INICIAR SESIÓN"Lara only has six months to live, Camille. Don’t be petty," my Alpha constantly reminded me. To fulfill his First Love’s dying wishes, Lucian gave her everything that belonged to me. He took her across the world to the places that were meant to be ours, and even handed her the wedding ceremony I had spent months planning. My own son, Rowan, clung to her, nuzzling the woman wearing my mother’s soul-stone. "Why can't Lara be my new mommy?" he asked, looking at me with resentment. In the Aurora Shadows pack, the home I bled for as a Luna, I had become a "lowly omega"—a ghost in my own kitchen. But the moment I signed those mating-severance papers and walked away with my violin, I didn't just leave a broken pack. I triggered an ancient prophecy of the Moon Goddess that had slept for centuries. When I return, I am no longer the humble breeder they threw aside. Now, the Alpha who once looked down on me grovels in the mud for a second chance, and the son who rejected me cries for a single look of mercy. I look down from my throne and smile: "You wanted her, Lucian? You have her. But you lost your Luna... and now, you face your Queen."

"Camille, I've got a surprise for you tonight."
Lucian kissed my forehead this morning before leaving.
"Wait for me at home. Be a good girl. I want your blood-orange venison for dinner."
Today was our fifth anniversary—and my birthday.
Knowing the pack had been secretly prepping for a massive celebration the past two days, I couldn't help but smile. I really thought this cold-hearted alpha had finally learned how to love his mate.
Night fell. I was still in the kitchen finishing dinner when the bells at the square started tolling like thunder.
I was caught off guard. Why didn't anyone tell me? I didn't even stop to take off my apron before I ran toward the square.
I pushed through the crowd, then froze.
Lucian was standing right in the middle of the altar. He was holding the hand of our son, Rowan, while his other arm was wrapped around a shewolf's waist.
Lara was wearing the moon-white gown that only a luna is allowed to wear. The necklace around her neck caught the moonlight.
That was my mother's last possession.
Rowan stood on his tiptoes to hand her a moonstone charm, nuzzling her hand.
"Lara, will you be my new mommy?"
Lara picked him up with a bright smile. "Oh, I'd love to, baby."
Rowan turned and yelled to Lucian, "Daddy, kiss my new mommy!"
And Lucian actually did it. Right there, in front of the whole tribe, he leaned down and gave her a deep, passionate kiss.
"From this day on," Lucian's voice carried his wolf spirit's aura to every corner of the square, "Lara is the only luna of the Aurora Shadows."
Applause hit me like a wave, drowning me in the freezing air.
I slowly turned around, crumpled my stupid apron into a ball, and walked back to the house.
The venison was still warm on the table. The candles on the blueberry cake were waiting to be lit.
Because of one thing Lucian said this morning, I'd spent all day working in the kitchen like a cheap servant.
I looked down at my hands. They were still stained with sauce I hadn't had time to wash off.
It was so ridiculous I felt sick.
For five years, I stayed with Lucian like some lowly breeder, only to be thrown away.
The kid I gave everything to raise was calling someone else "mommy."
In this house, I was the outsider. It was time to leave.
I don't know how much time passed, but eventually, I heard the door.
Lucian walked in with Rowan. His pheromones flooded the room—sharp and overbearing.
He saw me sitting in the dark and hesitated.
"You're still up?"
"Lucian, we need to talk."
Lucian looked at Rowan.
"Go upstairs, buddy."
Rowan yawned and headed up, but he stopped when he got to me.
"Mommy, happy birthday." He looked up at me.
"I... I didn't forget. It's just that Lara only has six months left to live. I want to be her son for a little while to make her happy. You aren't mad, right?"
I forced a smile and rubbed his head.
"Of course not, sweetie. You can pick whoever you want to be your mother, even if she doesn't belong in that spot."
Lucian frowned. "Camille, you know that's not what he meant."
"Daddy is the only one who gets me! Mommy, I hate you!"
Rowan gave me a resentful look and ran upstairs crying.
I slid the mating-severance papers over to Lucian.
"We're done. Let Lara be your mate while she's still alive."
Lucian's face went hard.
"What are you acting out for now? I only did that to make her happy. Are you really going to be this petty?"
"Lucian, look at her. She's wearing my moon soul stone."
That stone held my mother's scent. It was the only thing I had left of her.
"It's not some expensive diamond. I just let her borrow it. She'll give it back in a few days."
I stood up, glaring at him.
"My mother's things are not toys."
"She only has six months to live! Even Rowan is being mature about this. Why can't you just deal with her being around?"
"Haven't I dealt with enough? She's taking my mate and my son!"
That was the first time in five years I'd snapped at him. Lucian's voice went cold.
"Camille, I thought we had an agreement about Lara."
I just laughed.
"She wanted to travel, so you took her around the world, hitting every spot we ever went to. She said her biggest regret was not having a ceremony in front of the Moon Goddess... so you threw her the biggest wedding in New York."
"That ceremony was supposed to be mine! I spent six months planning it, and you gave it to her three days before it was supposed to happen."
"Lucian, you've never once claimed me in front of the Moon Goddess. Never. For five years, the pack hasn't even looked at me like a luna, because they know your wolf belongs to someone else."
