only ones going—that was all I heard before Frost noticed my presence, and I had to run," Antonia explained.

Athena grabbed her neck almost immediately, shocking her with both hands. "And you kept it from me?" Athena spat, her grip getting tighter.

"My lady, forgive me. It wasn't my intention to keep anything from you," Antonia said.

Athena stared at her for a second longer, before releasing her grip.

"When will Frost be back?" Athena questioned.

"I don't know yet," Antonia answered.

"Drive me to the bridge," Athena said, already walking out. Antonia gave a little eye roll before following behind her.

[Tonla Hospital]

Mitari sat in the backseat of her car in the parking lot.

"How many have called back?" Mitari asked.

"All of them, boss. We even got more foreign buyers now; the company sales have increased by thirty-seven percent higher than over the last fifty days," Benjamin’s voice beamed.

A small smile spread across her lips.

"Good. All of the buyers and investors who refused to work with us before because of Tari’s accident—reject all of them, and ban them from ever buying any of Tonla Industries’ stocks," Mitari ordered.

"Okay. I will do as you say, boss," Benjamin said. Mitari ended the call the next second.

Relaxing her back against the car seat, the smile on her face expanded slowly. She closed her eyes and let out a loud laugh.

Thank goodness the driver was standing outside the car, or he would have witnessed her display of madness.

I told you, Tari—don’t fuck with me. You got what you deserved: death. And I… I have your dream, your betrothal, and soon I will have father’s love. I will make sure the world forgets about you, Mitari said in her mind.

She straightened up and adjusted her shirt. She knocked gently on the car, and the driver opened the door; she stepped out.

At the same time, Malika was coming out of another car with Isaac. The second Isaac and Mitari’s eyes met, he froze for a millisecond before looking away.

Mitari smiled secretly. Malika frowned when she saw Mitari and marched over to her.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Mitari? I called you over a hundred times for the past week and you never answered. I even went to the company and I wasn’t let in. Tari died, and not even a day later you stole the company—what kind of bitchy—"

Malika was cut short by a slap from Mitari. Her head tilted to the side. Isaac started walking toward them, a frown on his face.

"Did you just slap me?" Malika asked in disbelief.

"Do you want another one?" Mitari asked. Malika stared at her in disbelief.

"Mitari—"

A frown appeared on Mitari's face.

"It’s ‘Sister Mitari’. You called Tari ‘Sister Tari’ when she was alive. We are the same age, so you will show me the same respect you showed her," Mitari said, and started walking away.

"The fuck?" Malika took a step forward, ready to pull Mitari by her hair, but a hand pulled her back.

"Let me go, Isaac!" Malika spoke with gritted teeth, struggling to get out of Isaac's grip.

"It’s useless. If you fight with her, it will make headlines, and you know the media will always be on her side," Isaac reminded her.

"Did you hear the shit she just said?" Malika asked.

"I heard. Just calm down, okay? Let's go get a drink to calm you down, huh?" Isaac suggested.

Malika took deep breaths in and nodded once she was calm. Together they got back into his car and drove away.

[Tonla Hospital ~ Yokeme's private room]

"Mitari," Yokeme called softly.

"My name feels bitter coming from your mouth," Mitari replied, staring at Yokeme with empty eyes.

Yokeme sighed.

Mitari walked closer to the bed; she bent to his level until she was hovering over him, her face nearly inches away.

"Father, everything that is happening to you—you deserve it. Tari's accident, the sex tape… I bet they haven’t told you about that. Tari's sex tape with that scholarship student from high school is all over the internet; it’s the talk of the town," Mitari said calmly.

She watched the way Yokeme’s eyes shone with disbelief, the regret in his gaze.

"Yes, just what you need to know. Me taking over the company, mother's death—everything that is happening now. It’s all your fault. I will kill you with my own hands, then bury you with my own hands. I will send your wife and daughter to you, just like I did to Tari."

Immediately after Mitari said that, Yokeme's breath seized. The machine started beeping loudly. Mitari stepped away from the bed, a small smile never leaving her lips.

A second later, the doctors rushed into the room, and she was told to wait outside. Ebtimi came rushing over in a panic.

The second she saw Mitari, she turned to attack her, but Yokeme's guards outside the room held her back.

Mitari tilted her head to the side, watching the middle-aged woman’s display of madness.

"Entertaining," Mitari muttered.

"Can't we just skip today's cleaning? I am still sore from last night," Tari grumbled, walking side by side with Freyana while shielding her face from the sun."That is why you don't pick a fight with a member of Veinhill, talking more of a chief. Literally Chief Athena," Freyana responded."She started it when she attacked me," Tari defended, already frowning."Girl, you've got balls," Freyana complimented. They walked in silence for a while, before Tari's gaze spotted a mud house. She raised an eyebrow and pointed at it."What is that?" Tari questioned.Freyana's gaze followed the direction of her finger and landed on the mud building."It belongs to the Five," Freyana replied, looking away."The Five? And the infrastructure here is kind of nice," Tari questioned. They walked past a group of Veinhillers, who threw irritated stares at Tari."They are like the gods of Veinhill. Tari questioned, wiping her eyes with the back of her palm.Tari tried to sit up, but a wave of pain shot through her body, sending shivers through her veins, and she fell back onto the mat."The fuck?" Tari muttered."That is what you get for messing with a chief. And not just any chief — Chief Athena. Are you even in your right mind?" Ebiere scolded, making Tari frown.Ebiere sighed."I am sorry for raising my voice at you," Ebiere apologized."But there are rules here. You do not disobey or fight with a chief here in Veinhill.
