DOMINIC

The maid who’d gone upstairs to call her for dinner returned a few minutes later with her eyes glued to the floor and her fingers fidgeting nervously in front of her.

“Where is she?” I asked.

“She... she said she wasn’t hungry,” the maid replied, nervously stumbling over her words.

Anastasia wouldn’t be that nice. She’d rather tell me to fuck myself.

“Her exact words?” I asked coldly.

The maid gulped, her eyes briefly lifting to mine before dropping to the floor again.

“Mrs. Blackwood..

DOMINICThe city passed beyond the tinted windows as I reviewed the report open on my tablet. The car was quiet except for the low hum of the engine.I wondered how Anastasia would react to being trapped inside the villa with no one to talk to. A smirk tugged at my mouth.Would she try to run away? She wouldn’t. She was smarter than that.Would she try to threaten me?I smirked again. I wanted to know what she would come up with.“Sir.”I didn’t look up. “What?”“Miss Rhea visited the villa this afternoon.”My finger paused against the screen, and I glanced at my assistant.“When?”“Shortly after lunch.”“What did she do?”“She asked to see Mrs. Blackwood. They spoke for a while before Miss Rhea left.”I stared at him. “Spoke about what?”“The staff wasn’t present, sir.” I tapped my finger against my knee.“What did she bring?”“Several shopping bags.”“For Anastasia?”“Yes.”I returned my attention to the tablet, though I wasn’t reading the report anymore.Rhea had found out about th

ANASTASIAThe entire dining room was filled with nothing but the scrape of my fork against the plate as I ate. I could hear myself chewing, hear every swallow, and that was how painfully silent this villa had become. It had been two days without Wi-Fi, without a phone, and without any access to the outside world. Dominic had practically cut me off from everyone, as though he was slowly conditioning me to accept being nothing more than his captive. The last time I saw him was two nights ago.He had kissed me, and when I opened my eyes, the warmth on his face had disappeared. His expression had turned cold before he walked out of the room without offering a single explanation for why the fuck he had kissed me so gently in the first place.I hadn’t slept properly since then, half-expecting him to walk into my room and kiss me again. At least I could finally breathe without his overbearing presence looming over me. Even Rita hadn’t come around, and I couldn’t stop wondering what he had sa

That sounded like her.I turned to the maid, who was staring at me with wide eyes as though she expected me to be angry.“Clear the table,” I ordered. The maids immediately moved around the dining room, gathering the untouched plates and carrying them toward the kitchen while I remained seated, my gaze fixed on the empty chair

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    Train of thoughts

DOMINIC If I said I kissed her—or told her to step away—because she wouldn’t stop talking, I’d be lying. It was probably because her face hovered over mine, her lips parting as she spoke. I could see the soft pink inside her mouth, and before I could think better of it, I leaned up, grabbed the back of her head, and pulled her down. My lips crashed against hers. I moved my mouth over hers, and the moment I slipped my tongue into her mouth, she jerked away as though the kiss had shocked her. Her eyes widened. Her lips remained slightly parted. “Stop doing that,” she muttered, her chest rising and falling as colour crept into her cheeks. The flustered look suited her more than any expression she’d ever worn. “Doing what?” I asked, reaching for the barbell and lifting it again as though I hadn’t just kissed her. “Kissing me.” She glared down at me. “I have permission to do more than that.” I shrugged before lifting the barbell with a low grunt. She continued glaring

ANASTASIAMy grip tightened around the fork as I picked at the lettuce. I hated the bland taste, I hated the salty taste of the sauce, and hated the man sitting at the head of the table even more.I hated the fact that the dress I was wearing was probably fitted with a tracker. It made me feel like a labeled item someone had placed on a shelf and claimed as their property. My jaw clenched as I forced another bite down. The guards had been replaced that morning, and at least that was a relief. I hadn’t received a text from Marcus either, though I wasn’t sure it would have made much of a difference.I glanced at Dominic. He sat with his usual reserved posture, his features clean and composed. He looked like the perfect reflection of the man in the papers, except for the red bruise on his bottom lip where I had bitten him.I wished I had bitten harder, maybe torn some flesh to leave a permanent mark. His eyes snapped toward mine. I looked away.“You don’t like the breakfast?” he asked.“

  • Marry me; The Billionaire's contract    You belong to me

ANASTASIA I could feel Dominic’s grip tighten around my wrist. I hated the way his fingers locked there, like I was something he owned. How had he found me? I had left the house quietly, slipped past the guards, made sure no maid saw me.My heart hammered. Would Dominic really ruin the Graysons because of my carelessness? I couldn’t let that happen. The Graysons depended too much on the real-estate market, and the Blackwoods controlled the entire market.I was doing this for Marcus. I let him drag me to the car.I could hear the murmurs from the balcony. I craned my neck and saw the women standing there, eyes fixed on me with pure hatred. I’d gladly give up my marriage for them, to take the exclusive spot beside this arrogant block of ice.My eyes fell on Eunice. She wasn’t murmuring. She stood a little apart from the others, one hand resting lightly on the railing, her gaze locked on mine. Like she had been waiting for this exact moment. Like watching Dominic drag me across the grav

ANASTASIA“He just has to show up late, dosen't he” I whisper, glancing toward the entrance—no sign of Dominic. The hall is huge, flooded with people. I feel painfully out of place, maybe because I’ve avoided them for so long. Everyone has something to say about me.Hushed whispers about me, yet lo

ANASTASIAI stare up at the mansion in front of me, it’s huge, the building standing tall, representing power and everything the owner stands for. The air carries the faint smell of rain, old money, and fresh roses from the garden surrounding the mansion. The building reminds me of him: tall, big,

ANASTASIA “Ana, Ana. Come on, it’s almost nine.” I yanked the sheets over my head to muffle Maria’s persistent voice. “Jesus Christ, Maria, let me sleep,” I yelped when the blanket was torn from my body, the cold morning air of the city taking its place.“Give me back my blanket. It’s so cold,”

ANASTASIA“Marry me, Miss Brooks,” Dominic says, like he’s offering me an invitation to a soap opera.I stare at the contract in front of me, as if staring hard enough would make it somehow disappear, turn into something that isn’t a marriage contract to the most condescending person on earth – Dom
