*AYANA*

“Ayana, if you don’t go back in the house and change, we’re not going anywhere.”

“What’s wrong with it?”

“If I show you what’s wrong with it, we’ll never make it out.”

I rolled my eyes at him. Whose dad is this man? For the record, it’s nothing but a little cleavage. Sometimes the titty is the outfit. I thought it was cute. I stepped out in a denim mini skirt with a corset top and a nice pair of heels. I will admit that top was a size or two too small, but that’s because I wanted that lift.

Jeremy didn’t appreciate it. He’s always thinking these thirsty dudes are looking at me. I keep telling him that’s none of his concern. He just keeps insisting on telling me to change my clothes.

I went inside and found a cute bodycon dress that stopped mid-thigh. It was red with black straps. I paired it with a black leather jacket and my black chunky heels.

When I stepped outside, he smirked and gave his ‘nod of approval’. He opened my door and helped me into my seat.

“Ooh…he got manners,” I said jokingly.

He just smiled and shut the door behind me.

Once he got in and started the car, we were on our way to wherever he had us going.

“Where are we going?”

“It’s a surprise,” he said with a grin on his face.

“Uh uh, you know I don’t like surprises.”

“You’ll like this one. I just need to make a stop first.”

I didn’t know what to expect, so I decided to send Jamira my location. I made sure to share it for the next twenty-four hours.

I don’t know why I thought that was a good idea because as soon as she got it, she started blowing up my phone. After declining the first three calls, I put my phone on silent. She left a voicemail and sent an angry text.

PICK UP THE PHONE, YANA!

I’m grown.

You’re triflin’.

Just know if anything happens, you’ll know where to find me.

Are you with Jeremy?

Maybe, maybe not.

She texted back but by then I put my phone face down in my lap and ignored her. I didn’t have time to answer Mira’s one hundred and one questions.

She’s been talking about meeting him. Truth is I don’t want her snooping in my shit like I do her. Well, like I did her when she was with Chris. I don’t think she’d even approve of him anyway.

She always told me to get a guy with a decent job and treats me well. Jeremy ain’t none of that. I mean he treats me good, but I honestly don’t know enough to say what he does or doesn’t do. Every time I ask he just does something to distract me like foreplay or a gift.

We rode around town for about twenty minutes before we got to a strip club. The building was small and the parking lot was fairly empty. It was nine at night on a Thursday after all. He parked the car and looked me in my eyes with the most serious look I’ve ever seen on his face.

“This is only gonna take a few minutes. Don’t leave this car and don’t talk to nobody.”

“What kind of—“

“Just don’t.”

He quickly exited the car and went to talk to security for a few minutes before going inside.

I locked the doors as my stomach turned inside out. I turned up the radio a little to ease my nerves.

I got lost in my jam, Rodeo by Juvenile. That man knew he was fine. My mind started to drift elsewhere when I heard a loud banging sound on the window.

My heart started racing as I tried to ignore the figure staring right at me.

“Open the window.”

I pulled out my phone to pretend like I was calling the cops until I looked up and saw that it was Chris, just as weak as he’d ever been.

I rolled the window down slightly. Enough to talk, but also enough that if I need to, I could roll it back up.

“Where’s Mira?”

“Like I’d ever tell you.”

“I swear you so damn raggedy.”

He started banging on the window and trying to open the door.

“Ayana open this door or I’ll open it myself.”

Before things went too far Jeremy appeared and walked over to Chris’s embarrassing ass and checked him.

“Why you banging on my car?”

“You know me?”

“You beating on my car, scaring my lady. Now I’m gonna ask you again before my barrel start talking.”

Chris threw his hands up and slowly backed up.

“I’m just trying to talk to the girl, that’s all.”

“You don’t talk to her you talk to me.”

I can’t lie that made me smile so wide I knew he seen it from outside the car.

I rolled the window back up and waited for Jeremy to get back in the car. Once he did, we rode for another thirty minutes before pulling into the parking lot of a small building that was nothing really spectacular on the outside. It was pretty empty actually aside from four other cars.

Once we got inside the building, the lights were dim with soft jazz in the background and shelves of wine bottles on one wall with pictures and pottery on the other wall. There were eight tables in the middle with mini easels on top ready for use. Next to them were paint trays full of colors.

We went and took our seats and we were immediately greeted by the staff.

“Welcome to Zip Creations, my name is Trey. Can I interest you in a bottle of wine while you paint?”

Jeremy nodded and told him what to get. From there we sipped our wine and painted while we got to know each other a little more.

By the time we were finished, so was the bottle. He led me back to his car and helped me back inside.

When we left he went in a different direction than my house.

“Where are we going?”

“I thought we’d get a room for tonight.”

“That made me excited.

He pulled into the parking lot of a hotel and got the room.

We took a shower together and I realized I didn’t have any clothes to change into.

“I don’t have any clothes.”

“Don’t worry about it, I can get you some more. Besides you’re not going to need any tonight,” he said smiling.

I knew exactly what that meant.

He sat in the chair and motioned for me to come sit on his lap. He grabbed my hips and kissed my neck as he penetrated the pool beneath me.

I bit my lip trying to hold back the moan that was forcing its way out.

I closed my eyes as I moved my hips around his dick and bounced.

“Shit! Ahhh.”

“Open your eyes, look at me.”