"I'm the only one who's been playing dumb."
Lucian's eyes were like ice.
"Shut up. Don't push me."
I knew this arranged mating was just a business deal for the pack.
But I didn't care back then. My wolf fell for Lucian the second she saw him.
I put myself through three years of brutal luna training. I thought if I was perfect, he'd eventually love me.
Then Lara showed up, and I realized he could be obsessed with a woman—it just wasn't me.
"You want to leave? Fine. But Rowan stays here."
"Fine with me. After tonight at the square, I'm not his mother anymore anyway."
Camille's POVRowan guiltily looked away for a split second, but eventually gave a hesitant nod.His classmates instantly erupted into gasps of envy."Wow! Your dad is so handsome, and your mom is so pretty! Her pheromones smell amazing! Just like roses!"The praise from his peers made Rowan incredibly smug.He puffed out his chest and lied proudly, "My mom is the best violinist on the entire East Coast! In a few months, she's even having her own solo concert!"The other kids all let out another round of envious oohs and aahs."Oh my gosh! Rowan, your mom is that amazing?"Just then, a little she-wolf cub suddenly drooped her ears in dismay and muttered, "Man, I wish my mom was that cool. But she's just a commoner who stays home all day like an omega... It's so embarrassing. I never even talk about her at school."Suddenly, another student blinked in confusion."But Rowan, didn't another pretty she-wolf use to drive you to school every day? I thought she was your mom."Hearing that, R
Camille's POVFinn glared at Rowan and roared his final sentence."Camille is the most perfect mother in the world! If you don't want her, I do!"The teachers in the room were shocked by Finn's words. Their eyes darted back and forth between me, Lucian, and Lara. When they looked at me again, there was a lot more sympathy in their gazes. As for me, hearing what Finn just said made my eyes burn. I could only try my hardest to fight back the urge to cry.I had only been taking care of Finn for a few days, yet this child with absolutely no blood relation to me knew to stand up and protect me when I was being questioned.Meanwhile, Rowan—who I had spent five whole years of my youth painstakingly raising—used the most vicious words to accuse me, his own mother.Lucian's cold questioning interrupted my thoughts."Camille, did you not hear Rowan say it himself? This Finn has been secretly bullying him. Before you got here, Rowan also said Finn constantly shows off the food you make for him i
Camille's POVLucian irritably loosened his collar."Come on, for the Moon Goddess's sake, he's just a five-year-old kid!"I suddenly let out a laugh."So you're saying Lara, Gillian, and Rowan can slander and smear me all they want, but the moment I try to defend myself with evidence, I'm just being petty and unreasonable?"I stared numbly at his cold face."Alpha Lucian Lynch, does being marked by you mean permanently losing my dignity? Does it mean I have to bow down not just to you, but to every single friend you have? To live like a slave?"The scents of burnt wood and fir radiating from him violently clashed in the air.The veins on his forehead popped as he roared, "Camille! Are you really going to air our dirty laundry in a public place like a school?"I shot back without missing a beat, "You know what? I don't give a damn."Lucian's nostrils flared. I figured he must absolutely hate me right now—and that thought actually felt amazing. But the next second, Lara's fragile voice
Camille's POVLara seemed afraid that Rowan's words would trigger Lucian's guilt, so she hurriedly interrupted."Lucian, when you really get down to it, this whole thing isn't entirely Rowan's fault. Camille abandoned Rowan and ran off to take care of the Blood Curtain pack's heir..."She looked at me with a blaming gaze."Rowan is just using his own way to try and get a little bit of his mother's attention and pheromone comfort. What did he do wrong? At the end of the day, isn't it Camille who is failing her duties? Why are you ganging up with the academy's teachers here to bully your own son for the sake of an unrelated child?"I slowly stood up. Facing Lara's hypocrisy-filled face, I let out a somewhat sarcastic laugh."Then I would like to ask everyone sitting here: over the past five years, when Lara repeatedly provoked my dignity countless times, why did my mate and my son side with her without any bottom line?"Five-year-old Rowan couldn't understand this at all.He screamed in
Camille's POVLucian's breathing turned heavy, and I was almost certain he was going to shift and start a brawl with Declan right then and there. But suddenly, a figure crashed right into his arms."Oh! Lucian, you really did come to pick me up! I knew it... I knew you'd remember I was getting disc
Camille's POV"You're ready to convict me based entirely on what a few bribed bystanders said. Lucian, don't you think you're being incredibly stupid?"What's your point?"Lucian let out an irritated scoff."My point is, I didn't hit her, so I am absolutely not apologizing. Not only that, but I wan
Camille's POVSeeing that Lucian was truly furious, Lara didn't dare argue anymore. She left the room in a hurry, rolling away in her wheelchair. After all that chaos, I was exhausted.I closed my eyes, feeling completely drained. "I need to rest. Please leave."But neither alpha moved a muscle.De
Camille's POVJust then, a massive commotion broke out in the back of the crowd.Someone shrieked in terror, "CEO Lucian of the Aurora Group is here!"Everyone turned their heads toward the open doors, tracking the sharp, commanding silhouette.Lucian strode in with a steady pace, the air in the en
