LOGINKNOX'S POV I walked into Alpha Bryn chamber, and the first thing I got was an empty can of soda slamming into my forehead. I jerked in a bit of shock and at the same time confusion. My gaze lingered for a second until it rested on Alpha Bryn. He stood by the side of his bed heaving out loudly while he stared at me. He was really in a terrible mood. I could tell by how tightly he gripped the IV pole as though he was gonna throw it on my face as well. The park's doctor, Isaiah, stood right next to Alpha Bryn, his eyes almost bulging out of its socket. He looked like he was pissing his pants and I could guess the Alpha didn't make things so easy on him. “Ohh, well.” I mumbled. Rubbing my palm on my forehead. He really aimed perfectly and that was clearly not Bryn. “What's going on here?” I whispered, my tone quite uncertain. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew I shouldn't expect a hug nor a handshake. “You fucking backstabber.” Alpha Bryn mumbled, rolling his eyes off and throwi
SABLE'S POV I slowly stepped back into the room, shutting the door behind me while I stared at him still in disbelief. He shrugged his shoulders, rolling his eyes lightly and I could tell he thought the same thing when he found that out. “But I'm in here, how is that possible?” I asked, scanning the room and wondering if I was probably in some other building. “Apparently, Ysoria does not trust you enough to judge your disappearance as an in-house activity.” I scoffed lightly at how funny that sounded. “You are an accomplice I guess.” Knox shook his head with a mischievous grin on his face before speaking. “A victim.” He added. I burst out in a loud laughter, almost throwing myself into the wall. “Are you joking huhn?” He shook his head, still having a straight face on. “You practicality duped me, and ran. And now I'm out there searching for you.” I squinted my brows, trying to make sense of his words but then my stomach chunked out loudly. “Well, I'm back now I presume. And I
SABLE'S POV I had no idea what was wrong with me, but I knew it had to do with that fucking game reserve. No other explanation for losing myself the moment I stepped into the woods except the place wasn't good for me. I guess my wolf must have had some kind of bad experience out there in its previous life or I got something to do with it but I just couldn't remember. In all, I hated that place and was never stepping foot back there. Maybe I wouldn't survive to tell the tale the next time I went there. It only made sense, I began feeling dizzy on the horse, almost gave out a couple of times while we walked there and I finally blacked out the moment we settled in, only to pull my eyes open like nothing ever happened in Knox's car. I guess the toxicity was over and Knox's car was my safe space. Ysoria would be so excited to announce how weak of a woman I was and how I couldn't stand a hunting reserve. Well, whatever she got to say, I didn't care. But no way I was going back. Not today
CHAPTER 95_TOO NATURAL KNOX'S POV Sable laid on my bed and I watched her sleep peacefully. I couldn't take my eyes off her, even after hours of staring. My hands went on and off from her forehead, making sure her temperature was neutral. She'd insisted on no doctors and I feared there was something else to it. She probably didn't want to get anyone else involved and it hurts a bit to realize I was part of the people she'd decided to keep things a secret from. Or maybe I was only over reacting. I wouldn't know, but in all I knew I couldn't leave her this way, not after what I'd seen earlier today. I laid down next to her, monitoring her breath and falling in love with her over again. There was something about how peaceful she looked even while she slept. How her lips twitched and an occasional smile tugged on her lips like she was in paradise right in her dream. I was relieved seeing those things, at least she wasn't sweating and jerking off in fear. I slowly dozed off to sleep, I
ALPHA BRYN'S POV “My leg, my fucking leg!” I screamed out after what felt like an eternity. I'd finally gotten my voice, but for as long as I could remember, I laid flat on the bare floor, eyes widely open as I questioned all of my life choices. I didn't want to believe I'd just gotten shot, and at the same time I couldn't stop wondering why the pain was all over like the bullet had pierced into every fiber of my body. At the same time, I couldn't stop wondering why my eyes were still widely open. If I was shot, I'd presumed I should be dead by now or at least at the verge of it. Eyes drifting away slowly, heartbeat slowly dying off, but no it wasn't so. I heartbeat tripled up, as well as my eyes. It shot wide open, scanning the bare floor as though solutions to my problems laid right on it. I think all of this probably happened in a second considering the next second after pain shot across my legs and I bolted up on my feet, mum sti
KNOX'S POVThanks to my speed, I got to the horse in a minute. The journey didn't seem as long as it was earlier when we headed into the woods, probably because I did more running than walking. I hurriedly placed Sable on the horse, untying it from the tree before hopping on. I wasn't sure if carrying Sable on a horse was right for her state, but I guess it was better than spending another fifteen minutes trying to maneuver the route on foot. I tried to be careful as we rode back to where the car was parked, but it didn't stop Sable from slipping off my grip from time to time. We got to the car park and again I roped the horse down to a tree hoping that in this part of the city, stealing of livestock wasn't a thing. I dropped Sable into the back seat of the car and slowly pressed my hand on her forehead. She wasn't running temperature like earlier, that got me a bit relieved, but it still didn't change the fact that she was unconscio
KNOX'S POV I couldn't take my eyes off from Sable no matter how I tried. I couldn't take myself off the balcony as well. The only prompt of leaving that spot I had was to walk down the hallway, out the building and towards the garden. Sit next to Sable and have the maid servant prepare a better ba
KNOX'S POV Alpha Bryn was always so fond of doing this. Pushing me upfront while he sat behind watching its consequences. If it was bad, he acted like he was never in with it. But if it was good, I had to hand over the appraisal to him. I was cool with that, I've always been cool with it. But I re
SABLE'S POV I headed towards Luna's garden, a few maid servants following behind me. Madam Rosa had excused herself and headed back to the maids quarters leaving me with my thoughts. How was Ysoria going to think of this? She was a crazy woman and would possibly term it as mockery or if I was luck
KNOX'S POV I returned to my chamber after my meeting with Ysoria. Not actually to my chamber, I headed towards Alpha Bryn’s chamber at first, wanting to fill him in with his mother's words. I knew she would summon him eventually and probably talk him out of bringing Sable into the council, but I n