I did as he said. He gripped my hips tighter. Somehow looking right into his eyes made things so intense I climaxed within seconds.

He picked me up and put me on all fours.

“Arch your back all the way,” he whispered.

I nodded and got as low as I could.

Next I felt his warm head enter me. Slowly at first, then gradually picking up speed. It wasn’t long before he started slamming into me and making noises of his own.

He bent down pressing his body against my back as he reached down and placed his fingers on my clit rubbing up and down quickly.

“You like that?”

“I like it.”

“Shhh. Just cum for me.”

It wasn’t long before my knees buckled and my body gave out while my juices trickled down my leg.

He turned me over and continued to stroke his shaft. Within a few minutes he covered my breasts with his cum. He smiled and went to get a washcloth.

He wiped every bit of it up. Afterwards he got in the bed beside me and wrapped his arms around me. It didn’t take long for him to fall asleep.

I stirred thinking about the run in with Chris. That shit spooked me.

I wasn’t sure when I went to sleep, but when I woke up I was alone. The other side of the bed was cold and there was no trace of Jeremy. Then I looked over and saw a hundred dollar bill staring at me.

I stared at the bill for a long time.

It wasn’t the money.

It was what it felt like.

As if every conversation, every plan—even our date—had simply been… a transaction.

I called his phone and it went straight to voicemail.

*ERIC* After Jamira showed up, I can’t lie, I felt better about all the stuff that’s been going on lately. She stayed a while to talk and help with filing a few things for me. I actually like having her here. She’s really helpful. After going through a few cases and finishing up on two of them, I decided I needed a break. I went to go to Walt’s office. Once I got to the door, Dina, yet again was all in Walt’s face. She was sitting on the armrest of his chair with her hand on his chest. Seriously, what do these two do all day? “Dina, leave!” She hesitated and looked between us before running out of his office. Walt threw his hands up and grunted. “Why?” “Dina’s not worth the distraction.” Walt just stared at me a few seconds before returning back to work. “Hey, so I was wondering how Kacie was settling into her new place?” He paused. “Wouldn’t know anything about it.” “How was she when you helped her move the last of it?” “Fine.” “I called and she tri

*JAMIRA* Ayana and I talked and laughed as she recounted the events from her date and everything that happened afterwards. That girl still hadn’t changed. “Okay, but why didn’t you call me? I would’ve picked you up.” “Girl you too busy playing house with that man all up in your business.” “You see where that got me.” We both laughed. “Speaking of that, how’s the baby?” “He’s fine. I’m just ready for him to come already.” “Just hang in there girl.” I smiled. It’s amazing how a simple phrase can make you feel better than you did before. Even though I was happy to be talking to Ayana, my mind stayed on Eric. Ever since Kacie left he’s been down in the dumps. I thought if I surprised him at work, he’d feel at least a little better. Then Walt was acting strange like he didn’t want to be bothered. Eric would never say it, but I could tell he felt that the whole interaction was…off. “Hello, hello?” Her voice pulled me away from my thoughts. For a moment I’d fo

*ERIC* The move was not only bittersweet, but it made the condo feel bigger in a way I hadn’t imagined possible. The commotion in the morning, the laughter, even the routine I’d gotten accustomed to were all nonexistent now. I sat on the couch watching the game when Jamira came and sat next to me. She took my hand into hers and looked at me for a while before speaking. “You know we should do something nice for Kacie.” I nodded my head not fully processing what she was saying. She didn’t press the issue. I’m glad she didn’t. She just motioned for me to lift my legs up and started massaging my feet. That did more than I expected, actually. It was like most of the tension that had been building over the months was finally starting to ease. The rest of it melted away when I got in the shower. The water ran down my body and took my troubles with it. When I got out I found Jamira had already fallen asleep. I slid in next to her, not trying to wake her up. That night

*CHRIS* The next day, I went into work with dinner still on my mind. I never knew my mom was in such a state. She seemed perfectly fine when she came to visit me at the hospital. She even helped me around the room during my recovery. I hadn’t known she’d been lying. Neither did I know that she lied to my dad too. I wondered what else they weren’t telling me since I left last night. That unsettling flutter in my stomach hadn’t left either. It’s safe to say I didn’t sleep. Between me trying to find Mira and worrying about my mom, I might be on the verge of losing my mind myself. I didn’t talk to my dad about it because it was already late, so I ended up leaving, but I intended to talk to him about it today. The morning rush came early, and we were all busy trying to get everyone in and out. It wasn’t until around one o’clock that I was able to get enough breathing room to go address things. I went down the hall and knocked on his door. “Come in.” I walked in and sa

  • Love On Ice   Coming Back

*CHRIS* For weeks I’ve been working to escape my own thoughts of Jamira. She really thinks I’m going to just lay down and accept the fact that she wants to leave? She has life all fucked up. The last time we spoke I made sure to let her know this wasn’t over. I intend to show her exactly what I mean. I’d been riding past her school looking for her for a week just to finally call and find out she doesn’t even work there anymore. That made my mission to find her harder, but not impossible. The following week I rode around and when I went to get some gas, I just so happened to catch her bald-headed ass friend Ayana. I made sure she didn’t notice me by sliding a little down in my seat when she exited the car. She was with a medium-built, medium-brown man with dreads and just a few inches taller than her. I wanted to throw my shoe at the back of her head. It took all of ten minutes for them to come out and get in the car. I waited another five minutes before I left. I
